00:06Here's the bigger picture from space on Monday morning.
00:09This big swirl of cloud up to the northeast of the UK is the remnants of Storm Ashley.
00:15That's now pulling away, but we do have a couple of weather fronts,
00:17one trailing to the south and another set coming in from the northwest,
00:22springing, thickening of the cloud and some outbreaks of rain,
00:25particularly across the far southeast of England.
00:27Quite a damp afternoon across Kent and some of that rain at times might get into the London area.
00:32A few showers also trailing behind along the south coast,
00:35a scattering of showers over northern England and quite a few showers coming into western Scotland,
00:40in fact, turning into quite a wet afternoon on the west coast.
00:43Quite breezy here as well, though obviously not as windy as it was with Storm Ashley yesterday.
00:48The odd shower getting into northern Ireland as skies cloud over,
00:51but for much of northern England, Wales and southwest England,
00:53a bright enough afternoon with some decent smiles of sunshine,
00:57lifting the temperatures to 15 or 16, feeling a little cooler where we keep the thicker cloud,
01:02particularly across the southeast of the rain and drizzle on and off across Kent and eastern West Sussex.
01:08That should tend to shimmy away through the evening time.
01:12The cloud further north, though, will continue to dribble southwards,
01:15so turning cloudy over southern Scotland,
01:17then northern England and then across Wales by morning,
01:19with a few sharp showers coming in here through the early hours too.
01:24During the early hours also, we could start to see some mist and fog thickening up across the southeast
01:29and it stays quite breezy across northern Scotland with some showers.
01:32So plenty going on, generally turning quite cool.
01:35Well, we've got the clearest skies. Temperatures will dip down to single figures,
01:39five or six, maybe a touch lower in some rural spots.
01:42And we will potentially have some mist and fog across the southeast first thing on Tuesday.
01:46Could be quite murky in this cloudier zone too,
01:48across Wales and southwest England and northern England,
01:51with a few scattered showers in the morning.
01:53They should tend to fizzle out and clear away to the east,
01:56but it'll cloud over across East Anglia and the southeast.
01:59Brighter skies again for much of Scotland, northern Ireland.
02:02Some showers at times in western Scotland, but even these should tend to fade by the afternoon.
02:07And again, with some sunny spells, the winds are fairly light
02:11and so feeling quite pleasant for the middle part of October, 15, 16 degrees,
02:16perhaps even a degree or so higher, where we see some lengthy spells of sunshine.
02:20The weather remains a bit mixed as we go through the next few days
02:23and fog will continue to be a bit of an issue as we go through the nights and into the early morning.
02:28So that's something to be aware of as we go through this week.
02:31A full week ahead forecast, that'll be available on Monday afternoon on our YouTube channel.
