00:24I'm Evan Marinovsky. That's Connor Ryan.
00:26Connor, what is up?
00:28Evan, I'm doing well. How you doing?
00:31Doing great. Doing great.
00:33Late night last night.
00:35We're recording this Thursday, so Wednesday.
00:37Late game. Late game.
00:39And I gotta say, I had to be up.
00:41I had my own hockey game at 7 in the morning.
00:44So I was like, oh boy, that's gonna be quite the turnaround.
00:47But I think most folks have to get up at that time of day anyway.
00:52So my plights are no different than most people's.
00:56Today, I was just like you, everybody.
00:58I was just like you.
01:00Yes, exactly. Getting ready for a hockey game.
01:02Yeah, I think everybody was.
01:05It's funny. The late starts, I don't love.
01:09We were saying this on Monday.
01:11I don't hate the 1 p.m. starts.
01:13Late starts, though, I could probably do without.
01:15Late starts, I'm like, eh.
01:177 p.m., 8 is the latest.
01:19You start to get to 9, 10 p.m., it's like, oh man.
01:22It doesn't help that it was supposed to be a 9.30 game.
01:25And then it ends up being like 9.58.
01:28As soon as that also the Penguin Sabres game went into overtime,
01:32I'm like, please have this end early.
01:34Which thankfully it did.
01:35The Sabres, I fear, suck once again.
01:37Yeah.
01:38That's surprising.
01:40But yeah, those national, like the national broadcasts
01:43already end up being much longer anyway.
01:46Bad broadcast, too.
01:48Whether it's like Albert being like way behind on plays.
01:51You had Eddie Olczyk losing his mind.
01:54It was not a fun.
01:56It was not an enjoyable late night.
01:59Usually it's like, you know, I used to like 10 o'clock Red Sox games
02:03like in the summertime where you're just chilling anyway.
02:06You have them playing like beating the shit out of the A's
02:08or something like that.
02:10It's nice and relaxing at the end of the day.
02:12And it's a chill broadcast.
02:14They know that not a lot of people are up,
02:16so they're going to let it fly a little more.
02:18It's like Don and Jerry talking about like the shoelaces or something.
02:23It has nothing to do with the actual game.
02:25It's nice.
02:26It was ASMR before it actually was a thing, right?
02:28It was them just beating the crap out of the Oakland A's.
02:31But the broadcast was not remotely as enjoyable as today.
02:36Tough watch, even though the Bruins thankfully
02:39stepped up with a nice bounce back win.
02:41Yeah.
02:42Eddie Olczyk, you know, I grew up having him with Doc.
02:46So like Doc's iconic.
02:48So you kind of always have that.
02:50Yeah, I don't know.
02:51I mean, I don't have like a feeling one way or the other.
02:54I'm with you.
02:55I thought they were bad last night.
02:56I mean, again, like Marcian gets blindsided or hit to the head.
03:00And they're like, oh, he flopped.
03:02And it's like, well, he was removed from the game after.
03:04Yeah.
03:05How much flopping did he do?
03:08So that was my other thing.
03:09And then, you know, like I almost tweeted at one point.
03:13I think there was a play in front of the Bruins net.
03:15He was ranting and choked up on his stick.
03:18And Eddie's like, stop.
03:19Stop it right there.
03:20Choking up on his stick.
03:21It's like, oh, cool.
03:22Like, everybody's been doing that for a long time.
03:24Like, Jake, your brother was doing that shit.
03:26Have you seen Jake to Bryce?
03:28He doesn't.
03:29That's like just a breakout pass.
03:31Yes, exactly.
03:32Catching any pass.
03:34So I just.
03:35Yeah, I'm with you.
03:36And yeah, I like the TNT crew.
03:38Like, I like the TNT, like, you know, intermission and pre
03:41and post game and all that.
03:42But yeah, those go along Bruins, though.
03:45Nice win.
03:46I know Colorado kind of looked crappy.
03:49They have not won a game yet this year.
03:51Can you imagine if the Bruins hadn't won a game yet this year
03:54that we would be like, you know, just going insane over here.
03:57But yeah, I mean, I thought, you know, five, three win.
04:00You take it.
04:01Yeah, exactly.
04:02When you look at just the disappointment of that Monday game
04:05against Florida, a lot of guys just, I think, stepped up
04:08and it was encouraging to see them, I think, build kind of,
04:11again, how they want to play, especially in that, you know,
04:14the first period and most of the second.
