00:00I can't keep up with the number of people that we're offending just by being normal people these days.
00:03Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're examining infamous instances when the most belligerent,
00:11entitled, and meanest folks, poetically known as Karens, caused havoc around Halloween.
00:17She stepped back and just hit me with a hatchet in the face.
00:21Mask punishment. Usually, when a child is misbehaving, they get put in a timeout.
00:27Well, workers at the Little Blessing Child Care in Hamilton, Mississippi,
00:32went way too far in 2022 with a dash of trauma, which they recorded. After finding a Scream-esque
00:40mask, one worker decided to put on the horrifying headgear and frighten the kids.
00:45Then, when she left the room, she removed the mask and returned to the kids,
00:49telling them she got rid of the monster to get a hero's welcome. On top of being fired,
00:55four workers were charged with abuse and one other for failing to report the incident.
01:00In 2023, they received various sentences, including 12 months in jail and fines of over $5,900.
01:08Just the attention that's been given to this at this point might keep something
01:15like this from happening. There are people who look into what's going on.
01:18Attacking actors. What we notice out here,
01:20people reacting naturally to being scared, but the concerning part is,
01:24people are malicious and intentionally attacking these scare actors.
01:28Scare actors are Halloween heroes. Especially busy around the frightening festivities,
01:33they have to deal with all sorts of nonsense from Karen's. More so if drink is involved.
01:39In 2015, three people attacked workers at the Universal Studios Park in Orlando, Florida.
01:44In the Walking Dead house attraction, one actor jumped out at William Nunnally, who turned,
01:50looked at the performer, then punched them, but told the police he accidentally hit them.
01:55You're going to have to try to survive the zombie apocalypse.
01:58Only now, you're not in your living room watching it, you're living it.
02:02A belligerent Carlo Ronan Diaz kicked the stilts of one actor multiple times,
02:06causing them to fall. An unnamed man from Fort Myers, Florida, caused two scare actors to quit
02:11Universal's Halloween Horror Nights after kicking another performer in the face. Each of the Karens
02:17faced battery charges. Who's the real cop?
02:35Considering Halloween is all about donning costumes, it's amazing there aren't more stories
02:41like this. In 2022, Kylie Danis and Timothy Wilkes were pulled over in Ohio as they drove
02:47home to Pennsylvania. When the officers approached, it must have been like the
02:51iconic Spider-Man meme, since Danis was dressed like a cop. Danis, for whatever reason, began
03:03incriminating herself. She admitted to not having a license, then stated Wilkes had a warrant out
03:09for his arrest for a false report of assault she issued. Getting more annoyed, talking over the cop
03:14and refusing to leave the car, Danis was eventually arrested. However, when in the police cruiser,
03:21she kicked an officer's arm, adding to her growing list of charges.
03:25The Karen Crow
03:42In 2022, city officials in Prosser, Washington, decided to put the ultimate terrifying scarecrow
03:48on display for their fall decorating competition, one representing Karens. With a t-shirt stating
03:55Can I speak to the manager, and standing inside Karen's garden, the scarecrow, of course,
04:00drew the ire of some. Local resident Marcella Sanchez claimed the Karen Crow was built to
04:05resemble her after she protested a city bond proposal on social media. Regardless that the
04:11only similarity was the same hair color, she led the charge to have it removed. While officials
04:16denied it was done to retaliate against Sanchez, they relented to the pressure and removed the
04:22Karen Crow. The city took all of the Karen effects off of the scarecrow before they took
04:28it down completely. Squabble to Assault
04:35In 2022, Catherine Llewellyn had been arguing with Philippa Stevens on Facebook. Rather than
04:41block her and move on, Llewellyn wouldn't let it go and posted harsh statuses of her own.
