00:00Friends, I just got the new Apple Watch Series 7. Let's check it out.

00:14Good day, you beautiful people. Welcome to Ysera's Tech, where we do tech in your life, in style.
00:20It's about time we do this video. We are unboxing the Apple Watch Series 7.
00:26And not only do I have the watch, I have cool new straps as well.
00:29We're gonna be putting it side by side with a 45mm. Yes, I got the 41mm Apple Watch.
00:35And even the Apple Watch SE just to compare.
00:37Without further ado, let's open this up.
00:42Ooh, there's a texture to that.
00:44This is the Series 7 41mm in Starlight.
00:48Aside from the watch, I also have some watch straps that we're gonna check out a little later on.
00:52And they are in dark cherry because, you guessed it, I have the dark cherry leather case and wallet on my iPhone.
00:59And yes, I do have a video on this. I'll link it up here and down below.
01:07There are two things in this box. You have the actual watch and the new strap in Starlight as well.
01:15Moment of truth.
01:20You have paperwork.
01:23And then you have the new Apple Watch fast charger.
01:29And you can tell because this USB-C looks a little thicker.
01:33The dock is also not all white anymore.
01:39It's tiny.
01:43Shiny.
01:44It's pretty interesting, this color Starlight.
01:47So Apple describes it as sort of like a mix between gold and silver.
01:52And I feel like it shows off more silver in the shot right now.
01:57But it does have a hint of gold or champagne.
02:01It's not fully like silver.
02:04Man, that's definitely tiny.
02:07So because I have really small wrists, I always worry about the wearables I get.
02:12And I feel like I'm gonna be just fine.
02:15You have that rotating crown on the side.
02:18You have that button.
02:20Speakers.
02:21Right, let's open up the strap before we look at this more.
02:28You have paperwork.
02:29Paperwork baked into the packaging.
02:32Two sizes for the second part of the strap.
02:34Now obviously I'm gonna be using this because I have teeny tiny wrists.
02:41These are the straps that you get with your Apple Watch.
02:44Again, I have the 41mm version in Starlight.
02:47Really nice.
02:48Now they're not actually white or brown.
02:51They're more of a taupe.
02:53I like that because that looks very nice and neutral.
02:56But at the same time, I feel like this is a strap that won't dirty fast.
03:05Now I have the Apple Watch SE in rose gold and a Nomad leather strap.
03:09Time for a change.
03:10I have teeny wrists.
03:12I actually measured when I got my Apple Watch SE.
03:14I got a solo loop.
03:16And this was 13.5cm all around.
03:20And that was a size 2 for this solo loop.
03:26I'm not even on the last hole.
03:30Nice.
03:31That fits really well, I feel.
03:34I'm gonna turn this on and set it up.
03:35And you know what's next, you guys?

04:07But wait, before we move on to more of the watch.
04:09We still have these.
04:11I'm pretty excited.
04:12I really like this color.
04:13Though, if you're not into this, Apple did release a number of different colors across their strap.
04:19First up, we have the braided solo loop.
04:22And yes, for the 41mm watch.
04:33That's a nice deep dark red purple.
04:38And yes, it does look teeny.
04:40Because like I said, I am a size 2 in Apple Watch strap sizes.
04:44We have the dark cherry leather link strap up next.
04:58These look really funky.
05:00Back is brown.
05:01And this is natural leather.
05:04And how these work?
05:09They're magnetic.
05:10I love the matching situation we have here.
05:13Okay, let's move on to the watch and try these straps on.
05:18So, initial thoughts on this Apple Watch.
05:20First off, it feels good and looks effortless on my wrists.
05:23It's not too big and it still feels very comfy on my wrist.
05:26Now, the new aluminum color, starlight is included in the lineup.
05:30Does not have a gold.
05:32Though, the starlight still looks good with gold jewelry layered.
05:35Now, if you really wanted a gold watch, you can still get a gold Apple Watch Series 7.
05:41You just have to get it in the stainless steel style.
05:44The new strap colors, I am all for.
05:46Again, I do have the dark cherry leather case and MagSafe wallet.
05:50So, I'm super into it.
05:51And really, one of the beauty of Apple Watches is that you will never run out of options.
05:56If you don't find something you like with Apple Watch straps,
06:00there are so many third-party brands that make great ones too.
06:03And speaking of straps, yes, the Apple Watch Series 7 is compatible with a 40mm watch strap.
06:10For example, this is my old Nomad strap from the Apple SE 40mm watch I have and that fits perfectly.