04:16The Bruins really were controlling play.
04:18They're really suppressing a lot of shots from a very dangerous
04:22Colorado team.
04:23Cobrasolo is pretty steady early on.
04:26And then you just look at guys across the board who are stepping up.
04:30Like, we're going to talk, obviously, about the fourth line who,
04:33you know, that group is second.
04:35Yeah.
04:36Arguably the best line in hockey, not just like the Bruins best line,
04:39but they have been monsters so far to start this year.
04:43But you have, you know, the power play breaks through.
04:46You have Charlie Coyle get on the board, which is really encouraging.
04:49Mason Laurie, I think, has responded really,
04:51really well since getting a scratch in the home opener.
04:54And he's got, what, four points in his last four games.
04:58Right.
04:59So he's been.
05:00But for.
05:01Yeah.
05:02Yeah.
05:03So he's been really promising and I think he's kind of stepped up.
05:05And then even like you're seeing guys like campus Lindholm as a,
05:09I think for as much as you look at the overall defense,
05:12especially early on,
05:13it hasn't been where it needs to be in its own zone,
05:16protecting the net front and stuff like that.
05:18I think it's encouraging to see guy like campus Lindholm be pretty assertive
05:21with getting pucks on net, bringing the puck down the ice.
05:25And just being more assertive, you know,
05:27is he going to be the 50 point guy he was two years ago?
05:30Probably not.
05:31But I think he's better than what he showed last year.
05:34And I think so far,
05:35whether it's just the fact that he's near the top of the team in terms of
05:38shot attempts.
05:39He gets,
05:40he's rewarded with a goal for putting a puck on net yesterday.
05:44I think having guy like Lindholm be more assertive and buy in already to
05:48kind of,
05:49I think what the Bruins are trying to preach,
05:50which is more offense from the blue line.
05:52I think that's also really encouraging to see so far.
05:54It's the more offense from the blue line is not just eye test stuff like
05:58this.
05:59It's statistics.
06:00I mean,
06:01I mentioned this on Bruins beat Lowry one goal,
06:04four points,
06:05four games,
06:06Lindholm one goal,
06:07three points.
06:08It's a door off three assists.
06:09Carlo,
06:10one goal,
06:11three points,
06:12McAvoy,
06:13two goals,
06:14three points peak to assist.
06:15Like they're all contributing back there.
06:17And the other thing,
06:19it was a great way to start the road trip off.
06:21And cause I texted you this on,
06:24on Wednesday.
06:25So they had Colorado Wednesday,
06:27Utah,
06:28Saturday,
06:29Nashville on next Tuesday,
06:31Dallas at home,
06:33Toronto at home.
06:34That's a tough stretch.
06:35Yeah.
06:36And you and I have talked a lot about the future of Jim Montgomery.
06:39What happens with him?
06:40Do they extend him?
06:41What do they end up doing?
06:42That's a tough stretch where like,
06:44if they end up,
06:45you know,
06:46if they come out of it one in four or Owen five,
06:48what is his status looking like at the end of that trip?
06:52We're heading into November.
06:53Now again,
06:54they could lose the next four who knows,
06:56but I think it's really encouraging to start the trip off to start
06:59really a hard stretch with that five,
07:01three win.
07:02And that starts with this fourth line.
07:05Holy crap.
07:06So I know you wrote about this on Thursday morning.
07:09So dive into some of the stats of,
07:12of not just them being the best line on this team,
07:15but like an all time great fourth line.
07:19Yeah.
07:20I mean,
07:21I mean,
07:22it's absurd when you look at just the,
07:23you know,
07:24you go underneath the hood and look at the underlying numbers.
07:26I mean,
07:27the fact that,
07:28that,
07:29that trio,
07:30a guy in Catholic,
07:31who's what career high in scoring is 11 points.
07:34In a single season,
07:35you've got Johnny Beecher who had 10 points in 52 games as a rookie.
07:40And Cole Koepke,
07:42who's played a whopping 26 total games in the NHL before getting here
07:47with Boston.
07:48The fact that they've played together for just 40 minutes in total,
07:51that's all,
07:52all strains when you factor in Beecher,
07:54obviously gets that empty netter.
07:55So that factors in,
07:56but 40 minutes and it outscored opponents nine,
08:00nothing.
08:01That is incredible.
