00:00In the Panama Canal, the Infrastructure Authority reported on Tuesday the number of ships transits fell by 29% this last year compared to the previous one due to the drought.
00:10According to data provided by the Panama Canal Authority, 9,944 vessels passed through the waterway during the 2024 fiscal year.
00:19That figure represents a 29% decrease compared to the previous fiscal year when 40,080 vessels passed through the Panama Canal.
00:28The authority also reported in a press release that 17 less cargo passed through the canal than in the previous year.
