Henry Bryant speaks to Alex Burrows about how he became Brighton's Kitman and how the Albion have grown since being at the club.
Transcript
00:00Yeah, my name's Buzz, or Alex Burrows, and I'm the kit manager at Brighton Over Albion.
00:04I've been at the club about eight years, so I joined, I'm pretty sure I joined the season
00:09we got promoted, and I was in the academy for a while, the 21s and the 18s, and then
00:15yeah, just started working with the first team in Chris' last season, and then took
00:21over fully in Graham's first season, so yeah, seen quite a progression and finishing up
00:27the league, and yeah, into Europe. I used to work in Ghana, in Africa, I was in a football
00:33charity, and kind of came back looking for a job in football, and ended up in Brighton.
00:39I've always been a football fan and a football kit fan, never ever looked at this job, but
00:44then it kind of came out of nowhere, and then yeah, I love it, like, you know, me and my
00:49mates always grew up and we just wanted to be professional footballers, and I'm as close
00:53as I'm ever going to get to that, sitting on the bench at games, or close to the bench,
00:57and yeah, just been a really great experience, lots of travel, you see lots of places, not
01:03as glamorous as people think here in a hotel, and you know, for Europe we're in the airport
01:07hotels for two of the games, and you don't really get to see the city, but it was really
01:10nice in Rome in particular, we got to go out and have a little look around and stuff, but
01:14yeah, it's a lot of travel, but good, really good, and you need a great team around you,
01:20and I'm really lucky that the team I've got at the training ground, we've got, we've worked
01:24directly with the first team, we've got Callum, and then you've got Harry that supported a
01:28lot of the games in Europe in full, and then the women's staff, and the laundry, and all
01:31the other guys, Jordan and Matt, so it's been really good.
