00:00Next year is the official kickoff of the campaign period for the 2025 national and local polls in May.
00:06And as our Bien Manalo reports, recent records and numbers show,
00:10candidates getting their hands raised by the president have a far better odds in winning.
00:17One week after the filing of candidates for senators,
00:21party-list groups, and other local positions for the upcoming 2025 national and local elections,
00:27the candidates have their own tricks. Various tarpaulins on each side of the street,
00:32with the candidates' faces clearly visible, that smug of early campaigning.
00:36And some of them are doing it in social media.
00:39But almost all of our countrymen voters each have their early favorites.
00:58In the released survey of the Tangire, some of the administration's senatorial slate
01:05are leading including ACT-CIS Representative Erwin Tulfo and former Senate President Tito Soto.
01:11Second on the list is Erwin's brother Ben Tulfo.
01:14Also included in the Magic 12 are re-electionee Senator Pia Cayetano,
01:19Manny Pacquiao, Ping Lackson, Makati Mayor Abibinay, former DILG Secretary Benjuer Abalosa,
01:26re-electionee Senator Lito Lapid, and incumbent Senator Francis Tolentino.
01:31Also, some of the administration's senatorial slate are leading in the National Capital Region,
01:37Southern Luzon and Bicol Region, Northern and Central Luzon, Desayas, and Mindanao.
01:43The survey was conducted through online and face-to-face polling
01:47throughout the Philippines from October 10 to October 12.
01:50Respondents include 18-year-old men and women who are all registered voters.
01:55According to market research experts, political alliances also have an effect
02:00on the decision-making of voters in choosing the candidates they ultimately elect.
02:05But it is still important to study the backgrounds of the candidates
02:09so they know who they are voting for.
02:11There are also concerns that even though you are not aligned with this party,
02:16the existing party, there are concerns that people are still confused.
02:19At the end of the day, the effect of their self-study on the candidate is great.
02:24They said it is also important that politicians comprehensively lay out their advocacies
02:30and platforms to help voters choose.
02:32It's up to two factors. It's up to the voters to do their due diligence
02:36on who they will vote for. Do your quick research.
02:39For our candidates naman, it's up to them to raise their awareness onto their brand
02:45to show their advocacy.
02:46Based on the survey conducted, only 25% of the respondents choose 12 candidates
02:52while 75% of them only choose an average of 8 candidates.
02:56Dito po sa survey na to, out of 59 candidates na nilatad namin, ang average po 8.
03:03600 lang po ang pumili ng 12.
03:06Ibig sabihin po nito, 1 out of 4 voters, 12 ang candidate ka-pili.
03:12Meron 3 out of 4 voters.
03:14However, experts are confident it will increase in the following months
03:18now that the COC filing is over and the list of candidates finalized.