08:02That is,
08:03it's an absurd number in terms of,
08:05and also I think when you factor in is that like most fourth lines,
08:09they're getting a lot of time spent in their own zone.
08:13They're not getting favorable.
08:14You know,
08:15the posture knock Zaka Elias Lindholm line,
08:18they've outscored teams two Oh at five and five play.
08:21But also I think they've had like 65% of their face-off start in the
08:25offensive zone as expected,
08:27Jim Montgomery and the Bruins want to get them rolling.
08:29You give them a little bit of an easier start.
08:31That hasn't been the case with the castle decline.
08:33I think it's 34% ozone start.
08:36So they're already not getting a lot of,
08:38you know,
08:39easy minutes to start.
08:40They're usually mashed up against top six opponents as usually the case.
08:44So even you look at really,
08:46really strong fourth lines Bruins have had in the past,
08:48you don't really gauge their effectiveness right off of like scoring
08:52totals or if they break even,
08:54like I looked at then the Bruins went to the cup in 18,
08:5919,
09:00you know,
09:01common fourth line grouping.
09:02There was a Chari Wagner Corrali really good fourth line.
09:05I think a lot of,
09:06you know,
09:07maybe they're not the Merlot line,
09:08but a really,
09:09really effective line for what they provided.
09:11And they were outscored that,
09:13that trio 14 to eight,
09:15they were on the ice together.
09:17The Bruins scored eight five on five goals.
09:19So again,
09:21you,
09:22when you have those tough matchups and those tough ice,
09:25that tough ice,
09:26it's not going to reflect necessarily all that great in terms of,
09:29you know,
09:30you're going to be outscoring teams,
09:31which means like what you're seeing from Beecher Castle,
09:34like in Kentucky right now,
09:35where they already have eight,
09:37five on five goals,
09:38they've already matched what the Corrali line did in five games.
09:43It's absurd.
09:44And again,
09:45is it sustainable?
09:46Of course not.
09:47That like,
09:48it is crazy what they're doing.
09:49I mean,
09:50again,
09:51to go back to what we always say about these fourth line guys,
09:53like they're not going to all get 20 goals,
09:55but the way they've tilted the ice so far,
09:58and the way they've been rewarded,
10:00it's,
10:01I don't think anyone saw this coming because even if they,
10:04even if they regress,
10:06which is to be,
10:07I don't think they're going to be,
10:08we'll all laugh when all of a sudden they're outscoring teams.
10:11Like it's 21 to two or something when they're on the ice and we're in the
10:14middle of November or something like that,
10:16which I will be,
10:17I will accept it if I'm wrong and they don't regress,
10:20should be good news for the Bruins.
10:22But they,
10:24they've just been unbelievable in terms of what they provide.
10:27And maybe they're not the best line of hockey,
10:29but the way they're playing right now,
10:30they keep it up.
10:31They're going to be the best fourth line by a wide margin based on the way
10:34they're playing right now.
10:35They have their own line at the all-star game at this rate.
10:38They might,
10:39if John Scott can get in the all-star game,
10:41but these guys,
10:42yeah,
10:43I put,
10:44please put them out there.
10:45I've watched this over,
10:46you know,
10:47just,
10:48you know,
10:49your top guys.
10:50I also,
10:51I think it's interesting.
10:52Like you mentioned a Chari Wagner and Corrali,
10:54and they were always kind of in their zone at times defending and having
10:56those tough matchups.
10:57I think part of what's made this fourth line so good is they are spending
11:01a ton of time in the ozone when it comes from chipping it in and for
11:06checking the hell out of the defenders.
11:08And like I said this to you on Monday,
11:10they're sort of,
11:11they're sort of the counter to the Panthers.
11:14Like they play sort of Panthers hockey in that they all bring something
11:19a little different.
11:20They all can be physical.
11:21They get on pucks quick.
11:23They do have speed.
11:24I mean,
11:25Beecher's fast and Beecher's straight up just fast.
11:28And then Kepke and Castellic just kind of have that physical speed that you
11:32want out of,
11:33out of guys,
11:34those sizes.
11:35And I just,
11:36they're throwing pucks at the net.
11:39That's the other thing.
11:40Like they're not getting cute.
11:42They're not trying to dangle.
11:43I will say if,
11:44if Castellic scored that goal on his stomach last night,
11:47when he was like alone in front of the net,
11:49holy crap.
11:50But they're just getting pucks to the net.
11:52They're chipping it into corners.
11:54Like they're cycling.
