How important is it for Drake Maye to get everyone involved in the offense? Do the receivers have a gripe with AVP?
Transcript
00:00Morning, Greg. Yesterday, Drake May spoke to the media, and this is what my guy said about distributing the ball
00:06and keeping guys involved in the offense.
00:10Yeah, I think it's a big deal. I think at the same time, it's also something that I keep in mind of getting guys
00:16to the ball, especially in one-on-one scenarios. You know, we have different guys that make plays.
00:19I think there's definitely times in games where, hey, I'm going to tell you, hey, if you're one-on-one,
00:23next time I'm coming your way. You know, I told KB that later in the game that I need to give him some more chances.
00:27He's a good player for us. So, you know, little things like that, you know, I care about.
00:31You know, them guys want the football, and they want the football, and try to feed them all.
00:35It's really interesting that you hear something like that from Drake.
00:38And there's stories, I believe, from his high school coach talking about how at halftime in some games,
00:43he would look at the box score to make sure he's distributing the ball to as many different receivers as possible.
00:48And so you hear that from Drake. You hear the past stories from Drake.
00:51I find it very interesting that a guy like Keyshawn Booty, who led your receiver core in time on the field with 83% of the snaps,
00:59only had two targets in the last game. So to me, this is a clear indication that some of these receivers have gripes,
01:08not with the quarterback, but with Alex Van Pelt in particular, because Alex Van Pelt is the one designing these plays.
01:13He designs the progression of reads that Drake May has to go through, and Keyshawn Booty is clearly not getting any reads,
01:19even though he's on the field a ton. It makes no sense to me, as Wiggy said very appropriately already in the first segment.
01:27Does that math make math?
01:28It doesn't, and thank you. That's my lead today.
