Wolves have experienced an awful start to life in the top flight this season. Too many goals conceded, not enough shape around what used to be a solid side under Gary O’Neil and there’s also a lack of goals in the team aswell.
We’re looking at the latest from the club and how they are aiming to turn things around.

00:00On to Wolves and obviously not a great start and real question marks being asked following
00:07that defeat away at Brentford. Conceding five goals is really inexcusable in a Premier League
00:13game but scoring three goals you do expect to maybe come away with some kind of result
00:18and it was a crazy afternoon in Brentford, eight goals throughout the game. How do Wolves
00:24assess that? There was some positives maybe with Strand-Larsen getting his first Premier
00:30League goal. It hasn't quite hit the ground running and obviously Kounia is still scoring
00:37but there is big problems defensively for Wolves. How do they go about this now that
00:43Manchester City are home next, which they obviously won last season. It's quite a crazy
00:48situation to be in so far, so early on in the season as well.
00:52It's unbelievable how many goals Wolves are leaking at the moment. Three per game on average
00:56is just simply not good enough and that will get most managers sacked. If it wasn't for
01:00this really difficult fixture around the start of the season, I think Gary O'Neill probably
01:04would have seen the exit door. There's a lot of belief from Matt Hobbs and the whole Wolves
01:09board that he will be able to turn things around and that's why we've not seen any action
01:12taken just yet. But you can't be losing 5-3 away at Brentford. I know it's an away tie
01:17but Brentford haven't exactly set the world alight. They have been scoring early goals,
01:21they've been starting games well but they've also been quite leaky defensively. In the
01:25end it was a very end-to-end clash and Brentford, the more clinical Wolves, positionally just
01:30terrible at the back. Eitenuri and left-back, I just don't have any assurances on him any
01:35more defensively. Maybe in a back three when he can play a bit further up the field and
01:40you have someone like Totti tucking in, it works a bit better. But with so many injuries,
01:44Gary O'Neill, to be fair to him, he has been limited with his selections and it has cost
01:48Wolves a very tough game coming up against Manchester City. Probably not going to be
01:52much reprieve in that game either and a trip to Brighton as well. Two teams that can score
01:57plenty of goals and Wolves, they probably need to change their system or at least something
02:01needs to change unless the manager will have to go.
02:04There was obviously a massive change with Jose Sarr, the club's number one for the past
02:10three or four seasons. Shipped straight out for Sam Johnston, the back-up keeper at Crystal
02:15Palace. That is a decision that, if it works, you are seen as a massive favourable with
02:23the fans. If it doesn't work, which it probably hasn't, you could say, with the amount of
02:27goals they are now conceding, that has to go down to the manager's decision. Completely
02:32been outcast, he was obviously linked with Saudi in the summer as well. It's a massive
02:36decision that Gary O'Neill has probably got wrong.
02:39Essentially, I think time will tell, there have been leaking goals no matter what the
02:43goalkeeper is, of course. Is it the goalkeepers? Is it a knock-on effect where the goalkeepers
02:47haven't got that confidence because of the defence in front of them? I think it's probably
02:51a mix of all of those elements. Stuff really needs to improve soon, otherwise, as you say,
02:57it's a very difficult situation in goal at Wolves.