11:55Well, as you said,
11:57is this sustainable?
11:58Is this going to happen for the whole season?
11:59Probably not.
12:00But even at the bare minimum,
12:02if they're just a good,
12:03solid fourth line that can wear teams down and you can put them out
12:07against other teams,
12:08top defensive units,
12:09and just have them beat the hell out of them.
12:11Like that is what the,
12:12they want this team to play like that.
12:14That's why they got one out and got guys like Max Jones and Riley
12:18Tufte and guys like that to wear other teams down.
12:22I also think sort of a by-product of the fourth line being so good
12:26is it's,
12:27and we'll get into lineup changes here in a bit,
12:30but it's hard.
12:31You typically at this point in the season,
12:33you would rotate guys through the third and fourth lines.
12:36Yeah.
12:37You don't have that luxury with the fourth line.
12:38They're too good.
12:39You can't break them up.
12:40You can't put Riley Tufte in for Cole Kapke or Max Jones and for
12:44Johnny Beecher.
12:45Like that fourth line is perfect.
12:46So you're really rotating your middle six,
12:49which is kind of crazy rotating,
12:52you know,
12:53your second line and they need it for sure.
12:55But I think it just speaks to how good this fourth line is.
12:58Obviously the middle six up until last night had its issues.
13:01And,
13:02you know,
13:03we've talked about that quite a bit,
13:04but I can't get over the fourth line.
13:05I can't.
13:06I do.
13:07They,
13:08the way they all compliment each other,
13:10though,
13:11I do think them staying together for most of the season at the very
13:14least is sustainable.
13:15Right.
13:16Yeah.
13:17And I mean,
13:18I think it's not like these guys are,
13:19and all of them,
13:20I think have taken steps forward.
13:21Like Johnny Beecher is a guy that Jim Montgomery has praised,
13:25I think,
13:26since the start of training camp in terms of they've really been
13:27impressed with the work he's put in and the strides he's made since
13:30his rookie year.
13:31And I think you're seeing that.
13:32So it makes,
13:33it makes sense that he takes a step forward.
13:35That fourth line takes a step forward,
13:37but you also look at like Cole Kapke and what he's provided.
13:41I texted you and Ty in the group.
13:43I'm like,
13:44is this dude going to be like the next,
13:46right.
13:47Of like Syracuse crunch,
13:48like really solid age L player lands in a new spot.
13:52And again,
13:53I'm not saying that what,
13:54what does he have?
13:55Like,
13:56do you have like,
13:57he's had a couple of 30 goals either.
13:58I don't think you're getting that,
13:59but can Cole kept be a,
14:00like a third line,
14:01solid guy for what he provides.
14:03And even if he's not,
14:04and he's still on the fourth line,
14:06then you've got a pretty damn good player.
14:08If he compliments this group as he's doing right now.
14:10So again,
14:11I'm not saying Evan,
14:13that they're all going to have 20 goals,
14:15but I'm waiting for kind of the momentum to kind of stall with these
14:18guys.
14:19But if they play the way they they're playing right now.
14:21And again,
14:22they're not reinventing the wheel.
14:23They're not,
14:24you know,
14:25as much as the production,
14:26I think succeed expectations.
14:27They're not,
14:28what we've seen from is not something we just haven't seen.
14:30Like we,
14:31we know what Johnny Beecher is good at.
14:32We know like what cast like and kept,
14:34you have to do to generate quality chances,
14:36those kinds of things.
14:37It's just,
14:38they're getting rewarded.
14:39And maybe that's unsustainable in terms of how many of those,
14:42you know,
14:43tumbling pucks,
14:44second chance opportunities are getting cashed in right now.
14:46That won't probably carry on throughout the year.
14:48But if you just keep up that mindset,
14:50at the very least,
14:51you're going to tilt the ice in your team's favor.
14:53And it's going to lead to a lot of quality chances,
14:55a lot of time spent in the ozone.
14:57And that can only be positive for a group that again,
15:00is going to mostly have pretty tough matchups based on how Jim
15:03Montgomery rolls out that fourth line.
15:05I agree.
15:06I agree.
15:07I want to get into a lineup changes.
15:09Also want to get into Jonas corpus,

16:50Now let's get back to the show.
16:52So we talked lineup changes and I found the,
16:56I think everybody was found this interesting going into Wednesday's game
16:59when they put Tufti and Jones with Patra took geeky and Brazil out.
