00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recognized Indonesia as a long-standing partner of the Philippines.

00:06The President said this in his inauguration speech with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto

00:21President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. gave a speech

00:25to the new President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto,

00:30after his inauguration, which was personally led by the first couple.

00:42witnessed the inauguration of the President of the largest economy in Southeast Asia.

00:48Prabowo Subianto formally became the 8th President of Indonesia

00:54and the youngest Vice President of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming,

01:00yesterday at the House of Representatives Building in Jakarta.

01:04The first couple was invited by the current and outgoing Indonesian President, Joko Widodo,

01:10who gave an important speech.

01:13In his speech, President R. Marcos said

01:17that he and his first wife will be a part of this occasion,

01:23which is special for the friends who came and the international community.

01:28President R. Marcos recognized Indonesia as a long-standing partner

01:34and a close friend of the Philippines in the region.

01:37He also gave the desire to strengthen the friendship of the two countries

01:43in this historic occasion,

01:46which happened on the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Indonesia in November.

01:56This is not the first time that the two leaders of the country met.

02:01Prabowo made a courtesy call to President R. Marcos in Malacanang

02:06a few months after he won the election.

02:09The two leaders then promised to strengthen the alliance of the two countries.

02:16Therefore, President R. Marcos' visit proved the deep and strong friendship of the Philippines and Indonesia.

02:25It is also a symbol of the commitment of the two countries

02:29to expand and strengthen the bilateral relations.

02:34Meanwhile, President R. Marcos recognized the contribution of the former President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo,

02:42who helped strengthen the cooperation of the two countries.

02:46In 2022, Indonesia was President R. Marcos' first state visit,

02:52where he was warmly welcomed by Widodo, who visited the Philippines in January 2024.
