00:00What's up guys, quick update video for some of my favorite LG devices here.
00:07I get a lot of questions about these phones and I can't make LG videos as much as I used
00:11to because you guys know LG went out of business, but I do try to keep up with these phones
00:16for you guys because I know even in other countries these are excellent deals because
00:21they're just so cheap right now so I get a ton of questions still about them.
00:25I do want to go ahead and give you guys a price update on these phones, a lot of these
00:34phones surprisingly are coming down to $150.
00:37We got the V60, the G8X, the V50, the Velvet, and then the G8 here and you can see G8, $150.
00:47G8X is still hovering around, yeah you can still get a G8X for, because it has a dual
00:54screen case I guess it's like still a little bit more expensive but I think, I believe
00:59these are cheaper on eBay so I would go on eBay for a G8X and then we've got the Velvet
01:05just came down in price, it was ridiculous because I paid like two something for this
01:09phone.
01:10It's $151 now, that's just crazy.
01:13Let's see the V60, it's probably still, I would probably go, yeah I would go, you can
01:20get, oh yeah it will, for the Verizon version it's $241 but I would just go probably if
01:25you don't want the Verizon or you know, let me see here, yeah it seems like the Verizon
01:33one, you can get an unlocked one on eBay with pretty good condition for $250 on eBay as
01:39well so I'll just go ahead and show you guys that.
01:41If you want the dual screen case guys, also go on eBay as well, they sell them for around,
01:48they sell them for around, oh this came down in price a little bit, $240, oh $200 for the
01:56Verizon version.
01:58Yeah so eBay probably has the best deals for the V60 as well, it just depends on who you
02:02trust more, Amazon or eBay.
02:05The V50 is super cheap as well too, it's dirt cheap.
02:08Honestly the V50, $175, $119 for the V50 Verizon version which I wish I would have gotten because
02:17I got stuck with the Sprint version so I didn't get the Android update, Android 12 update
02:21unfortunately.
02:22Alright, but you guys can see the prices are just ridiculous on here.
02:27So even if you want to use these phones for a main phone, a secondary phone, I have, I
02:30believe I have gaming tests on all of these phones actually so if you want to go ahead
02:36and see that you just go to Matthews Tech on YouTube, just type in Matthews Tech and
02:42then type in which phone you want to see.
02:45Alright so if I was you guys, my favorite phones right now just to buy LG phones are
02:51the phones that's getting the Android 13 update which would be the LG Velvet and the LG V60.
02:57The LG V60 actually just got a security patch as well too so now I'm extremely confident
03:03that we are going to get the Android 13 update which is really awesome.
03:08The rest of these phones, they were scheduled to get Android 12 but that was pretty much
03:12it.
03:13They were never promised I believe to get Android 13 or you know they're just not getting
03:17the updates frequently like the V60 and the Velvet.
03:22So definitely if you're planning on using these phones long term, I would go with a
03:26V60 or a Velvet.
03:28You know honestly you could just buy and pick a G8X or V50.
03:33So I just want to go briefly over these phones here and just let you guys know the minor
03:38differences.
03:39First off, if you really just want a phone, the V60 is the best phone to go hands down.
03:44Here it's got the best camera, best specs, it can play games at the highest settings
03:48with the Snapdragon 865.
03:50It's got the headphone jack.
03:51I use this as an audio phone you know mainly now and you can also use it as a power brick
03:59as well too.
04:00It does a really great job depending on what I'm doing for the day.
04:02You can just bring it to charge other phones.
04:04It's great on standby time as well too.
04:07Cameras are awesome on here, performance is awesome, screen is great.
04:11It's got the dual screen case capability as well.
04:13It's definitely a big phone and it's the same thing for the Velvet.
04:19So my only issue with the Velvet is that if you are a gamer, this has the weakest chip
04:25actually here.
04:27But it can play games fine but it definitely does not have the strongest chip.
04:32It's kind of got like an upper mid-range chip.
04:34I really love the design on here.
04:36My mom actually uses this phone.
04:37Let me get it wiped down.
04:39The design on here is just one of my favorite phones.
04:41It's super light and thin.
04:43It's almost the opposite of the V60 and I just really love the design on here.
04:50You guys can see that.
04:51It's just a very pretty design, camera module design.
04:55But all of a sudden this is an excellent, well built phone here.
04:59This has the headphone jack but it doesn't have the quad DAC.
05:02It's got a really beautiful, tall screen on here as well too.
05:07It's just a great phone.
05:08It takes great pictures.
05:09And like I said, I just really like it for the design.
05:12The V50 is also a great catch at $150.
05:16Some of them on Verizon are going for like $120.
05:18V50 1440p display on here.
05:22It's got the quad DAC.
05:23It's got excellent cameras.
05:24It does great with gaming.
05:26Check out the gaming test.
05:27You can play games at high settings.
05:28It's basically the same thing as the G8X.
05:30I wanted to answer a question because I get this a lot.
05:32What is the difference between the G8X and the G8?
05:38And it's very minor differences here.
05:40So you can see they both kind of look the same.
05:42Both dual screen, I mean not dual screen case.
05:45That's one of the differences.
05:47So the G8X is dual screen case and the G8 is not.
05:51The G8 has a 1440p display so it has a higher resolution display and the G8X has a 1080p
05:57panel.
05:58So the resolution looks good but it's not as sharp as the G8 for sure.
06:01I can tell you that right off the bat.
06:04So yeah it really comes down to do you want the high res display or do you want the dual
06:07screen display.
06:09And also you have a, I don't know if you guys can see that, but you have a better or smaller
06:15notch on the G8X as well too which you might really appreciate.
06:21But yeah they both are essentially the same.
06:23They both have the quad DAC.
06:25They both have the Snapdragon 855, SD card support.
06:29You know they basically are the same phone just you know slightly different.
06:34They both take the same pictures essentially.
06:37You have slightly different camera specs but essentially it's the same as far as like taking
06:42photos.
06:43They kind of take the same photos right.
06:45The V50 is a great option as well too.
06:48Very cheap, great display, quad DAC, takes great photos as well.
06:55So I don't have any issues with these phones guys.
07:00They do such a great job but like I said me personally if you really want an LG phone
07:05go with the V60.
07:07You can use this phone for you know after the Android 13 update maybe you know LG will
07:13give it security patches still.
07:15We don't know yet but yeah that's what I would do.
07:19I would go with the V60.
07:21I would go with a Velvet just for that you know OS upgrade.
07:25Make sure if you can make sure they're unlocked right just so you don't have any issues because
07:30you guys remember when updates are pushed they get pushed to the carrier first and if
07:34it's a locked phone you get pushed to the carrier and then the carrier pushes it to
07:38the phone.
07:39But if you get it unlocked it gets pushed straight to the phone.
07:43But let me know what do you guys think?
07:46Are you guys planning on getting rid of your LG phones?
07:48Are you moving on Samsung, OnePlus, Apple?
07:52What are you guys thinking about?
07:53Be sure to let me know and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
