00:00Sandigan Bayan finds Datu Sajid Islam Ampatuan guilty of graft and malversation of public funds.
00:07The case stemmed from the 400 million in public funds supposedly intended to construct
00:12and rehabilitate farm-to-market roads in Maguindanao.
00:16With a guilty verdict, he was sentenced to serve time from 8 to 12 years of imprisonment
00:21and is perpetually disqualified to hold any public office.
00:25Also for malversation of public funds, he is sentenced with reclusion perpetua decision
00:31and ordered to pay a fine amounting to Php 393 million, the same amount malversed.
00:38Meanwhile, the Sandigan Bayan acquitted Danny Taki Kalib in both cases,
00:42as the prosecution failed to prove his guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
00:47Ampatuan was the former governor, while Kalin was the state auditor of the province.
