00:00It's going to work out.
00:02Oh my gosh.
00:04The official gets in the way.
00:06The game is over.
00:08Oh, he did.
00:12Oh, they're going to look at this.
00:14It's going to be over because the umpire
00:16has to touch the ball.
00:18Of course, that's ridiculous for a game
00:20to end like that, Jim.
00:22That's the end of the game.
00:24The game is over.
00:26And San Francisco
00:28survives and advances.
00:30Now, back
00:32to the morning roast with
00:34Bonte and Shaski.
00:36That was Niners-Cowboys
00:38January 16, 2022.
00:40Of course, the regular season
00:42was 2021. First wild card
00:44game down at Big D and the Niners were
00:46rolling 23-7 at that football game.
00:48And that was Dak Prescott
00:50at the end. They had a play.
00:52They tried to spike it. They couldn't get the spike off in time.
00:54Game over. Niners
00:56escape. They go to Lambeau Field the next Saturday.
00:58Beat up on the Packers before losing
01:00to the Rebs in the NFC Championship
01:02game. That was a fun game.
01:04That was my, yep, CBS Sports
01:06Jimenez, Tony Romo,
01:08which was weird that it was on CBS Sports
01:10and it wasn't on Fox. Cowboys-Niners.
01:12When you think about Cowboys-Niners, you think about Fox
01:14and put some or all in that and whatnot.
01:16But anyway, Nance and Romo were cool on that
01:18game. Jimmy Garoppolo, that one.
01:2016-25,
01:22172. He had an egregious interception.
01:24Oh, he was throwing it into no man's land.
01:26It flipped the entire football game.
01:28Was that the one where Ayuk was wide open?
01:30No, that was another play. The post-corner
01:32and he threw it into the sideline.
01:34Yeah, I have
01:36a perfect vantage point. Remember, I flew down and got COVID
01:38in Texas. Maybe I took COVID with me
01:40or came back with COVID. But anyway, it was
01:42a great trip. It was a lifetime memory.
01:44It was a lot of fun. I went down there by myself.
01:46Met some great Niner fans like Marcus Bosworth.
01:48My boy Santana.
01:50Met a lot of great people down there. We ran
01:52my boy, the hitting coach,
01:54Donnie Ecker.
01:56He's now with the Rangers. He's the World Series
01:58champion after leaving, moving on
02:00from the Giants.
02:02That was the first of a couple beatdowns
02:04by the 49ers to the Dallas Cowboys. The next year,
02:06they meet in the playoffs. The Niners beat them.
02:08And of course, last year, the regular season,
02:10the Niners beat them 42-10.
02:12So, they beat them with Jimmy.
02:14They beat them with Brock.
02:16They've got some old age over the Cowboys.
02:18The Cowboys currently are
02:20in a real big,
02:22tough spot. This is a huge moment
02:24in their season.
02:26It sounds like Micah's not going to play.
02:28I'm looking at their run defense.
02:30Bonte, they give up almost 150 yards
02:32per game. That's eighth worst.
02:34And they've played two of the worst run
02:36offenses already.
02:38That number would be close to 185 if you took
02:40those two games out per game.
02:42So, the Niners have to be able to establish
02:44the run in this one. They also,
02:46though, give up almost eight yards
02:48per pass, which is seventh worst.
02:50So, you're looking at a team right now
02:52in the Dallas Cowboys. The defense
02:54just isn't there. They don't
02:56stop the run. They're giving up big chunk
02:58plays in the pass.
03:00This is a game for the offense to get right.
03:02And then I look at the Niners and I'm like,
03:04you got a bunch of young
03:06and unproven wide receivers playing with no
03:08Brandon Aiyu. I'm just going
03:10to think that Debo is going to be
03:12limited. I mean, maybe he'll suit up.
03:14I don't know.
03:16Sounds like he might give it a go.
03:18Sounds like he might give it a go, but
03:20look, Pearsall's going to get elevated
03:22on the depth chart. I've got to figure that
03:24Jacob Cowley will get more runs.
03:26And you've got to run the ball up these guys' throats.
03:28You've got to run the ball.
03:30Run the ball.
03:32Run the ball. Run the ball.
03:34And get pretty comfortable. Play action
03:36passes. This defense is not
03:38good. The Cowboys don't belong on the same field
03:40as the 49ers. Let's just keep it a buck.
03:42They do not belong on the same field as the 49ers.
03:44This year's Niner team has been very inconsistent.
03:46They have been very inconsistent, but
03:48if the Niners are buttoned up, the Cowboys
03:50don't belong on the same field as them.
