00:00Fellow countrymen, before the Philippine Area of Responsibility is released, the typhoon Vika has already weakened.

00:06But it's not the only thing that is being monitored now because the PAR has already entered the Ophel typhoon.

00:23Good afternoon. This is the latest update. The Philippine Area of Responsibility has completed the two weeks of the typhoon Vika.

00:35As expected, the typhoon Vika is away from the country, 225 kilometers west-northwest of Lawag City, Ilocos Norte.

00:45It has weakened to 95 kilometers per hour. The typhoon is high in the middle and it has a gustiness of 115 kilometers per hour.

00:55At the moment, it is giving 10 kilometers per hour to the north-westward. It is expected that it will leave the country this afternoon.

01:03In fact, the signal number one is still high in the northern portion of Ilocos Norte, northern portion of Apayau, northwestern portion of Cagayan and northwestern portion of Baboyan Islands.

01:19Here in Metro Manila, we did not expect the effects of the typhoon Vika.

01:25At the moment, just like what we forecast earlier, the typhoon Ophel has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

03:21Based on the Tropical Cyclone Threat Potential that you released this morning, this typhoon Pepito is hitting the area of Visayas.

03:30Is there a weather system that is affecting the direction of the typhoon?

03:35As of now, we haven't seen anything yet.

03:39But usually, the typhoon Vermont is tracking the direction of the typhoon.

03:48Since the typhoon Pepito or the typhoon Mangyi, their national name, is just entering, we haven't seen anything yet.

04:01The concentration is still high, so we haven't detected the exact lantern or whether this will be released or not.

04:11But we are still looking for a Philippine area of responsibility to continue monitoring Pag-asa, this typhoon,

04:20and we can be sure that we will have an update on where this will really hit.

04:26Sir Simon, in the areas where this typhoon will hit, what should be monitored, especially since the rain is still not stopping in their area?

04:35Yes. We are still hoping that we will be careful, especially in isolated thunderstorms.

04:42There are regional services division of Pag-asa in different areas of the Philippines.

04:47They will issue rain forewarnings associated to their areas.

04:54That's why we are hoping that Pag-asa will coordinate with their LTOs so that our countrymen will be careful in their areas.

05:02Sir, we would also like to ask for an update on the strong winds.

05:05When this enters the country, what will be the effect of this on the incoming typhoons?

05:11Since for now, the winds are not that strong.

05:16But the effect of this is that it can push down the tracking of the typhoon.

05:20So it is possible that the tracking of our typhoon will be directed to Visayas or most of the time Visayas area or here in Southern Luzon.

05:31Since we don't feel any strong winds, the typhoon is just following the tracking to the northwestward direction.
