00:00The Buffalo Bills are 4-2 in first place in the AFC East, the only team in what we expected to perhaps be the best division in football entering this year with a winning record.
00:12The New York Jets are 2-4.
00:14Joe, we'll talk about the Jets for a good majority of this 10-minute segment, so let's start with Buffalo.
00:19Again, they started the year 3-0.
00:21They looked dreadful offensively in two consecutive losses, banged up on that side of the football,
00:27and were last night.
00:29Enter Ray Davis, the rookie out of Kentucky.
00:32What a huge night.
00:33Nearly 100 yards on the ground was Buffalo's leading receiver with 55 yards.
00:38At the end of the game, the Bills win in MetLife a huge divisional contest.
00:43Buffalo is 4-2, 2-0 in the AFC East.
00:49They sit in first place in the division.
00:51They will look to win the divisional crown for a fifth consecutive year.
00:55And now greater than a $3 favorite at minus $3.40 to do so.
01:02Joe, overall this year, the question will not be the Bills being a double-digit win team,
01:07making the playoffs, heck, even winning the AFC East for a fifth season in a row.
01:13It will be a team built, as you can see there, pun very much intended,
01:18moving past the AFC divisional round, into the AFC championship,
01:22and perhaps a Super Bowl appearance for the first time in three decades.
01:28Do you believe this Bills team, as currently constructed, is on a path to do that?
01:35They got a lot of things to clear up here because, I mean, that was a ridiculous performance by them.
01:44Yes, it was good enough to beat the Jets, but let's face it, the Jets are terrible.
01:48Not to mention they had just fired their head coach during the week on a trip back from London.
01:54So, not a good showing there.
01:57Ultimately, Josh Allen saved you when it mattered the most, which is why you have him.
02:04But, I mean, the number of penalties, the allowing a Hail Mary touchdown at the end of the first half.
02:11Inexcusable here. I mean, congratulations on the win.
02:15But as the competition gets better, and we notice, Ben, this is, you know,
02:20fortunate for the Bills, somebody's got to win this division, right?
02:23And looking at the other teams in the division right now, the Bills,
02:27well, you probably have won enough games already to run away with this.
02:31But that doesn't mean you're going to get by Baltimore.
02:34It doesn't mean you're going to get by New England.
02:36They got to get a lot better in a lot of other areas here, Ben,
02:40as the season moves on for me to consider them a contender in any way, shape, or form.
02:44And, Joe, the Bills have moved back after their 3-0 start.
02:48They were neck and neck with Kansas City atop the AFC.
02:51Baltimore has won four straight games.
02:54They are 4-2, second-best price for the Ravens,
02:57much like it looked like before the year got underway.
03:00Those top two teams from the odds perspective in the AFC.
03:03Then Buffalo at plus 490, only about a half buck behind the Houston Texans at plus 550.
03:10Then a dramatic drop-off in a conference that we expected to be the gauntlet.
03:16Now the AFC looks to be that side of the league.
03:1917-1 is the fifth-best price to win the AFC championship.
03:23Hits the 2-4 Cincinnati Bengals.
03:27But, Joe, we showed you the AFC East odds.
03:29Buffalo now a minus 340 favorite.
03:31Based on track record and pedigree in this division,
03:34it makes sense.
03:35This Buffalo team, still with Josh Allen, has won the AFC East four straight seasons.
03:40But they weren't the favorites entering this year to win yet another AFC East crown.
03:46It was the odds optimism backing Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets,
03:51who now, as you can see, second-best price, but at 5-1.
03:56We're still not sure, even when Tua Tungabailoa is eligible to return,
04:00what it means for Miami.
04:02Third-best number, and frankly, the Patriots are a 1-5 football team,
04:06and look about as competitive as we expected as we thought entering the year.
04:12We'll get to the Jets in just a second.
04:15So now, Joe, with the focus on New York, squandering yet another opportunity last night.
04:23The Jets have a win total updated of 7.5.
04:26The playoff price is plus 164.
04:29That was probably bare minimum, even after the change in the coaching room
04:33to fire Robert Sala to elevate Todd Downing.
04:36You had to snap the 13-year playoff drought,
04:39which made Monday night, yesterday, and MetLife that much more significant,
04:44even in Week 6.