06:18And so, like I said, I do have the 41mm version.
06:21Like you saw in the unboxing, it's crazy how indistinguishable this size is from the older 40mm watch.
06:29However, even if you have almost the same watch size, you still have a bigger screen.
06:34Less bezels, basically.
06:35And here, with Apple Watch Series 7 side-by-side with Apple Watch SE and using the same watch face,
06:42you can see how the watch faces on the Apple Watch Series 7 are like more towards the edges.
06:49Here's another watch face and those bezels, or lack of, is more noticeable.
06:55Now, for all of you small-wristed people like me, you might be wondering,
06:59compared to the 45mm Apple Watch, which everyone has definitely been raving about in terms of how big the new screen is,
07:06like, you definitely see a size difference.
07:08Although I can feel I can still rock the 45mm version despite it being a big watch,
07:15I'm still more comfortable with this 41mm version.
07:19Now, here's a thing, though, and great news for people like me, again, with tiny wrist.
07:23In spite and despite of the smaller size of this watch, if you check out the specs, all of them seem to even out.
07:30Including, and this is important, battery.
07:33Apple says that you should get around the same battery performance with this tinier watch,
07:38which, again, I like because usually tinier things mean less battery capacity.
07:43And we've definitely seen that in other mini Apple products, but in this case, we're good.
07:48Okay, enough of the comparisons.
07:50New stuff on the Apple Watch Series 7 include, of course, that larger display,
07:54which we just spent a whole bunch of time comparing to the older and bigger watches.
07:58But then Apple has this thing, a new refractive edge on the watch.
08:02Basically, that new glass on the watch is curved, so it sort of reflects what's on the screen,
08:08even towards the side of the watch, so you feel like that screen is wrapped around the edges.
08:14Now, the best thing to showcase this new feature is also quite new,
08:17the new contour watch face, which is pretty cool-looking and is unique to only the Apple Watch Series 7,
08:24allows you to see how that refractive edge works.
08:29So, even on its side, you can see the numbers on the watch.
08:33Pretty mind-blowing, considering that on the older SE, if you tilt it to the side, all you see is bezel.
08:39Now, speaking of these new watch faces, there is another Series 7 exclusive,
08:44the modular duo watch face just allows you to cram in way more info on that screen.
08:51Also new are the world time watch face, which, well, shows you the world time,
08:56and a fun new portrait mode, though these last two are not exclusive to Series 7 watches.
09:01Apple also claims that this watch has a brighter wrist down screen,
09:06so when your wrist is down and you sort of wanna look at your watch without people noticing,
09:11just like that, it looks more visible.
09:14Now, this thing still has dust and water resistance, it's made out of sapphire crystal,
09:18which means that it should be pretty durable and able to withstand your everyday wear and tear.
09:23Apple even says that this is their most durable watch yet, which is a claim that I always welcome,
09:28because if you're like me and you flail around when you're saying stuff,
09:33well, then your watches sometimes end up being in the way.
09:37Aside from that, there is a more optimized UI on this watch,
09:41basically big and better placed buttons to tap with our big ol' fingers on that screen.
09:47There's a new glide text input feature, which, I mean, is nice to have,
09:51except I really don't plan on texting on my watch, especially with longer fingernails.
09:57Battery time on this watch is supposed to be the same as the previous series,
10:00but, and here's the thing I feel would be the biggest selling point,
10:04this new watch has faster charging.
10:0633% more faster charging than the Series 6.
10:10And for context, this means 0-80% charge in 45 minutes,
10:16or 8 hours worth of sleep tracking with only 8 minutes of charging.
10:21Okay, this is not the fastest smartwatch charging I've seen,
10:25but this is significant in that you can top up real quickly anytime.
10:30Let's say you're taking a shower, let's say you're doing a quick skincare routine before going to bed,
10:35you can just top it up and you'll be good.
10:38Like you saw, the watch does come with a new magnetic charger that allows it to charge faster,
10:43except the only downside would be that this fast charging thing,
10:48it only works with that specific charger and not any older chargers or other charging accessories.
10:56At least not yet.
10:57Like the Series 7 watch will charge, but it will charge with normal charging speeds.
11:02Aside from that, this new Apple Watch still has its usual roster of smart and fitness features,
11:07health tracking, ECG, blood oxygen level tracking, fall detection, smart alerts, notifications,
11:14all of these other things I'll be testing out and checking out
11:17and I'll let you guys know how it goes in our full review video.
11:21Right, that was a lot.