17:04Didn't really work.
17:06I didn't find that line to be terrific.
17:09Tufti took two offensive zone penalties and of course the abs scored
17:12immediately after both.
17:14So I would assume he will be watching some games from the ninth floor
17:17coming up.
17:18What lineup changes are you looking to in the coming games?
17:23Yeah.
17:24I mean,
17:25I definitely think you need to put geeky and Brazil back in there.
17:27The one thing that I am curious to see,
17:29and I don't know if it's going to be immediate switch is whether or not you
17:32eventually get to a point where, again,
17:34I think Patra had another okay ish game.
17:39But again,
17:40when you look at kind of who is with the,
17:41who are really able to get a lot of momentum,
17:43they only played,
17:44they play the kind of fourth line minutes.
17:45And I think maybe that's also a by-product of,
17:48I think Mark Cassidy played 16,
17:4914.
17:51Like,
17:52they're not the fourth line.
17:53Like we call them the fourth line.
17:54They're not really.
17:55Yeah.
17:56So the ice time is kind of a little bit out of whack right now,
17:58but I think Patra is the guy that if he continues to show more of what he
18:03provided in that game against the Kings last weekend,
18:06I think he's a guy that if you want to put him in a top six role down the
18:10road,
18:11he's someone that's worth taking a look at,
18:13whether it's him,
18:14Marchand and like a guy like Brazzo or guy like Frederick,
18:17maybe just because I do think that if your third line is a group of like
18:22coil geeky Frederick,
18:24something along that line,
18:25I think that's a really,
18:26really good third line.
18:27Just you're going to need to bring me,
18:29take a little bit of a leap of faith as to what a guy like Patrick can
18:32provide.
18:33And again,
18:34I think for him,
18:35it's one finding,
18:36you know,
18:37the right kind of group to play off Patra strength as a playmaker.
18:40And I,
18:41I don't know how much you were going to get out of that with Max Jones and
18:44Riley Tufte in that game on Wednesday.
18:46Also again,
18:48Patra needs to keep his head up because he keeps on getting rocked with
18:51some of these hits.
18:52That is pretty concerning.
18:54You know,
18:55he got smoked,
18:56he got smoked in that game on Wednesday,
18:58but I do think at the bare minimum,
19:00you have to get geeky and Brazzo going geeky.
19:03Obviously has been kind of slow to start the year.
19:06I think you gotta kind of put him in the right spot to succeed.
19:08But also I think Brazzo hasn't really been a net negative.
19:11He hasn't scored,
19:12but he's generating chances.
19:13Like he's a guy that I think you,
19:15again,
19:16the same thing as what you're seeing from the fourth line right now,
19:19where you look at what Brazzo is good at.
19:21If he keeps up what he's doing with these passes around the net and how
19:24good he is at retrieving pucks,
19:26sooner or later,
19:27he's going to cash in.
19:28Maybe that just means a secondary assist here and there,
19:30but I didn't,
19:31that's a guy that so far hasn't really shown anything that makes him,
19:34you know,
19:35that warranted him being out of the lineup,
19:37I think.
19:38And I think when you look at just how that Patra line wasn't able to get
19:41a lot of traction against Colorado,
19:44I think the first step has to be putting Geeky and Brazzo back in the
19:47lineup.
19:48Yeah.
19:49I was surprised at Brazzo.
19:50I think,
19:51you know,
19:52I thought maybe the results weren't there,
19:53but there were chances for him in the first four games.
19:55I understood Geeky.
19:56You need a day.
19:57You need a game to watch,
19:58like go reset.
19:59In terms of lineup changes.
20:01I mean,
20:02obviously I think Tufte comes out.
20:03I do think they want to see more of Max Jones.
20:05You didn't see a lot of him in the preseason because of injury,
20:07but I do think they have legitimate expectations for him again in a,
20:11in a regular season or regular year.
20:13He would rotate it on the fourth line,
20:15but that's not happening because that fourth line is so damn good.
20:18You mentioned Patra and I think Patra is interesting because he's 20.
20:23So,
20:24you know,
20:25and he's not a big guy,
20:26so he is going to get rocked from time to time.
20:29And that is scary because I think every game you're going to see him,
20:32you know,
20:33whether it's a huge hit or just constant,
20:35you know,
20:36just getting nailed against the glass it's unfortunate.
20:39But I also think people have to kind of be okay with him being a little
20:42inconsistent.