04:46For whatever reason, the Jets come up short.
04:49They are a losing football team that often finds ways to actively squander a lead
04:55and lose a golden opportunity.
04:58Joe, what is your outlook for the New York Jets?
05:01Just how big of a blow was the loss last night to Buffalo?
05:07It's a huge blow, and I think, you know, Josh Allen had said it afterward.
05:12You know, it's a big difference sitting 4-2 up two games here
05:15and already have one against the Jets in the books,
05:19as opposed to sitting in second place 3-3 and being 0-1 against the Jets.
05:23It was a huge game for the future of the AFC East, and he said it right.
05:29Our goal is to make the playoffs, and the easiest way to do that is to win the division.
05:33It's a winnable division, and whoever won that game last night
05:37was going to have a leg up on doing just that.
05:40And unfortunately for the Jets, they had everything going in their direction.
05:43Motivation, changes, they have Aaron Rodgers.
05:48They got everything they needed in order to win that game,
05:51except, you know, one team was able to make enough plays to win it,
05:54which shows, to me, experience, and it shows that you have a quarterback
05:59that understands the situation.
06:01You got to win games during the season, Ben, that you're not at your best.
06:05You just win, and you get the hell out, and that's what the Bills did,
06:08and the Jets are still looking for that win this year.
06:11And before you know it, the season could be over before they actually get one.
06:16And we'll see, right?
06:17The Jets are a road favorite in the Steel City Sunday night football again
06:22with eyeballs, attention, and notoriety in primetime again
06:27for Aaron Rodgers and the Jets.
06:29It's a slight point-and-a-half spread in favor of New York,
06:32minus 118 on the money line against the Steelers team.
06:36That is also a winning football team at 4-2.
06:41The Jets are 2-4.
06:44Joe, they have been an underdog since the start of the Robert Saleh era,
06:47which I guess is no longer continuing over in East Rutherford,
06:51since the start of 2021.
06:53They have been an underdog, including last night,
06:55in 45 of 57 total potential games.
07:00In those 45, because last night was basically a money-line bet.
07:04If you wanted to take a point-and-a-half, you didn't cover there either.
07:07They are 13-32 straight up, including 0-3 straight up as an underdog this year.
07:15Also 0-3 against the spread as an underdog.
07:18They're 17-28 ATS as a dog in that span.
07:23They have not been a winning football team, frankly,
07:25for most of the past three-and-a-half years.
07:28They have not been a competitive football team.
07:30And sure, Aaron Rodgers is there.
07:32And there's a lot of offensive talent.
07:34And the defense looks okay, but maybe not elite at this current juncture
07:38against a short-handed Bills team.
07:40Buffalo still was able to manage that football game.
07:43I just don't know where you look to the Jets right now and say,
07:47this is where I feel optimistic.
07:49Yeah, they've given up some opportunities they should have had.
07:53But this is why, when the year is done, at the end of 18 weeks,
07:56they're going to be a winning football team.
07:58I don't know how you find that right now with the New York Jets.
08:01And I'm not sure what that reason for hope could even potentially be.
08:06Ben, I'm with you.
08:08I don't know where the Jets go from here.
08:11They have, and you had said it, you know,
08:14this is a team that pretty much has given away in their last three losses, right?
08:20They've pretty much given away the games here.
08:22This team should be sitting, Ben, with at least two more wins.
08:26They should be four and two at worst in this particular spot.
08:29And we'd be having a totally different conversation.
08:32But we're not.
08:33And we're not because the Jets are not a consistent football team,
08:37and yet here we are heading into week seven,
08:39and we can't rely on all three facets of the game showing up in one game.
08:45And last night it was the defense took a step back,
08:47the offense took a step forward, special teams disappeared.
08:51Can't have it, Ben, heading into week seven.
08:53You just can't trust them.
08:55Truly you cannot, Joe.
08:56I think that's a great assessment.
08:58In March of 2023, Aaron Rodgers emerges out of the darkness
09:02and says he wants to play for the New York Jets.
09:05All the drama that has followed in the last 20 months on or off the field
09:09has resulted in a team right now that is two and four
09:13in favor to miss the playoffs for a 14th consecutive year.
