00:00Good news for the people of Batangas, the newly built Kadiwa Store in the province.

00:05Aside from being able to buy as much as they can buy,

00:09it will also help our farmers a lot.

00:12Benji Durango with the latest news live.

00:18Now, I'm here in the city of Santo Tomas, Batangas.

00:22And what you see behind me is the first Kadiwa store

00:26that the President built and opened here in the province of Batangas.

00:31In our conversation with Santo Tomas City Mayor Arjun Maracigan,

00:36they were the ones who requested this to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

00:40back in 2023.

00:42And they were given.

00:43A round of applause to those who will buy the fresh vegetables

00:46that are locally produced by Santo Tomas.

00:48What's special about the President's Kadiwa here is that

00:51the grains are fresh from the farm,

00:52the vegetables are organic,

00:54and there are no chemical additives.

00:56Eggs, fruits, and even vinegar are made from grains

00:59so it's possible that there are no chemical additives.

01:01The Paksiw will be cooked,

01:03made in Tilapia,

01:04and there are a lot of it here in Santo Tomas.

01:06For now, the President's Kadiwa here in Santo Tomas

01:09only opens once a month.

01:11But the local government of Santo Tomas

01:14is planning to make it open more often

01:17so that it can reach more people.

01:20This is also a big help to the farmers

01:22because they don't have to sell their grains

01:25so they can earn more.

01:27The City of Santo Tomas was named

01:29by the Department of Finance

01:31as the top two performing LGUs

01:33because of the locally sourced revenues.

01:39The vegetables that are sold here

01:42are mostly grains from Santo Tomas

01:44and most of them are organic vegetables.

01:46And this is our support to our farmers

01:49so that they don't have to go far.

01:53Nayomi, the President's Kadiwa only opened

01:55for half a day

01:57because earlier this morning,

01:59the grains were almost sold out.

02:01The President's Kadiwa is a government program

02:04that the Filipinos enjoy

02:06as the City of Santo Tomas

02:08here in the province of Batangas.