20:43Cause he's,
20:44you know,
20:45this is,
20:46this should be his first full NHL season.
20:48Like you're going to have some nights where you don't notice them.
20:50We said this last year when he was in,
20:52like he put the world on fire at the start and then cooled off a little.
20:55And it's like,
20:56well,
20:57that's what you expect out of a 20 year old.
20:58They started him in camp at right wing.
21:01And I would be curious cause I,
21:03I would rather him down the middle.
21:04I,
21:05I,
21:06you know,
21:07if you develop Patra as a center,
21:08I completely agree.
21:09But to kind of jumpstart coil and Marchand on that right side,
21:12I wonder if that's something they go to.
21:13And then your third line is Frederick geeky and Brazil.
21:16I like the idea of Brazil,
21:19you know,
21:20again,
21:21like maybe Patra Brazil and Marchand,
21:22but oil showed you too much last year to move them back to the third line.
21:28I think I agree with you.
21:30Obviously the team's better with him as a third liner,
21:31but I don't know if,
21:33I don't know if you can sacrifice that on the second line.
21:36So to me,
21:37I would probably,
21:38I would,
21:39I want them to try Marchand coil Patra and see if that works.
21:42And then to go with the third line I just mentioned.
21:45So I think Patra is kind of the X factor moving up.
21:48I know a lot of people want Lysel to come back up,
21:50to come up and to get a shot up there.
21:52I have not watched the Providence Bruins yet,
21:54but from everything that I've read or seen from down there,
21:57it doesn't sound like he's lighting the world on fire either.
22:00So I don't know how close they would be to doing that.
22:04I think Patra is probably your best bet.
22:06I don't think rolling geeky coil and Marchand back out there is
22:10what is going to generate the most offense.
22:12Cause again,
22:13that second line needs to generate five on five offense.
22:15They can shut down lines for sure,
22:17but that is still part of your top six.
22:19They do need to score on defense.
22:22I think things are fine.
22:23They kind of keep shuffling the deep pairs.
22:25We expected that first line's the first line.
22:28I really think it's just the middle six that is going to just
22:31keep getting shuffled around and that's okay.
22:34That's okay.
22:35I want to get into Corpus Solo.
22:37We'll talk a little goal tending.
22:39But first quick words from our friends over at game time.

24:23What time is it?
24:24Game time.
24:25Now let's get back to the show.
24:27So Jonas Corposalo got the start, uh, uh,
24:30on Wednesday night first start since opening night against Florida,
24:33just swam and gets the night off.
24:35Uh, no, it was fine.
24:37I thought he was fine.
24:38I thought he did the job.
24:40Uh, you needed him to get a win.
24:42He got a win.
24:43Wasn't pretty.
24:44Didn't see a ton of rubber until the end.
24:47Um, I still think he's a little shaky, you know, from my eye,
24:52I'm not a goalie guy.
24:53I'm not one of those, you know,
24:54I'm not a goalie expert.
24:55I wasn't a goalie.
24:56So I can't be like, Oh, you know,
24:58his angles and everything like that.
25:00Um, I don't know.
25:02There's times that he does look a little shaky though.
25:04Yeah.
25:05No, I mean, I think you look at the matchup, right?
25:08Going into that one where he hasn't played and, you know,
25:10over a week you look at just high,
25:12how high powered Colorado's offenses and, you know,
25:15what Corporasol is looking to build in his game.
25:17That's a matchup going into it.
25:19You're like, let's see what happens.
25:21Like that kind of, it's kind of a tough spot.
25:23Smashing me over.
25:24Yes.
25:25Corporasol's first two games with the Bruins.
25:27Again, I've been both on the road against Florida and Colorado.
25:30Like not necessarily a Stanley cup matchup.
25:32Yeah.
25:33Not really a good, uh, easy way to ease him into these reps.
25:36But yeah, as you said, I think he was solid.
25:39Um, didn't face a lot of shots, made some quality saves early on.
25:43I mean, that could have been very much a, here we go again,
25:46kind of sequence where if the Bruins who are already kind of reeling
25:49off of that loss on Monday,
25:50give up that kind of mini breakaway chance to Miles Wood early in that
25:53game.
25:54I literally thought that was like McKinnon.
25:55Cause I just saw like 20 and I was like, who the shit is this guy?
25:58I was shocked.
26:00Um,
26:01What?
26:02And he burned.
26:03I was at Lindholm and McAvoy.
