House tour of mum's Mauritius home

A woman who moved to Mauritius for a "better lifestyle" says it allows her to be a stay-at-home mum which she could "never afford" in the UK.

00:00Here is the house. Okay, so here is the entrance. Here is the desk charging station. These are

00:06mirrors. Hi! Okay, Jess was having an existential crisis. Hi! Here is the sofa. Here is, I love this

00:13table. Here is our laundry. Here are some books. Here is our curious desk, which contains some

00:19glass that came out of a real volcano that erupted recently in Iceland, which is where we last lived.

00:25Here is a shell from here, and here is a weaver nest from a weaver bird that lives here. This

00:30was on the ground. It was abandoned. Don't worry, we're not psychos. We didn't pick it off a tree.

00:35This is a large decorative gong. You want to play with this? He loves playing with this.

00:42We filled these drawers with toys that he can open and get out at his leisure. This is the

00:47kitchen, which is really modern and great. We've had a really skanky kitchen before,

00:51so this feels kind of special. Drawers. I love putting products in drawers instead of on shelves.

00:57It's a real thing for me. This leads to the outside where the stray cats live. We've got

01:05three stray cats here that we're feeding. Okay, so this is the room of crap, as I call it. It's

01:11where we put all of the things that we don't need or the things that are dangerous for Jasper that

01:14he could, like, pull over himself. So there's decorative stuff, glasses. All of that is just

01:18banned into this room forevermore. This is the main guest room, which is also going to be my office.

01:25So that's where my computer is going to go. It has its own bathroom. Oh my goodness. Wow.

01:32This is our bedroom. And it leads straight out to the pool. Oh my goodness. In this chest resides a

01:39spider. So I haven't opened that chest since I first saw the spider in it. So the spider's still

01:43living in there. Our wardrobe is in there. I'm not going to show you because it's filled with crap

01:47so I can do this video. Hidden, hidden crap. Here is our bathroom. It has an indoor and an outdoor

01:52shower, guys. But look what Julia's found. You see what this is? Is a snake-shedded skin. Skin that's

01:58shed from a snake. We have two sinks. A sink for each person. Me and the Julia. How exciting and

02:03civilized is that? There is our loo. I just can't get over how cool and grown up and sophisticated

02:08this is. And here is Jasper's room. Jasper's never had his own room before. This is so exciting. We

02:13haven't made it fully nice yet. He's sleeping on a floor bed. A double floor bed, no less.

02:18We're going to put these glow-in-the-dark fish stickers everywhere all over the wall.

02:22So cool. There's his various cameras. And then we're going to put safari animals all over this

02:26wall. And these curtains are really good and blackie-outie. And those are coconuts on that

02:30tree, guys. Yes, that's right. This is his noodle station. His nappy-changing thing, which we

02:35actually never use. I'm going to put, like, books and stuff there for him. I'm going to put a mirror

02:39down here somewhere so he can look himself in the mirror because he loves looking in the mirror.

02:42Himself because he is vain. Just like his father. So that's the pool. It is so great. This is a

02:47little thing at the end that you do stuff in. I don't really know what. I guess hang out there.

02:51There's a barbecue there. Oh my god, amazing. There's a spiral staircase up here.
