00:00More than a hundred people were arrested and raided by the Pogo Hub in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

00:05Most of those arrested were those who escaped from the Pogo in Pampanga.

00:10Jesse Atienza has the details.

00:15Just outside of this house in Barangay Agos,

00:18this machine-operated barricade will meet the gate.

00:21A sign of tight security,

00:24it will enter the property that is registered as a tourist garden hotel.

00:28People were brought in by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission or PAOCC and the NBI

00:34along with other law enforcement agencies.

00:37It was successfully arrested 116 foreign nationals

00:41inside the compound from China, Indonesia, and Myanmar.

00:46It stemmed from a request from the Indonesian Embassy.

00:50There were three Indonesian nationals who were able to escape here on July 21.

00:58They sought the assistance of their embassy.

01:02Their embassy informed us,

01:06DOJ Yakat Local, NBI Local, and DOJ Manila.

01:12Then all those agencies contacted me.

01:15So we created an operational plan to rescue all of these foreign nationals.

01:22This is actually a rescue operation.

01:25We were just here to rescue the Indonesian nationals.

01:28But when we arrived here in Plagranti Dilipto, Kotingdiak,

01:32we saw that there were scum farms here.

01:36There were one there, one here, and one here.

01:40So we saw at least three scum farms.

01:44So run by Chinese, Malaysians,

01:47no, not Malaysians, Chinese, Indonesians, and Myanmar nationals.

01:51There were computers and other devices discovered by the authorities

01:56that, according to them, were used for love scams,

01:59cryptocurrency scams, and other illegal activities.

02:04Yes, this is 100% an illegal POGO.

02:09This is illegal because there is no POGO with a license here in Cebu Province.

02:13Zero.

02:14So this is illegal.

02:16All that we saw here is enough evidence to be able to file a cybercrime offense here

02:24for facilitating cybercrime-related gambling,

02:29cybercrime-related qualified trafficking.

02:33The PAOCC also confirmed that five POGO administrators were arrested

02:39and most of those arrested fled from Pampanga.

02:44So obviously, those five, according to the initial discussion and interview,

02:48they came from Pampanga.

02:52So also, according to our reports,

02:55most of these foreign nationals actually escaped from Pampanga.

03:01So after our raid in Pampanga,

03:03their managers, their owners, they were brought here.

03:07According to the authorities,

03:08foreign nationals are not allowed to leave the compound

03:12due to the tight security that is enforced around the compound.

03:16As you can see, the compound is quite large.

03:21So they are restricted here.

03:23Their movements are restricted here.

03:33Yeah, you can see at the back portion,

03:35parang may restaurant, may bar.

03:39A hotel.

03:40There's a hotel there, multilevel, with many rooms.

03:46As we are not finished searching now,

03:50they are ongoing.

03:52We are ongoing.

03:53So may entertainment rooms din po?

03:55Yeah, entertainment rooms.

03:57There's bar.

03:58All of the arrested foreign nationals have been profiled

04:02while the authorities are filing charges

04:06against those who are involved in illegal activities.

04:09This is an indication of how serious is the danger

04:12of the illegal operations of POGO hubs in the country.
