Tenants are finally set to move into a controversial temporary accommodation site after months of waiting after initially being told they would be ready to be moved in to in March. The site has also angered local residents whose gardens are just a few feet from the units people will soon live in.

00:25One Ukrainian refugee and her son have said that they have been forced to live in a one-room
00:29hostel since July after the date was continuously pushed back by the local authority.
00:33The site was first approved using special planning permission usually used for an emergency
00:37situation and local residents have complained that many of the units are just a number of
00:42feet from their houses.
00:44There are also concerns over health provisions in the local area with many residents believing
00:48there should be a new medical facility built to cope with added pressure.
00:53Residents continue to campaign against the site and have raised money to begin legal
00:56proceedings against the council.
