00:00Hey, what's up guys, MKBHD here, and it is finally here.
00:09So this is something we've teased for a couple days, or maybe a couple weeks, or possibly
00:15a couple months.
00:16So I'm happy to finally announce the official launch of a podcast.
00:21It's called Waveform Podcast, and it's already live.
00:25Everything is down below, you can see all the links and it's named and it has the handles.
00:29Episode 1 is already live.
00:31So a podcast, why a podcast?
00:32There's already the channel with all the videos and there's already a million and one podcasts
00:36out there, so why an MKBHD podcast?
00:39Well, it's in the format of basically a chat show between me and Andrew, fellow producer
00:43here at the MKBHD studio.
00:45What's up?
00:46And we'll probably also have Vin and Brandon in here as well as creators in the area and
00:51nearby.
00:52And we'll talk through all kinds of stuff like the latest tech and rumors and gadgets
00:56and things coming out.
00:57We'll talk through updates on things that have happened since the last podcast episode,
01:01so videos on the channel and things that have happened on YouTube.
01:04We'll have a way to share with each other other things that are happening all over YouTube,
01:08whether it's good or bad.
01:10And then all kinds of things that don't end up in videos, like just talking through the
01:14YouTube landscape or media in general or behind the scenes or rants or all kinds of stuff
01:20like that.
01:21Plus, I'm sure we'll have fellow creators on the show all the time in a sort of a casual
01:24interview style.
01:25I'm sure that sounds like something you'd be into.
01:27All the appropriate links are right below the like button, as they always are.
01:30Just a little something for your morning commute or your flight or wherever you listen to podcasts.
01:36So now for some FAQs.
01:38Is it also a video podcast?
01:40So as we're doing it, it's going to be an audio podcast for now.
01:43What we plan on doing is starting a video version as well for people who have joined
01:48as a member of this YouTube channel.
01:50So it'll just be a pretty casual, not super highly produced version.
01:54But if you guys like the idea of a video podcast enough, there may be reason to maybe
01:59have a podcast room specifically in the new studio in 2020, something to think about.
02:06But for now, we're focused on crisp, clean audio.
02:08Where can I listen to it?
02:09So it's pretty much everywhere.
02:10If you search for Waveform or MKBHD, it should come up.
02:15It's available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Google Play Music, Pocket
02:21Casts, Stitcher, Overcast, Luminary, Breaker, Castbox, Castro, Listen Notes, Player.fm,
02:28Podbean, Podchaser, Podbay FM, Podtail, and RSS Radio.
02:34So yeah, pretty much, like I said, everywhere.
02:36How often will there be new episodes?
02:38So every two weeks at least, but probably more.
02:41It also has its own Twitter.
02:42So if you follow Waveform on Twitter, which I've retweeted the first episode, and you
02:46turn notifications on, you'll get a new ping every time it tweets a new episode.
02:51So you won't miss it.
02:52What is that sweet shirt you're wearing?

02:56So any great new show needs a great new name and a design to all sort of seamlessly tie
03:02together.
03:03This is the Waveform, and you can get now a shirt with the Waveform on it.
03:07So a new merch drop is in the store live right now with this new edition, plus some bonuses,
03:13including these incredibly photogenic and super soft new pillows.
03:19They're actually pretty good at noise cancellation now that I'm hearing my voice next to them.

03:26And of course, alongside the dope tech and matte black and all the stuff that's been
03:29in the store for a little while, it's all there.
03:32So how has it gone so far?
03:34So whenever you launch something like fairly major that's new, you really want everything
03:38to go super smoothly and super well.
03:41And thanks to you guys, it really has.
03:43I just tweeted the show when we first published our first episode.
03:46It's all about smartphone season and the Galaxy Note 10 and the beginning of the avalanche
03:51we're about to see.
03:52With just that one episode, it has been at the top of trending for pocket casts, which
03:57is amazing.
03:58We're also featured by Spotify in their podcast section.
04:01So that's pretty cool.
04:03And it has frequently been bubbling in and out of the top of Apple's new and noteworthy
04:07podcast section, which is also incredible.
04:09But I really want this to be, we want this to get better.
04:11So I want to ask you guys two things.
04:14So I usually don't ask much from you guys, but for these two things, they would be pretty
04:18amazing.
04:19So number one, it would be super awesome if you could go over to Apple podcasts or wherever
04:23you subscribe to download and get podcasts, subscribe and leave a rating and just get
04:29yourself queued up.
04:30And then number two, give us feedback, like real feedback.
04:34So that can be in the comment section down below here, or if you want to drop me a comment
04:37on Twitter or even the thread on the subreddit, we're reading all this stuff.
04:42But I want the podcast to get better in quality and entertainment value and everything
04:47kind of like the videos have.
04:49And that takes time.
04:50That takes a bunch of episodes and that takes feedback from you guys.
04:53So the same way I've built up the quality of the videos on the channel, we hope to build
04:58up the quality and the entertainment value of the podcast.
05:01So yeah, just generally let me know what you guys think.
05:04And if you have any, I know there's audio engineers that watch this.
05:07I know there's people who listen to tons of other podcasts that may now add this to what
05:11they listen to.
05:12We want all that feedback.
