00:00This Sunday is full of activities for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:04Let's take a look.
00:08President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. started his week by accepting Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister
00:14and Minister for Rural and Regional Development Dr. Ahmad Zahid Bin Hamidi
00:18as his critical in Malacanang.
00:20The cooperation between the two countries has become stronger
00:24when it comes to disaster response and education,
00:28particularly in Technical and Vocational Education and Training or TVEET.
00:32In a phone call, President R. Marcos Jr. and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed
00:38talked about how the President thanked the Emirati Government
00:43for giving pardon to the 143 Filipinos.
00:46The President also acknowledged the humanitarian efforts of the UAE,
00:50especially in places affected by storms and floods.
00:54Last night, President R. Marcos Jr. led a ministerial dinner for the delegates
00:59of the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction or APMCDRR.
01:05Here, he brought the goal of the Philippines to strive to reduce disaster risks,
01:10especially since the country is one of the most affected by the effects of climate change.
01:15On Tuesday, the President attended the opening ceremony of APMCDRR
01:19where the President called for a safe, inclusive, and more inclusive response to the effects of the disaster.
01:25This is also the time for the implementation of the SENDAI Framework,
01:29an international document for risk reduction
01:32that aims to strengthen the resilience of the countries
01:35and also to strengthen investment in climate financing.
01:40On Wednesday, the President presided over the 2023 Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award
01:45where the contribution of private sectors for the protection of the environment was recognized,
01:50as well as their role in community development and economic growth.
01:54This year, there are 17 awards from the Surface Mining Operations, Quarry Operations, and Mineral Processing categories.
02:01The Executive Board was also the first to approve the two major government projects
02:06in the 21st NEDA Board Meeting.
02:10The Phase 1 of the Health System Resilience Project, worth Php 27.92 billion,
02:16which will strengthen the health emergency in the country,
02:19as well as the preparedness and response, especially in areas affected by diseases.
02:24The Mindanao Transport Connectivity Improvement Project of the DPWH,
02:29which will improve the transport network in Mindanao
02:33and accelerate the transport of agricultural goods in remote areas, was also approved.
02:38On Thursday, the President presided over the inauguration of Sorsogon Sports Arena
02:42which will pave the way for the strengthening of the ability of Filipino athletes.
02:46The President also assured the efforts of the government to further assist in the development of the province
02:52through the implementation of initiatives, especially in infrastructure projects.
02:58The Executive Board also visited the Sampaloc Tenement,
03:01a housing project for informal settlers in the province.
03:05The Sorsogon National Government Center was also there

03:13On Friday, the President formally passed the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning Program Act

03:33The President insisted that this is just one of the steps of the government
03:37to promote the rights of each student in the quality of education.
03:42The President also visited the Manila Fame 2024 Exhibit
03:45where the Filipino design and art were exhibited, which he described as world-class.
03:50The President is confident that with the excellence of the Filipinos in the design industry,
03:54the Filipino art will surely be recognized in the international market.