26:04Yeah.
26:05Yeah.
26:06It was like literally went right by him.
26:07So, uh, but that is, uh, you know, again,
26:10you look at timely saves and that was when right there you desperately
26:13need it in that moment.
26:14So again, like wasn't perfect.
26:16I think that last goal, I believe from Renton was one where you're like,
26:20Not, not great there.
26:21But I think when you look at just what you're one,
26:24what you're expecting out of corporate solo.
26:25And two,
26:26I think the natural expectation when it comes to a guy that the Bruins are
26:30trying to build his game back up,
26:32I think you're expecting some of these growing pains now to say,
26:35like,
26:36you have to expect this guy's going to be letting up three or four goals a
26:39game.
26:40But as he tries to find his footing, um,
26:42and you factor in the opponent,
26:44the quality competition he's been up against,
26:46I think you'll take it right now, right now.
26:48You're relying on your fourth line and these guys keep you afloat and
26:52you're allowing corporate solid to settle in and kind of build some
26:55momentum.
26:56So I think as the year goes on,
26:58hopefully you carve out maybe matchups against teams that maybe aren't as
27:02imposing offensively.
27:04But I think for what it was, um,
27:07and for what you're trying to build and what you're trying to draw out of
27:10corporate solids game, you'll take it.
27:12It wasn't a disaster.
27:13It wasn't like,
27:14I think what people were worried it was going to be when you look at what
27:17he did last year in Ottawa, it's not perfect.
27:19He has plenty of stuff to keep on working on,
27:21but that's why they Bob descends in these guys, uh, working on,
27:25you know, trying to get his game back in order.
27:27So all in considered, I think a step in the right direction,
27:30which if you're the Bruins, you'll definitely take right now.
27:33Yeah.
27:34You need him to do basically what he just did come in after three starts for
27:40Swayman, come in, do, you know, do an admirable job.
27:44And that's that.
27:45Like you don't need him to be the starter.
27:47You don't need him to like, I mean,
27:48it'd be nice if he kind of let the world on fire as the backup,
27:51but that is what, you know, you're just,
27:53I think baby steps at the start of just come in every three,
27:57four games and perform well, like give us a chance to win.
28:01I think that's, you know, give the Bruins chance.
28:03But I think that's the biggest thing that he can provide.
28:06Um, and again,
28:07I assume they'll go back to Swayman for Utah on a,
28:10on Saturday night, which should be interesting.
28:12Utah doing well.
28:14Interesting.
28:15A little team that got out there.
28:18Yeah.
28:19Dylan Gunther is barely on pace for like 90 goals.
28:22So yeah, he still,
28:23he still wouldn't be an upgrade on the Bruins fourth line though.
28:26People forget.
28:27True.
28:28Exactly.
28:29Not quite.
28:30Not quite.
28:31Uh, speaking of upgrades,
28:32little news dropped on Thursday morning.
28:34Celtics had kind of tweeted it out already,
28:37but we won't talk about that.
28:38Uh, New Jersey's alternate centennial.
28:42Uh, it has the,
28:43the first game I think they ever played stitched on the,
28:47uh, on the inside.
28:48Uh, I love him.
28:50I love him.
28:51What do you think?
28:53Yeah.
28:54Nice, clean design.
28:55I like the kind of centennial,
28:56uh, crest.
28:58I like the,
28:59I like the B it's kind of very similar or has kind of,
29:02uh,
29:03elements from the,
29:04the centennial,
29:05uh, season sweaters from last year.
29:07And,
29:08you know,
29:09I,
29:10I do like kind of the late seventies,
29:11eighties kind of design hearkening back to that.
29:14It's simple,
29:15but the colors are slightly different.
29:16It's a kind of a fresh look.
29:18And,
29:19uh,
29:20I know it's just for the centennial game,
29:21but you hope that they incorporate that more heavily moving forward,
29:24because this team needs a little,
29:25not a rebrand,
29:26but a little bit of a,
29:27uh,
29:28a new look as they kind of usher in the,
29:30the post Chara Bergeron kind of era,
29:33I'd be all in favor of,
29:35of bringing in that design with kind of the reworked spoke to be in,
29:38and kind of bringing those colors back.
29:40Cause I do think it's a nice change of pace.
29:42And I will say,
29:43like people were saying,
29:45it looks like how the penguins rebranded their things.
29:47Bruins have those sweaters before,
29:49like the Bruins are the ones who've done it.