09:17Is it worth it?
09:18That will be a question for a later date.
09:20Welcome to Hour Number Two live right here on this Tuesday
09:24on the Early Line on Sports Screen.
09:26My name is Joe Renneri.
09:27I am Ben Stevens.
09:28Two more hours to go and so much to dive into.
09:32Joe, one of the beautiful things about Tuesday,
09:34one week comes to a close in the National Football League.
09:37That was week seven.
09:38The opening third of this NFL campaign.
09:41A new week is on the horizon.
09:43The guys back in the facility, coaches in front of microphones
09:47before we get into practice starting tomorrow.
09:50So many updates to bring you around the National Football League.
09:55Game two tonight of the American League Championship Series
09:58in the Bronx between the Yankees and the Guardians.
10:01It's Tanner Bybee and it's Garrett Cole.
10:03The pinstripes a hefty home favorite.
10:05Can they take a 2-0 series lead to the land
10:08or will Bybee out-deal Cole?
10:11And the Guardians even up this set at a game apiece.
10:14Our guy Jack McMullin will join us later on in this second hour
10:18for all of our October questions around MLB playoff baseball.
10:23So much to get into here, Joe, in this second hour
10:26with one more hour on the other side up until 11 a.m. Eastern.
10:31Yeah, no, it's going to be interesting here.
10:34I mean, especially in this game coming up with the Yankees and the Guardians.
10:39You can't go down 2-0 if you're the Guardians, I think,
10:44and realistically expect to get this thing back to seven games,
10:48six or seven games.
10:49I just don't see that happening.
10:51So I think this is, I don't want to say must win,
10:53but I do feel like with your ace on a mound,
10:56this is going to be the game they have to win.
10:59Yeah, big time.
11:00And Tanner Bybee is that ace, right?
11:02Everybody still standing has gone through some sort of injury attrition.
11:06But of course, Shane Bieber, the former American League Cy Young winner,
11:10was out from the very early juncture of this year for the Guardians.
11:14All right, NFL news now around the National Football League.
11:18Joe, in the closing minutes of our show yesterday,
11:20I shared this update, but it is worth a lengthier discussion.
11:25Tua Tonga-Vailoa still on injured reserve.
11:27His football future has been in question.
11:30We haven't really heard from Tonga-Vailoa.
11:32We have heard from Mike McDaniel as he has asked just everybody
11:36to give the Tonga-Vailoa family and the Dolphins organization time
11:40and space to make this crucial decision.
11:43For the first time, McDaniel meeting with the media
11:46after the Dolphins' bye week yesterday,
11:48saying that Tua Tonga-Vailoa is expected to play once again in 2024.
11:54Tua remains on injured reserve, but is eligible to return a week from tomorrow.
12:00His practice window opens up.
12:02He could return to the football field in a game any time from that point and beyond.
12:09Again, Joe, I will just say this, right?
12:11We know three documented concussions for Tua Tonga-Vailoa in the last two-plus years.
12:16But the decision, his future in football,
12:19is his and his family alone in conjunction with the medical staff
12:24and, of course, Miami as an organization.
12:27So if he is going to return, we wish him the best.
12:30We'll see what it means for the Dolphins in actual games the remainder of the way.
12:36I mean, listen, it is ultimately his call, right?
12:39You're not going to be surprised, right?
12:41You understand.
12:42As long as you understand the risks, Ben, of what's at stake here,
12:46if him and his family ultimately decide,
12:48if McDaniels and the organization decide it's worth the risk,
12:52then he will be eligible to be activated and to begin practicing on October 23rd at the earliest.
12:59The question is, Ben, is it too late at that point?
13:03The Dolphins, at that point, pretty much eliminated from any sort of postseason opportunity.
13:09And then is it worth him coming back in any way, shape, or form?
13:13Yeah, Joe, it is really interesting, right?
13:15So Miami off the bye last week.
13:17They had eked out a victory over the Patriots in Foxborough 15-10 in week number five.
13:24The offense has looked atrocious, whether it's Skyler Thompson or Snoop Huntley.
13:29The Wonder Boy and Mike McDaniel has not risen to the occasion.
13:32Like some of his peers and buddies have, to work with less,
13:36to make something even look prolific on the offensive side.
