00:00Dull and cool for some today, warm and sunny for others.
00:04And there's some strong winds and a bit of heavy rain to talk about too.
00:07It's a very messy weather picture right now.
00:09You can see from the satellite image there's a big swirl down to the southwest.
00:13Angry looking area of low pressure.
00:16The isobars are quite close together, bringing some gusty winds to the isles of Scilly.
00:20This weather front is arching its way slowly northwards as well.
00:24That is bringing some rain, particularly across parts of Wales,
00:27extending up towards the Midlands and eventually into southern parts of Northern Ireland.
00:32We may see the odd shower crop up across the southeast of England too.
00:35Meanwhile, further east, it's pretty cloudy.
00:38Northeast England, eastern Scotland staying fairly dull.
00:41A little bit of rain across northern Scotland.
00:43Meanwhile, southwest Scotland, northwest England, actually seeing some sunshine.
00:48And with some sunshine here, temperatures could easily get up to 17 or 18 degrees.
00:52We may see similar temperatures in and around London,
00:55perhaps also north Norfolk if it brightens up.
00:57We'll see some sunny spells developing in south Wales and southwest England too,
01:01but as I mentioned here, some quite gusty winds
01:03and a few scattered showers for Devon, Cornwall and the isles of Scilly.
01:07As I said, it is a bit of a messy one.
01:09As we go through the evening, that arc of rain will push further northwards,
01:13turning damp through the evening.
01:14Rush hour across into the Belfast area and that rain will work its way into southern Scotland,
01:19but kind of fizzle out as it does so.
01:21Looking down to the southeast, a bit more rain could push up from France
01:24and we'll see wet weather coming into the northwest also.
01:27In between, many places dry, some lengthy clear spells,
01:31still quite breezy in the southwest with the odd shower.
01:34But with lighter winds further north, it could turn a little misty,
01:37it could turn a little cool.
01:38But generally, temperatures still well above average for the time of year,
01:41double digits in many towns and cities to start the weekend.
01:45We're also going to start the weekend still with this rather bitty weather.
01:48There's more cloud and some patchy rain across the southeast and east Anglia,
01:53thickening cloud, strengthening winds and heavier rain pushing into the far northwest.
01:59But many other areas in between seeing quite a bit of sunshine on Saturday
02:03and the winds will be easing off across the southwest as well.
02:07By the afternoon, that rain pushing down towards Glasgow and again across Northern Ireland
02:11to also the winds switching direction in the far northwest,
02:15introducing slightly cooler conditions here.
02:17But again, for many, particularly the sunshine, light winds feeling quite pleasant.
02:21But with that thicker cloud, there will be some drizzly rain at times across east Anglia,
02:26perhaps Lincolnshire and the southeast of England too.
02:29That's likely to ebb away during Saturday evening as this weather front starts to push the rain away.
02:36That's really a line of rain.
02:38So an hour or two of wet weather pushing through southern Scotland
02:41into northwest England and north Wales by Saturday evening.
02:44Those two weather fronts then continue to edge away during Saturday night
02:49and cooler air following on behind means Sunday morning will start pretty chilly.
02:53But this is a ridge of high pressure building across the south,
02:57more weather fronts toppling in towards the northwest.
03:00So Sunday sees a pretty cold start, but generally a fine start with some sunshine.
03:06And much of the southern half of the UK will stay fine and sunny all day on Sunday.
03:10But further north, the cloud will thicken.
03:12That weather system bringing cloud and rain into western Scotland across Northern Ireland.
03:16The rain a little patchier across eastern Scotland and the wind starting to strengthen as well.
03:21Temperatures a little lower.
03:23We're in the cooler area after that chilly start.
03:25Temperatures by the afternoon though 12, 13 degrees.
03:27So pretty close to the average for the time of year.
03:30As you can see, quite a bit going on with the weather.