29:51And I,
29:52again,
29:53I liked how the penguins made that switch,
29:54uh,
29:55to those kind of more black and gold ones they've had the last,
29:58what is it?
29:59Almost a decade now,
30:00maybe,
30:01but,
30:02uh,
30:03I am,
30:04I am a fan of what the Bruins have with those ones and you hope they
30:05kind of build it moving forward.
30:07It does seem like they've,
30:08they've heard from fan input,
30:10whether it's like the designs from the centennial season,
30:13you look at the last couple of alternates they've had,
30:15some of the reverse retros,
30:17um,
30:18doesn't have to be super flashy.
30:19You had the poo beer that one year,
30:21which you had to bring back.
30:22Right.
30:23That was cool.
30:24I was,
30:25yeah,
30:26I liked it.
30:27Yeah.
30:28Those were great for like a nice nineties,
30:29like nostalgia,
30:30but in terms of,
30:31you know,
30:32bold colors,
30:33but also a pretty simplified,
30:34clean design.
30:35I'm in favor of it.
30:36Moving forward.
30:37Yeah.
30:38Remember the yellow reverse retros they sported during the Tahoe
30:40when he,
30:41yeah,
30:42like the 2021 season.
30:43I thought those were a awesome,
30:45but the same design,
30:47like for a home Jersey,
30:48like just make it black,
30:50uh,
30:51in the back and whatever,
30:52you know,
30:53different things,
30:54but like that same kind of design.
30:55Yeah.
30:56I know what they have here.
30:57Um,
30:58which I like,
30:59uh,
31:00I want,
31:01and I also think like kind of what you said in sort of a re,
31:02a little retool rebrand,
31:04like they've basically had the same home in a ways and they're
31:05really nice.
31:06Like,
31:07there's nothing wrong with them.
31:08This is like us being kind of nitpicky.
31:09They've had them since oh seven,
31:10which is,
31:11you know,
31:12what?
31:1316,
31:1417 years ago now.
31:15Like,
31:16again,
31:17nothing wrong with it.
31:18Patriots had their jerseys forever.
31:19Then they've have new Jersey.
31:20They look like crap.
31:21So like,
31:22you don't want to exactly,
31:23you don't want to shift.
31:24They broke.
31:25Don't fix it.
31:26Right.
31:27Yes.
31:28Yeah.
31:29And,
31:30but these are cool.
31:31And so my thing is like,
31:32you know,
31:33if they make this an alternate and wear it every now and again,
31:34and as the season gets going,
31:35they wear it a little more and more.
31:36I wonder if next season,
31:37the season after,
31:38if they stick with this and then maybe say,
31:39Hey,
31:40you know what?
31:41We're going to make it,
31:42uh,
31:43the permanent homes.
31:44I also wonder,
31:45cause this is for the centennial game.
31:46If they do it like a,
31:47a variation of this for future seasons,
31:48um,
31:49as either alternate or as the permanent home Jersey.
31:50Cause like,
31:51again,
31:52and I said this to Joe,
31:53but horrific.
31:54I said,
31:55I said,
31:56I said,
31:57I said,
31:58I said,
31:59I said,
32:00I said,
32:01I said,
32:02I said,
32:03I said,
32:04I said to Joe,
32:05but her real life on Bruins beat,
32:06like in 2050,
32:07we'll be saying to our kids when the Bruins have an alternate that looks like
32:08their current homes,
32:09like man,
32:10I remember I was,
32:11I was watching them when they used to wear those.
32:12Speaking.
32:16There were all the rage,
32:17everybody loved them.
32:18I remember when they came out in 2007 with the Reebok edge,
32:19Jersey remember,
32:20Reebok.
32:21All right.
32:22Grandpa,
32:23let's get you to bed.
32:24Yeah.
32:25I remember when Joe,
32:26All right, grandpa, let's get you to bed.
32:28Yeah, I remember when Joe Rogan was the host of Fear Factor.
32:32We don't even know what a podcast is.
32:33So you can you can now you can now teleport to Lake Tahoe.
32:37You guys put up a green screen saying you were broadcasting live from Lake Tahoe
32:41during the COVID pandemic.
32:44Those were those were dark days, young boy.
32:47So, yeah, I I all I'm saying is I wouldn't be against them
32:52making these the permanent homes,
32:54because I think that they're onto something with the design.
32:58Anyways, Conor, what can the people look forward to
