00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was quick to plan the loss of water in dams due to the typhoon.

00:07The President also asked Bicol Region for help, which was first affected by the severe tropical storm, Christine.

00:14Details of this were reported by Kenneth Paciente of PTV.

00:20Expect a heavy downpour when the typhoon lands.

00:24That's why President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was quick to plan the loss of water in dams due to the typhoon.

00:30The President's directive was to plan the loss of water in dams in the Luzon area.

00:35This is so that no one will be affected by the flood in the community.

00:38He needs to gradually reduce the loss of water in dams while there is still no high water level.

00:44What can the downstream communities tolerate in terms of additional water?

00:50And do that, and try to release that amount, just that amount, so that it won't cause damage, flood, or flood.

02:14More than 2 million family food packs have been pre-positioned in affected areas and the distribution is ongoing.

02:21Aside from providing assistance, the President is also planning a quick rescue for those in need.

02:26According to the Department of National Defense, EDCA sites are ready to be activated

02:31in case of international relief or assistance from other countries.

02:35The assets of the country are also ready for a possible rescue operation.

02:40The AFP is also continuing to monitor the situation so that we will be able to activate the EDCA sites

02:49which were put there specifically for this purpose.

02:52We have the available assets to answer for lift capabilities as of this time.

02:58However, in the exercise of caution, we are planning two things.

03:07To foresee the effects in the coming days.

03:10In the aftermath of the Disaster Risk Convention, we are coordinating now with our ASEAN neighbors.

03:19I have already talked to our Singaporean ambassador to marshal their capabilities for airlift and other manpower assistance.

03:28The government is already working on sending rubber boats to the Bicol region for the trapped residents.

03:35As soon as we can enter, we will be doing that.

03:38And we are now beginning to marshal our assets.

03:43For example, rubber boats.

03:44By midday, we will get them and bring them here to the area of need.