03:52If the Niners are playing up to their capabilities, which we've yet
03:54to see. I get it. We've yet to see it.
03:56And you're probably not going to have Jawaad Jinnings,
03:58but you have the better head coach. You have the
04:00better quarterback. You have the better running back.
04:02You have the better defensive end. You have the
04:04better middle linebacker. You have the better secondary.
04:06You may have the better
04:08offensive line, which is kind of crazy to say.
04:10You've got the better team. You've got the better
04:12roster, and you're at home.
04:14You brought up Dak by
04:16breaking down the quarterbacks. Him and CD
04:18have not been as effective this year as they've
04:20been in years past. 58%
04:22of his targets have been caught.
04:24That's Dak targeting CD.
04:26That's like almost
04:2860th in the league. Training camp.
04:30No question. And then the other
04:32part of this, last year, he caught
04:3475% of his passes that were coming his way.
04:36The red zone offense
04:38is 30th in the NFL,
04:40and Dak himself has three turnovers
04:42in the last two weeks
04:44in the red zone. So,
04:46all the same issues the Niners have been having
04:48offensively and defensively,
04:50it feels like the Dallas Cowboys
04:52have as well. This feels like
04:54a turning point for one of the two teams
04:56in this game. It definitely
04:58is. Let's go to Lucky of the City. Lucky,
05:00what's happening?
05:02What's up, fellas? How y'all
05:04doing this morning? Doing great.
05:06Now,
05:08I heard the statement that you
05:10made, man, that a lot of the Niner
05:12fans having this nervous energy.
05:14What are you nervous for?
05:16We've been down this road before.
05:18It's just like in the city.
05:20You walk through the hood,
05:22you might have a few
05:24battles on your way to school, but
05:26you make it to school, you do your
05:28work. Absolutely. Right, Booker Cole?
05:30Absolutely. You're not lying.
05:32You can keep your head on the swivel, no doubt.
05:34You keep your head
05:36on the swivel.
05:38The Niners, man, need to have their head on
05:40the swivel, and whoever
05:42we have left on the team, I don't
05:44care who it is. Step up.
05:46It's time.
05:48It's your opportunity.
05:50I don't care if you're a first round,
05:52second round, roster, rookie,
05:54Jacob Cowley, Pierce Hall,
05:56all of them. Evan Anderson,
05:58step up, man.
06:00I'll say this, Bonte and Butcher Boy,
06:02push come to shove, man.
06:04Tell Kyle Shanahan to
06:06give me a call. Email me, man.
06:08I'll come out there and play some DB
06:10for him, man. I'll come out there and run
06:12the screen and play for him, man. I'm serious.
06:14I'm serious, man.
06:16Bonte.
06:18Yeah, I love your energy.
06:20That's what I'm talking about. No scared energy,
06:22man. Like you said, they've been down
06:24this road before. This Corps has been down
06:26this road before. Get on your ass.
06:28Get out of your A-game. Stay on your blocks.
06:30Look, it's time, Butcher Boy,
06:32for the Niners to lace their boots up,
06:34put on their hard hats,
06:36and I'll hear you talking about
06:38Stafford, Butcher Boy. That kind of hurts
06:40my heart. Brock Purdy
06:42is our dude.
06:44Give him a chance, man.
06:46Hasn't he proved it to you guys?
06:48Yes.
06:50From day one. Give him a shot.
06:52Let's roll. Niners, let's go, baby.
06:54Let's go.
06:56Let's go.
06:58Let's roll. Niners, let's go, baby.
07:00Let's go.
07:02Lucky's ready to roll. I'm not mad at that.
07:04Is that the first I'm-ready-to-roll
07:06call we've gotten all week about Cowboys-Niners?
07:08We had one yesterday.
07:10Was it somebody at Hayward I want to say?
07:12Somebody called when I went on my
07:14little Jerry Jo Dreads. Waterman.
07:16Waterman and Cordova Darrell was fired up
07:18about it, but I've been walking around
07:20town, keep my ear to the street.
07:22Everybody wants to
07:24talk Warriors. Warriors, Warriors, Warriors, Warriors,
07:26and I'm cool with that. Everybody wants to talk
07:28Warriors. It's week eight.
07:30We don't want to talk 49ers either?
07:32Is that what's going on around here?
07:34We that shook? We don't want to talk-
07:36It's Niners and Cowboys, for crying out loud.
07:38On Sunday Night Football. Sunday Night Football
07:40by Tariqo. What jerseys are the Niners
07:42wearing? The throwbacks, right?
07:44Is it the red- Yeah, throwbacks. With the white pants?
