00:00The biggest game potentially in the conference is in SMU, SMU at home, coming off the one
00:09point home road victory over Duke, 28 to 27, opens as a seven and a half point home favorite
00:17over Eli Holstein and the Pitt Panthers.
00:20Like I mentioned, blue collar football, they're doing it on the defensive side of the ball.
00:25There's like a huge number, especially with Kevin Jennings, the SMU quarterback, a little
00:30bit banged up, Holstein is as well, but give me the Pitt Panthers with the points.
00:35I think they're in this game from start to finish, coach.
00:38I got you.
00:39And I'm taking the Panthers with the points that I just, every now and then you'll see
00:42a team that just finds a way to win.
00:45They've got that chemistry.
00:46They play games tough.
00:47They just find a way to pull it out.
00:49That's the way I see Pittsburgh this year.
00:52They've been so good at winning close ball games and not getting themselves behind.
00:56I love the way they play.
00:57I think they'll play a great ball game, but I do think with the points that they're getting,
01:01I got to go with Pittsburgh.
01:03Yeah.
01:04And you look at SMU right now, very balanced offense, averaging 201 rushing yards per
01:09game.
01:10They're throwing for 242 yards per game through the air with Jennings and those elite wide
01:15receivers converting, coach, 46% on third down conversions, right?
01:20As an offense, when you're converting almost five of every 10 attempts, you're sustaining
01:25drives and keeping the opposing offenses on the sidelines.
01:28The biggest strength though, for me is the front seven.
01:31They're giving up 88 rushing yards per game.
01:34And more importantly in the secondary, holding opposing quarterbacks to only 53% completion
01:40percentage.
01:41They have that type of effort against Holstein and Pittsburgh could be a long day for the
01:45Panthers.
01:46Well, again, it's going to be a low scoring game.
01:48I feel, I feel like the Panthers know how to play defense and they'll do a good job
01:52as fast as SMU plays.
01:54I think, I think Pitt will be prepared for it.
01:56And another thing, I think one thing that happens when you put the ball on the ground
02:00fumble six times in the previous game, you lost three of them, but you put it on the
02:03ground six times.
02:05You're going to see, you're going to see Pittsburgh stripping that ball, pulling that ball at every
02:08time, because that's been a problem for SCU.
02:11We haven't noticed it because they've won their ball games.
02:14But if you go back and look at every single ball game, they've got 10 fumbles for the
02:17year and they're 131 out of 133 in teams.
02:21But again, I just think Pittsburgh is going to hang around.
02:24There's going to be a turnover or something, and they're going to win the game, uh, for,
02:27for the, against the, against the SMU football team.