13:41But Miami is two and three, and we'll discuss their overall outlook in a second.
13:46But here is what they have before Tonga Bailoa can even return a week from tomorrow.
13:53They take on the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday on the road in Indy.
13:57The Colts, a three and a half point home favorite.
14:00The week following, they take on the Arizona Cardinals.
14:03Tua Tonga Bailoa can technically play in that game.
14:06We'll see.
14:07We did learn, Joe, a couple of weeks ago,
14:10that despite how scary the incident was in week two,
14:13short week Thursday night football game against Buffalo,
14:16pretty quickly after Tua Tonga Bailoa was not exhibiting any symptoms from a concussion,
14:23which was a good sign.
14:24We'll see if he's back to end out October,
14:27because the following week is a matchup against the Buffalo Bills
14:31in a crucial divisional game.
14:33Yeah, it's huge.
14:35I mean, absolutely huge.
14:38But you've got, you know, fingers crossed here that this is all going to work out.
14:42But they, I thought for sure, Ben,
14:45they would have been able to rack up a couple of more wins.
14:49I did not anticipate them being this poor without him on the field.
14:54And, you know, by the time the 23rd comes around this month,
14:57who knows what can happen here.
15:00But if you're the Dolphins, you got to start planning for the future, don't you?
15:04Regardless, minus Tua at some point.
15:07And Joe, that's the interesting thing, right?
15:10Where you're kind of in that limbo area.
15:12You have just given Tua Tonga Bailoa a very, very large contract extension,
15:17a little bit more than $53 million before this year got underway.
15:21So you are contractually tied to your quarterback,
15:24who you hope, if he can remain healthy, is the future of the franchise.
15:28But as we have often said, this is not a shoulder, it's not an elbow,
15:31it's not a knee, it's not an ankle, it's not a hip.
15:34It's a head injury.
15:36And there is still so much uncertain around the future beyond this year
15:40if Tua Tonga Bailoa comes back and how healthy he remains.
15:46And if it's not going to be Tua,
15:48because, again, a couple of more injuries,
15:51maybe just one more head injury could sideline him for the remainder of his career.
15:56We don't really want to project out like that, but it just kind of is the reality.
16:02The Dolphins then are left in this limbo and gray area
16:05where you've got a lot of offensive pieces in Tyreek Hill, in Jalen Waddell,
16:09and you've got Devon A. Chan in the backfield.
16:12You've got all these pieces that should be successful,
16:15and you are not in Mike McDaniel's third year.
16:18Joe, the good thing, though, is for Miami,
16:21we expected the AFC East to be a gauntlet of a division.
16:25It's not.
16:26The Bills are the only team with a winning record.
16:29We expected the AFC as a whole to be a gauntlet of a conference.
16:33Heck, it was going to take you 10, maybe 11 wins
16:36to even earn a wildcard berth in this conference.
16:40It is not so far.
16:42There are only six teams after Week 6 out of the 16 in the AFC
16:47that have a winning record.
16:50In Joe, only five of those six are multiple games above .500 or better.
16:57So even at 2-3, even you could lump in the New York Jets or the Bengals,
17:02both at 2-4, who had playoff optimism before the year,
17:06there is still a hope in this conference even after a sub-500 beginning.
17:12Yeah.
17:13I mean, listen, you're going to have to.
17:15All these teams have done now, the Jets, the Dolphins, the Bengals.
17:20Here we are sitting right in the middle of October,
17:24and all room for error goes right out the window, Ben.
17:27So the only thing you can do is just keep winning games and see,
17:32and hopefully things will break your way,
17:34and other teams will come back to the pack,
17:36but right now the room for error on any of these two win teams
17:40is slim to absolutely none at this point.
17:44Joe, when you look at the AFC playoff odds right now,
17:48we've got the divisional winners that are very hefty favorites,
17:51or the divisional favorites, I should say,
17:53that are hefty favorites to win their division,
17:55hefty favorites to see the postseason.
17:57The Chiefs in the AFC West, the Texans in the AFC South,
18:00the Ravens currently in the AFC North,
18:02and of course the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East.
18:05The only non-divisional favorite or team in first place
18:08that has a minus or two minus money prices
18:11are the Steelers at minus 144 and the Chargers at minus 134.
