00:00It was questioned by the relatives of several missing soap operators that the investigation on the case was slow
00:05after almost three years of searching.
00:08But they say they still have hope, especially that a film festival will release a documentary about the case.
00:15Here is my exclusive coverage.
00:22January 6, 2022, a passenger van pulled a passenger from Kalumpit, Bulacan, Palipa, Batangas to the derby.
00:29They are Edgar Malaca, Ricardo Saqdalan, Alex Quijano, Teddy Javier, Jonalyn Lubugin, and brother Jeffrey and Nomer Depano.
00:38But since then, they have not been seen again.
00:41Their van was found abandoned in the Kalumpit area.
00:44If the seven friends and more than 20 other missing soap operators are in the van,
00:50their relatives still have hope after almost three years.
00:55It's painful.
00:57Until now, our families are missing.
01:05We don't know where we will end up.
01:11For the families of the missing people, can't the investigation start
01:16on the CCTV footage from the van of the victims,
01:19as well as the evidence that was found in the van?
01:23They say they still have hope,
01:25especially now that they know that one of the missing soap operators
01:29will appear in the Quezon City International Movie Festival.
01:33This is the journey of their families in finding their soap operators.
01:38The screening of the missing soap operators in the Cinemalaya Film Festival did not continue in August
01:43because of security reasons.
01:45When we heard that it happened, we were very sad.
01:50This is what we were hoping for, how we will be noticed.
01:55The Philippine National Police first said that the CIDG was ready to carry out the investigation.
02:01We want to assure the family that the PNP is not letting this go.
02:05Justice Secretary Boyeng Remulia said that the CIDG Director Nicolás Tore
02:11and NBI Director Jaime Santiago have already discussed the reopening of the case.
02:15We intend to follow through on the soap operators' cases.
02:20We do not intend to abandon anybody here.
02:23The fact that the families have not been following up with us lately
02:28is something that happens, but we are not abandoning our pursuit for justice.
