00:00This is a problem now for the residents of Lemery, Batangas.

00:06After the flood, some of them are having a hard time buying food.

00:19Angelic, until now, there are still impassable roads here in the province of Batangas.

00:26That's why the LGUs here, Angelic, are doing their own road clearing operations.

00:32The DPWH is happy, just like them, in the town of Lemery.

00:38The length of the bypass road of Barangay Malinis of Lemery, Batangas, was missed.

00:44Because of the blocked, thick pudic on the so-called road.

00:49Carried by the flood, because of the strong rain yesterday,

00:52the flood hit the area.

00:54One of the drivers of the tanker truck, Mang Ray, was stranded.

00:58He hasn't been able to leave the area for a day.

01:02It was pouring down here.

01:04I thought it was going to continue.

01:05Then I realized that the pudic was already big there.

01:07His story is that he was already there when he was hit by the strong rain.

01:11He said that his truck, which he was driving, passed through the pudic last night.

01:15His problem now is that he can't eat because there are almost no stores in the area.

01:21It's hard. He can't eat.

01:24He can't eat. There's no tomorrow.

01:26This is one of the goals of the Department of Social Welfare and Development of the DSWD,

01:31to provide food to the stranded because of the bad weather.

01:35The DOST, FNRI, and the NNC to formulate the contents of our Ready to Eat Food.

01:41Of course, the objective there is to provide momentary relief

01:46to the disaster-affected populations within 24 hours of their displacement.

01:52As of now, the stranded have been given to the affected areas of Baguio-Christine

01:58under the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

02:02Yesterday, we also received directives to communicate with the Philippine Ports Authority

02:08to identify the ports where there are many stranded.

02:12Because, as directed by the President yesterday,

02:14this is one of the areas where the stranded are.

02:19The contents of the Ready to Eat Box are champorado and arroz caldo,

02:24which only requires hot water.

02:26There are also biscuits and easy-to-open-can goods.

02:29The DSWD has ensured that these are nutritious.

02:33The nutritional requirements of the vulnerable sector will be addressed.

02:39According to the government, each Ready to Eat Food Box will cost from Php 600 to Php 700.

02:46The DSWD also announced that in the next year,

02:50there will be a sufficient stock of Ready to Eat Food Boxes.

02:57Angelic, there are also villages here in Batangas where there is still no electricity.

03:02And here where I am standing right now, I am in the town of Agoncillo.

03:07Their municipal hall is now a charging station.

03:12All of their residents come here to charge their cell phones.

03:17I can see that some of their laptops are also being charged here.

03:22And earlier, Angelic, I also saw that relief goods are also being distributed here from the DSWD.

03:31Their mayor confirmed that there are already five relief goods here because of the typhoon Christine.