18:18The Bengals have the seventh best price at plus 114.
18:22The Bengals are two and four, but that seventh best price
18:26would be what would then correspond to the seventh spot
18:30in the conference standings in those playoff odds.
18:34We'll continue to go around the NFL next.
18:36Some news around the National Football League
18:38bright and early on this Tuesday following the end of Week 6.
18:42Of course, the New York Jets have meant drama
18:45for the last 20 months,
18:47whether it's Aaron Rodgers' on-field performances
18:50or guys still trying to get in the facility.
18:53That's Hasan Reddick, who the Jets traded for in the offseason,
18:58who has been holding out, who was not suited up for gangrene
19:02yet during his time as technically a member
19:05of this New York organization.
19:07Over the weekend, Hasan Reddick changed representation,
19:10now signing with famed sports agent Drew Rosenhaus.
19:14The Jets, according to The Athletic's Diane Rossini,
19:16have given Reddick and his refs a short window
19:19to seek yet another trade.
19:22Drew Rosenhaus reportedly has been reaching out
19:25to organizations over the last 12 hours or so
19:29to gauge interest into Hasan Reddick.
19:33It's weird, Joe, to say that Hasan Reddick
19:35could be a difference maker for a team
19:37he has never even played a single snap for,
19:40so I'm not sure how much Jets fans are like,
19:42oh, man, we miss that guy or want that guy,
19:45but he is a playmaker defensively.
19:48He has had double-digit sacks
19:50each of the past four years in the NFL.
19:53Where do you think Hasan Reddick ends up,
19:55if at all, anywhere this season?
19:58Well, the guy had one year left on the contract
20:01when he was traded from Philadelphia.
20:04He says he was promised a multi-year deal.
20:07The Jets say, that's not what we promised.
20:10We told you we would guarantee you $14.5 million,
20:13give you a one-year deal,
20:15and basically give you an opportunity to resign
20:18or become a free agent in 2025.
20:22And yet now he's $5 million in the hole
20:24because he hasn't reported.
20:26He keeps getting docked through the first six weeks of the season.
20:29CAA goes, see ya, dude.
20:31Like, we ain't making any money here.
20:33You're not even willing to budge.
20:35And now Drew Rosenhaus steps in,
20:37and somehow Rosenhaus is supposed to be able to get,
20:40I don't think, the Jets to come to the table.
20:44I think he's got to convince Hasan Reddick that,
20:47listen, man, you got to show...
20:49Nobody is going to give you a multi-year deal
20:51without you having played a snap now on how long.
20:54It ain't going to happen.
20:56So the question to me is whether Rosenhaus can get Hasan Reddick
21:00to get all his money back that he's lost,
21:03guarantee his $14.5 million this year,
21:06and give him an opportunity to sign at the end of the year.
21:09Because if I'm the Jets, why am I giving him a multi-year deal?
21:12I have not seen him play a down of football yet,
21:15plus he's 30 years old here.
21:17Makes no sense for the Jets at all at this point.
21:20Joe, you mentioned this as we were breaking down the game.
21:23The Jets are still the second-best total defense in the NFL
21:26in terms of yardage allowed, 273.
21:29They're really good against the pass.
21:31Josh Allen did go over his prop last night,
21:33but only 215 yards,
21:35despite being 19 of 25 clean and efficient football.
21:40They have not been great against the run,
21:42either this year or a year ago.
21:45Sweet baby Ray Davis, the rookie out of Kentucky,
21:4820 carries last night, 97 yards.
21:51Ty Johnson, four carries for 34 yards.
21:54Ray Davis, the rookie, 55 yards through the air
21:57as well as a receiver last night.
22:00Listen, I don't think the Jets' defense is the reason
22:02they are on a three-game losing skid.
22:05Hasan Reddick would benefit the Jets, you would think,
22:09just from an impact perspective on the defensive side of the football.
22:14It would probably make some sort of impact, but Joe, again,
22:16it's just kind of further into the drama the Jets have seen.
22:20They traded for a guy that wanted a new contract in Philadelphia.
