00:00It is estimated that Php 8.6 million is the amount of fish caught in the fishing sector in the province of Batanes.
00:08This is followed by the release of the Super Typhoon Juliana.
00:11According to Provincial Fishery Officer Dr. Richie Rivera,
00:14these are the damaged motorized and non-motorized boats.
00:19The same goes for the fish cages in the town of Itbayat, where there is a mass mortality of tilapia.
00:25Rivera also added that there are boats that need to be overhauled because they have been submerged in the sea for a long time,
00:31especially the machines.
00:33The Damage Report Agency has already submitted it.
00:36It is expected that they will be able to fund and provide assistance to the affected fishermen.
00:41Rivera also emphasized the importance of registering fishermen and their boats
00:47to the Municipal Agriculture Office so that they can be counted among the priorities
00:51to be given assistance in case the funds needed for rehabilitation are received.
