00:00you. Huge battle taking place in South Beach, Miami. Fresh off the dominating home win over
00:08Florida State. Now opens as a 21 and a half point home favorite over the Duke Blue Devils
00:14and Manny Diaz Duke right now sitting at six and two. Their quarterback Malik Murphy did
00:20have a dynamic performance against SMU. Couldn't pull it out over 200 yards passing three touchdowns,
00:27no interceptions. The last time these teams played back in 2022 Duke did get the 20 plus
00:33victory over the Hurricanes coach. How do you see this game playing out? I'm excited
00:39to see that. I mean, Miami's got the best talent and it'll be hard for them to lose
00:42this game. But Manny Diaz, you know, he has a couple of things. One, he's from Miami and
00:48this is a huge game for the former Miami coach, but he's going to pressure. He's going to
00:52come after that quarterback. He loves to penetrate and pressure quarterbacks. And I
00:57believe, and he goes back to when he first, his first coaching job was with my dad at
01:01Florida State. And he learned that penetration defense. I can see them going after camp making
01:05something happen, probably play a little zone blitz where they play deep behind a blitz.
01:11Cause when you play, when you blitz, the blitz takes up the run and also pressures the quarterback,
01:16but you got, when you're playing deep, you give up those short throws, but I believe
01:19they're going to come after him because that's both the only way D Manny Diaz knows how to
01:22play.
01:23Yeah, absolutely. Coach. This is the matchup for me. I'll get your take on it. You know,
01:28you look at Duke right now, giving up 160 rushing yards per game. We talked about it
01:32in opening segment. They allowed well over 200 to SMU, right? So if you're Miami and
01:38Damian Martinez and their backup running back Fletcher, you gotta be licking your chops
01:42saying we have to run the football on this front seven. But the other matchup for me
01:46is obviously cam ward going up against that secondary. They're only giving up 166 passing
01:52yards per game. They're holding opposing quarterbacks to 57% completion percentage. They might force
01:59cam ward to dink and dunk down the field, short to intermediate throws to be patient.
02:06How do you see that matchup playing out from the Duke's perspective?
02:10You read my mind. That's exactly what I think they're going to do. They're going to come
02:13after cam ward. They're going to make sure and then play a zone behind it and make him
02:17dink and dunk and see if he's patient enough to do it. And then they can get to him and
02:22get to him and maybe get him, get him flustered a little bit. But I don't think they want
02:26to, you can't sit back and let cam ward tab all day. Cause you know what? You'll take
02:30all day. He'll sit there as long as he has to till somebody comes open. So I think you're
02:34going to see that. And the thing about a blitz, if a bliss it's uncorrectly, it blitzes into
02:39the run and it shows after the quarterback. So you're really trying to take care of both
02:43things at one time. Blitz, a blitz, especially a zone blitz where you're blitzing through
02:48the runs to the quarterback. You're kind of making sure you don't give up one to get the
02:51other.
02:52Yeah. And I think if this game does get into a shootout, you know, in the high fifties,
02:57sixties, that would benefit cam ward in that offense. They're averaging well over 300 passing
03:03yards per game pound of the rock. Now for about 194 yards per game, Damian Martinez
03:09coming on, they have fresh legs in the ball game at all times. And the offensive line
03:14shows continuity. They're coming into form at the end of the regular season. And that's
03:19what you want to see. But you know, Malik Murphy and Duke's offense, they're more methodical,
03:24but they do put up points. Malik Murphy does have 17 touchdowns this year, only five interceptions.
03:31You look at Duke last year, coach, they only had 14 touchdown passes as a team. Malik Murphy
03:37through week. Number nine is already a clip stack. He's been a great addition to that
03:42offense this season.
03:43Well, I think he's the reason Duke is what they are. They're a much better football team.
03:48And as far as the mid conference level team goes, they're having an outstanding season.
03:53But I say this again, there's a different level at the top. If you get to Clemson or
03:57Miami or if Miami and Clemson think they're where Georgia is and Oregon is, Miami has
04:04got to come out there and win this game without having to worry too much. If they're moving
04:09toward the level of play that they're going to need to win an SEC championship or have
04:13a chance to compete for the national championship, as good as Duke plays, Miami has got to take
04:18control of this game as they get better and better late in the season.