22:24The Eagles said, despite him being close to home,
22:27having grown up in Camden, New Jersey,
22:29playing his college football at Temple,
22:31being a key component of a Philly team
22:33that made the Super Bowl two seasons prior,
22:36the Eagles said, listen, man, we're not paying you,
22:38but go ahead, we'll try to work with you to find a trade partner.
22:41The Jets are like, hey, pick us, pick us,
22:43but Hasan Reddick's like, okay, great, I want a new contract,
22:46and yet the two sides have remained this far apart.
22:49You can blame whoever you want, just goes to show
22:52it's another weird deal the Jets' front office
22:55has been a part of in many.
22:58We'll see where Hasan Reddick ends up, if at all, this year.
23:03All right, Joe, now elsewhere around the National Football League,
23:06there hasn't been many worse quarterbacks in the NFL
23:09over the past three seasons than Deshaun Watson,
23:12and I'm not just saying that from what my eyes see
23:14or the guy's character based on his performance.
23:18Stefanski yesterday, that's head coach Kevin Stefanski
23:20of this Browns organization, meeting with the media,
23:23reiterating that he believes Deshaun Watson
23:26gives them the best chance to win Sunday,
23:29and he is sticking with his quarterback, Kevin Stefanski.
23:32We know you don't believe that.
23:34Joe Flacco led you guys to the postseason last year.
23:37It's the front office, and it's the owner, Jimmy Haslam,
23:40saying, listen, I gave this guy $230 million,
23:43fully guaranteed he needs to be out there.
23:46He needs to earn his paycheck, and by earn,
23:48it means just play, not be good, because Joe,
23:52Deshaun Watson, calling him mediocre
23:54would be the highest compliment he has received in two years.
23:58This guy has been awful.
24:00When you look at the QBR for Watson this year,
24:04it is abysmal.
24:06It is 21.5 out of the 31 qualified quarterbacks
24:11in the NFL.
24:12That is dead last in his span in the National Football League
24:17over the last three years with Cleveland.
24:20He has been near the bottom of every single statistical category
24:25for NFL quarterbacks.
24:27It has been awful to see.
24:29In six games for the Browns this year, Cleveland is 1-5.
24:33Deshaun Watson has not thrown for more than 200 yards
24:36in any of those six games.
24:39Some of it is on him.
24:41Some of it is on the offensive line.
24:43Regardless, Joe, it has not worked,
24:45and Cleveland is in the gutter.
24:48Well, it's just awful on so many levels.
24:52I mean, it's historically awful.
24:54We're talking about also a quarterback now,
24:56Deshaun Watson, that has been sacked 31 times.
25:01That is 11 more than the next closest quarterback
25:05who has been sacked.
25:07That is absolutely unbelievable through, what,
25:10six weeks of the season here, Ben?
25:12No 300-yard offense game, no nothing.
25:16They can't even score 20 points in a game.
25:19And, again, we can blame him, sure,
25:22but when you have a quarterback getting sacked 31 times,
25:26you have got offensive issues here,
25:29a lot of offensive issues.
25:31And I don't know Jameis Winston is going to be any better.
25:34That's the sad part.
25:36Yeah, I don't know where Cleveland goes from here, Joe,
25:39but another component of the AFC North
25:41and really the conference as a whole,
25:43where many thought this team was a playoff contender,
25:46the win total is now 4 1⁄2,
25:494 1⁄2 from 8 1⁄2 in the preseason.
25:54More around the NFL comes your way up there.
25:56Elsewhere around football, both in the NFL
25:59and then some quarterback news in college football,
26:02Nick Sirianni, Joe, at the end of an Eagles win
26:05emerging out of a bye week as an 8 1⁄2-point favorite
26:08against the Sean Watson and the Browns.
26:11They win the game 20-16.
26:13It was tied under 10 minutes remaining in regulation
26:16in the fourth quarter.
26:17Starts jawing with fans in the stands,
26:20pretty much getting mad at them for booing
26:22his stagnant offense midway through the game.
26:25After the game, he said that he was just excited for a win.
26:29Ha ha ha, it's Philadelphia.
26:31The fans hate the team and the players,
26:33but yeah, they still win, whatever it might be.
26:36Sirianni yesterday apologizing for his behavior.
