00:00In San Fernando, Camarines Sur, B1 of Bayanihan.
00:05That's what the residents of San Fernando, Camarines Sur, B1 of Bayanihan,
00:08helped stranded passengers, motorists and truck drivers
00:13while the typhoon Christine is raging.
00:16That's what Rod Laguzan's live report. Rod?
00:22Ma'am, the residents of San Fernando, Camarines Sur,
00:26helped stranded passengers, motorists and truck drivers
00:33while the typhoon Christine is raging.
00:38Mang Ramon's truck has been driving stranded passengers here in Camarines Sur for several days.
00:43They came from Trinidad Benguet on Tuesday
00:45and brought vegetables to be planted in Daraga Albay.
00:49It's about to start, so if there's a chance that they'll be able to dispose of it,
00:55it's better because some of them have already been planted.
00:59It's about to start rotting.
01:02There's no guarantee when it will be able to be transplanted,
01:05so this is already a waste.
01:07The vegetables are expensive now, so I hope they'll be able to dispose of it.
01:10They are now discarding it.
01:12The truck was opened to be able to transport it
01:14and the vegetables were not allowed to be exposed
01:16to slow down the rotting process.
01:18The residents of the town helped them,
01:20especially with the food they were being given.
01:23Melvin, a truck driver, was touched by the help of a resident of the town.
01:27We are still rotting here.
01:29Until now, we haven't been able to dispose of it.
01:32The food we were being given by the barangay members,
01:35thank God, it was able to survive.
01:38We came from Lucena.
01:39We delivered food for pigs and chickens.
01:41We were hoping to be able to dispose of it, but we were stranded.
01:44Because there's no other place,
01:45Richard's family was able to get food from their truck.
01:49It's really hard, sir.
01:51We don't have a budget anymore.
01:53We're just trying to make ends meet.
01:56There are people who are willing to give us
01:58porridge, pancit, and other things.
02:01First, the LGU called on the residents to help the stranded.
02:05At the same time, they also helped the affected residents
02:09and the stranded who were able to eat,
02:11such as cooking goto.
02:13Because if you're on an ordinary bus,
02:15and you're just paying for food,
02:17you don't have money to buy food,
02:19and you don't expect that you'll be stranded for 4 days,
02:22it's really sad.
02:24LGU's mobile kitchen also sent Red Cross.
02:28For now, San Fernando LGU also helped
02:30to clear the river next to the town of Melaor
02:33so that the big trucks with help
02:36and the emergency vehicles can pass.
02:38You can see in this video that the cars were submerged,
02:41and the river was deep in the town.
02:44We're in command of all the volunteer services
02:48and all our rescue services,
02:53such as the MMD, the Philippine Marines,
02:57the Philippine Army, the Philippine Navy,
02:59the Air Force, and the police.
03:04San Fernando, Camarines Sur,
03:07it's important that this road is cleared
03:11here in the town of Melaor,
03:13especially because they're expecting
03:155,000 family foodpacks
03:17from the regional office of the DSWD
03:20coming from Albay.
03:22And so that the stranded buses and trucks can pass,
03:26especially since they need to cross
03:28to the other side of Bicol.
03:30Ma'am.
03:31Thank you very much, Rod Lagusan.
