00:00Hi, I'm Phil with Manchester World and today I'm out in the streets of Manchester asking people about driving
00:03And that's because age-based driving issues have become a really contentious topic recently
00:08a surprising amount of Brits
00:10So that they will be willing to impose some sort of ban on people over the age of 50 who are driving
00:14We want to know if people are in favor of that or against
00:17I think it's definitely something that should be talked about, definitely for like 70 and over
00:22I was gonna say 65 and over
00:24There you go, retirement age I guess
00:26Maybe not 50, but I think once they get past like 60 or something
00:30There should definitely be you know, some some kind of check to make sure you know
00:34Even just like vision stuff like that deteriorates, you know your reaction time stuff like that as you get older
00:40But I would say my dad does driving for a living and he's about 58
00:44Yeah, and he's a brilliant driver never have any issues, touch wood
00:48I think I think 70 I think you definitely have to retake the test at 70
00:52The only reason I say that is my granddad was still driving up until he was like 73 74
00:58No way, I would want to get in the car with him
