Wolves held Manchester City for all that of 95 minutes in their Premier League clash at Molineux. As VAR is once again the harsh talking point for the Black Country outfit, they are still searching for their first league win of the campaign and time could be running thin for Gary O’Neil?

00:00So Charlie, starting with Wolves and obviously a real tough result to take on the weekend
00:07against Manchester City. They sort of did their job for all but of 95 minutes and then
00:13you know John Stones pops up with a winner for the champions with some VAR controversy
00:19as well. What was sort of O'Neill's thoughts after the game and you know Wolves fans have
00:24to be feeling some positives. You know they led against the champions, they played really
00:27well in that first half especially. This surely gives a bit of positivity going round
00:34and you know a lot of fans will be thinking surely if they play like this and they can
00:39keep this consistency that there can't be a team that get relegated.
00:44Yeah you'd think so and I think the good thing and the silver lining for Wolves is the fact
00:47that at the bottom of the standing so many of the teams are struggling as well. Those
00:51that were promoted only on the point or three so all it takes is one win or two and then
00:56just like Everson has shown in the last couple of weeks you're well out of the relegation
00:59zone, well out of trouble and you can start thinking about mid-table perhaps. In terms
01:03of what Gary O'Neill was talking about in the press conference, very proud of his players.
01:08Of course 30 seconds away from earning a point against Manchester City is no mean feat especially
01:13when you're on the team right at the bottom of the standings. When you're a side that's
01:16conceded six to Chelsea at home this season, City are a step above that and to concede
01:22only two is a positive in itself. It might not seem like it being another defeat and
01:26not claiming any points whatsoever but the way they played, how resilient they were,
01:30their focus remained for so much longer than it did in other fixtures this season including
01:35Newcastle as well you could argue. Little lapses, lamps that shoot from range and score
01:39their goals. So yeah plenty of positives but there was that VAR controversy that you've
01:45alluded to there. It's a goal I think quite simply and most people would argue that but
01:51the problem is Wolves had a very similar goal disallowed last season for Max Kilmer against
01:56West Ham when Tawandan Shiraewa was next to Fabianski and the referee decided that because
02:02he was in such close proximity it didn't matter if he was in the eyeline or not and that he
02:07was interrupting. Could you argue that's the exact same for Bernardo Silva? Well that's
02:11what Gary O'Neill thinks but obviously I think at this point he's learned to respect the
02:16referee's decisions otherwise he could get in hot water.
02:19And where the Wolves look to sort of turn it around, obviously some more winnable fixtures
02:23coming up, City was the big one, you know they real failed away at Brentford but can
02:28you see a sort of few points before the next international break at least?
02:32You'd hope so, I mean Brighton away is a very tough fixture and they've just beaten Newcastle
02:37United, they've won five of their opening games and that's going to be very tough indeed
02:42but then you've got Crystal Palace at home, one of the sides that's struggling most in
02:45the division and then Southampton at home who have been probably the worst team along
02:51with Wolves so you've got to claim at least one win out of those and maybe a draw or two
02:55as well and if they do then there'll be a lot of positivity around Molineux.