26:40Quote, I was trying to bring energy yesterday,
26:42energy and enthusiasm,
26:44and I'm sorry and disappointed on how my energy
26:47was directed at the end of the game.
26:50My energy should be all in on coaching,
26:52motivating, celebrating with our guys.
26:55I've got to have better wisdom and discernment
26:58of when to use that energy, end quote.
27:00And then after the game, he brings his kids with him
27:03to the podium as he often does,
27:05making it difficult for the reporters
27:07to ask those hard-hitting questions.
27:10Joe, Philly is 3-2.
27:12The Philadelphia Eagles have the third-best price
27:15to win the NFC, or fourth-best price, rather,
27:18to win the NFC at this moment.
27:20They are a 3-2 team in the NFC East
27:24that is still booked as the favorites
27:26even in front of the 4-2 Washington Commanders,
27:30and yet it is the least optimistic 3-2 football team
27:34off a win that you might ever see.
27:37There's not a lot of confidence right now
27:39that this Eagles team is destined to do
27:42what is the expectation that's content
27:45for a conference crown in the NFC.
27:49There was maybe the most least authentic apology
27:54I have ever seen, Ben, ever.
27:57Sirianni, I can promise you this.
28:00Not only is he not sorry,
28:03it's also not going to be the last time
28:05he does something like this.
28:07Let us not forget, he did this
28:09after a Kansas City Chiefs win
28:11back in Week 11 last year,
28:14making sure that he went at the crowd
28:17in the stands there, telling them,
28:18see you later, and going after the fans.
28:21He does. That's who he is.
28:23How in the hell you're a head coach in the NFL
28:26and you are concentrated more
28:28on what they're saying in the stands
28:30than what's going on in the field
28:31may be part of the problem, Ben,
28:33but this is who he is.
28:35The idea that, self-reflecting,
28:37you're not a 21-year-old rookie here, guy.
28:40You're a head coach of a national football league,
28:43and you've done this before,
28:44and I'm telling you, Ben,
28:45he'll do it again when it matters the most.
28:48The next time, it'll probably be the last time
28:51that he's on the sidelines.
28:53And the Eagles had the football, right?
28:55And they were trying to ice away the game,
28:57but it wasn't necessarily like
28:58they were up four touchdowns.
29:00They were up four points
29:02in the final three and a half minutes
29:04when he started jawing with the fans.
29:07Listen, if it does not work out
29:08this year in Philadelphia,
29:10see you, Nick Sirianni.
29:12You're no longer going to be there
29:14because there is not really one thing
29:16that you can point to as a CEO head coach
29:19where you're not involved in the offensive game plan,
29:22where you're not an offensive genius
29:24like LeFleur or Shanahan or McVay
29:27or a defensive gritty guy.
29:29They are going to cast you aside very quickly.
29:32The Eagles still a 3-2 football team,
29:34and again, the favorites to win the NFC East
29:38and earn that playoff berth,
29:40but it's not necessarily the easiest walk to that,
29:44plus 120 the price on Philadelphia.
29:47Joe, is it the end of an era
29:50as we turn our attention now to college football?
29:53You feel awful for this guy,
29:55Utah's quarterback Cam Rising,
29:58a lower leg injury released yesterday
30:01that will end his season.
30:04He did not play the entirety of last year
30:07after an ACL two years ago
30:09in the Rose Bowl against Penn State.
30:12Upon further evaluation,
30:14says his head coach Kyle Whittingham,
30:16Cam Rising's injury has unfortunately
30:19been deemed season ending.
30:22Any future developments
30:24concerning his collegiate eligibility
30:27will be released at a later date.
30:30Joe, because he has played less than four games this year,
30:35he is eligible to at least apply
30:38for a medical red shirt once again
30:41in an eighth year in college football.
30:43We shall see.
30:44It is a very difficult story
30:46for a guy often injured during his time in college football.
30:51Well, that's good news, Utah.
30:53It's now the Isaac Wilson era.
30:56Congratulations there.
30:58That should be great, Utah.
31:01Yeah, what is he, 25 now, Ben?
31:03He's already there seven years, no?
31:06He's...
31:08Seven years, yep.
31:09Utah the preseason favorites in the Big 12.
31:1218-1 to win the conference now.