07:46What are the Cowboys wearing? They're a little white
07:48and whatever. I like when they wear the
07:50Navy Star thing where
07:52the shoulders are blue.
07:54Like dark blue. I like those ones. The 94
07:56throwbacks. Oh, the 94 throwbacks. I do.
07:58I like those ones. I think those are really
08:00cool. We can look at the jerseys they're wearing during
08:02the break. The uniform
08:04codes or whatnot. I didn't know the Rams were wearing their
08:06jerseys yesterday. What do you call those?
08:08The bone. The bone jerseys.
08:10They do look kind of sick though. They've kind of warmed up on me.
08:12One thing I was thinking watching that game, just
08:14to throw something your way,
08:16I've thought about like, hey man, the Rams
08:18are always injured so much. It's that damn
08:20turf. So if I say-
08:22Yeah, it's the turf. They've got to put grass in there.
08:24That team is consistently
08:26injured. The Vikings lost their left
08:28tackle to a very bad knee injury. I'm not saying
08:30it's because of the turf,
08:32but that could change their season.
08:34Well, he got rolled up on and it changed the second
08:36half for the Minnesota Vikings. Stardew had no
08:38time to throw the football. No time to
08:40throw. So that was a
08:42problem for them and that's a problem for them moving forward
08:44as they fight that division and all of a sudden
08:46the Vikings have come back down to Earth.
08:48The Lions are lighting them up. The Rams
08:50are lighting them up. They're giving up the run.
08:52They're not getting pressure on the quarterback.
08:54They could be another team in the mix on another
08:56pass rusher too.
08:58What did McVay do last night
09:00against Brian Flores' defense
09:02that we didn't see from Kyle Shanahan?
09:04Well, I just thought he manipulated.
09:06He attacked them.
09:08He wasn't- I don't know. He had an answer
09:10for their blitzes. It was crazy.
09:12I don't know if Minnesota even blitzed that much.
09:14They were dropping off.
09:16You know what it was?
09:18It was almost as if
09:20Brian Flores didn't respect
09:22the Niners' receiving core
09:24and their offensive line. So he said, just go get Brock
09:26Purdy. We're going to play man defense.
09:28Go get Brock Purdy. Because it feels like
09:30Stafford made some really dynamic throws.
09:32He made some dynamic throws. But Minnesota
09:34was dropping guys back in zone.
09:36I didn't see any heat. They weren't trying to heat
09:38up Stafford. It's like Brian Flores
09:40was like, you know, Matthew Stafford's a bad dude.
09:42I can't have the same game plan
09:44against the 49ers. So I was
09:46shocked at the way the Rams moved the ball
09:48up and down the field against Minnesota. I was
09:50blown away by that. And Puka is
09:52a star.
09:54Cooper Cupps lost his step because he's been
09:56injured a lot. Still a good player.
09:58Very good player. I don't know if I'd give him a second
10:00round pick, but still a very, very
10:02good player. Puka Nakua, I mean, he pops.
10:04I mean, he just pops.
10:06The guy is a really, really, really
10:08good player. If we get a fraction
10:10of that kind of production from Ricky Pearsall
10:12this year, we'll be lucky.
10:14That's how good he is.
10:16No, he's a legit rookie record for
10:18receiving yards and catches last season.
10:20Let's go to Chris in San Antonio before the break.
10:22Chris, what's happening?
10:24Bonte, Shersky,
10:26we got Niner fans out here
10:28in San Antonio, Texas that are ready
10:30for this game. Let me tell you,
10:32I live behind enemy lines.
10:34I got brother-in-laws.
10:36I got two brothers that
10:38are Cowboy fans. I am
10:40tired of the talking. We need to lace it
10:42up. We need to take it to them.
10:44We have a much better team.
10:46And I got my six-year-old daughter
10:48that's walking around with a sad face
10:50because our boys aren't handling business.
10:52We need a young man to step up.
10:54We need the running game going.
10:56And where's my defense at?
10:58Can my defense get a stop? Can my
11:00dogs eat?
11:02All right, Chris. He's ready to go.
11:04He's behind enemy lines in San Antonio,
11:06Texas. We'll go behind enemy lines
11:08coming up next with our main man, Mike
11:105'3", the fan. He's a big-time Mavericks
11:12fan, so we'll touch on Klay Thompson.
11:14Klay Thompson looked good.
11:16Asked us on the Comcast Business Text Line,
11:18how'd our boy Klay do? Klay did pretty well.
11:20He did pretty well. What did he have?
11:2222 points? 7 rebounds?
11:246 of 11? I think he had 10 in the first quarter.
11:26I mean, he was hooping.
11:28This is Klay Thompson.
