00:49Tiulaurel Jr. presented the strategic investment plan for the country's abaca, bamboo, mango

00:56and seaweed sectors.

00:57Tiulaurel encouraged foreign investors to engage in trade in the Philippines and to

01:02enhance cooperation towards a modern agri-food system.

01:06This initiative will lead to economic growth, create jobs and provide hope for our farmers.

01:1119 projects worth $41 million are being implemented by the FAO in the Philippines.

01:18These projects focus on establishing a resilient agricultural system capable of withstanding

01:24the impacts of climate change.

01:27Agriculture Secretary Tiulaurel Jr. met with Italian Minister of Agriculture Francesco

01:33Lollobrigida in Rome, Italy during the celebration of World Food Day.

01:37The bilateral meeting discussed providing employment opportunities for Filipino fisherfolk.

01:50The Department of Agriculture is optimistic about expanding the exports of tuna, pineapple,

01:56fish and coconut products to Italy, coinciding with the growth of the Filipino community

02:02In 2023, agricultural exports from the Philippines to Italy reach US$129 million.

02:10The National Dairy Authority aims for a 5% increase in milk production in the Philippines

02:16within the next five years.

02:18The agency plans to import 1,000 cows annually and conduct artificial insemination to improve

02:25local cattle breeds for better milk yield.

02:27It will also train milk producers on proper cattle handling to reduce mortality rates.

02:33We will increase the number of cows by importing them to a stock farm, which will be a multiplier

02:43farm.

02:44It will take care of the NDA to increase and we will give the milk to the farmers.

02:50Boosting milk production is crucial to address malnutrition in the country.

02:54This initiative also provides a great opportunity for farmers to meet the rising demand for

02:59milk.