04:47Stevens attempted to stop her by contacting Llewellyn's partner, only to get an abusive
04:51message from him. After calling Stevens and laughing down the phone repeatedly on Halloween
04:56night, Llewellyn and her friend Teresa Morgan-Peters put on clown masks and went to her
05:01house in Stradanglais, Wales. They broke in and attacked her with a blade and covered her in
05:06bleach. While Stevens couldn't see the attackers, the bleach and masks used contained their DNA,
05:19and they were arrested. In 2023, Llewellyn and Morgan-Peters were sentenced to 10 years in jail.
05:26Party Foul Halloween parties for kids are very common.
05:30Usually, they're over pretty early and don't affect neighbors for long. Some even enjoy the
05:34event. Other neighbors are Karens who have the patience of Leonardo DiCaprio when his partner
05:40turns 26. In 2019, Ashley Wilkerson was livid about the kids' party near her home in Pottsboro,
05:47Texas. So, was she reasonable and spoke to the parents about the noise or put up with it for a
05:52few hours? Nope, Wilkerson threatened the partygoers with her firearm. Yep, this massive escalation
05:59caused the police to be called, who arrested and charged Wilkerson for her unhinged threats.
06:05Mayor Menace
06:24In 2022, a family was driving down a road near Portland, Oregon when they noticed an SUV being
06:31driven erratically. When the SUV pulled over, the family slowed down to get a description of the
06:36driver and the car for the cops. Suddenly, a person got out of the SUV and fired upon the family.
06:42Thankfully, no one was injured. The assailant turned out to be Dowin Jones, who had been mayor
06:54of Rufus, Oregon since 2018. The mayor was arrested for his near-fatal road rage. In 2023,
07:02on top of a new mayor being elected in Rufus, Jones pleaded guilty to a lesser charge than
07:07attempted murder and was sentenced to 18 months in jail and fined $13,000. Jealous friend fiend
07:24In 2022 was a crazy year for Karen Halloween hijinks. In New Britain, Pennsylvania,
07:35Felicia Elizabeth Acosta let the green-eyed monster take over at her party. Many of us have been there,
07:41getting slightly jealous of someone else hanging out with your friend. It's annoying,
07:45sure, but we move on. However, not many of us have resorted to Acosta's actions.
07:55Upon seeing her friend going outside with another chum, Acosta accused them in a jealous rage.
08:02She then attacked one of her friends several times. Unsurprisingly, after the assault,
08:07the cops were called, and they arrested Acosta for assault and harassment,
08:11giving us a Halloween-themed mugshot. Hatchet Horror
08:16In 2021, Theodore Iknamu and Vivian Bertrand were being nuisances in Placerville, California.
08:27They were walking down the street with a knife and a hatchet, destroying windows,
08:32knocking over signs, and smearing fake blood on property. When the vandals were confronted
08:36by Christine Hall and her friend, Iknamu and Bertrand got violent as they attacked them
08:41with their weapons. When they tried to escape, the friend managed to hold on to Bertrand for
08:58the cops, while Iknamu was found later in a creek. The friend sustained a hand injury while Hall was
09:04left blind in one eye. In 2023, Iknamu was sentenced to four years in jail and Bertrand
09:10received two two-year sentences to be served concurrently. Hall says she went to court that
09:16day and found closure. Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to

09:35Defending the indefensible
09:39Halloween is next week, as you know, right? I mean, this year the costume police are cracking
09:43down like never before. Some people don't seem to realize that just because you were allowed to do
09:48something in your past, it doesn't mean it's an okay thing to do today. In 2018, the host of
09:55Megyn Kelly Today defended people who used blackface for Halloween costumes. Kelly stated
10:01when she was a child, it was fine when they were dressing up as a character.
10:14Failing to notice times have changed, Kelly received so much backlash for her comments.
10:19Even her on-air apology and internal email to colleagues weren't enough to save her show from
10:24being cancelled by NBC just over a year after it began airing. Several months later, in 2019,
10:31Kelly's contract with the network was torn up. Who would you rather confront on Halloween?
10:46Freddy Krueger or a Karen? Let us know below.
