00:00and I'll see you next time.
00:04New Orleans Saints Stubbs. It's
00:06so impressive to start the
00:07season awakening out here like
00:09are the Saints the best team in
00:11the NFC let alone the NFL and
00:13it looks like it's come
00:14crashing down here in the
00:15latest tweet from Mike Garofalo
00:17sources tell me and at rap
00:18sheet the Saints Derek Carr is
00:20expected to miss multiple games
00:21with an oblique oblique injury.
00:23He suffered against the Chiefs.
00:24Now, let me just play this out
00:26like what was me. I know you're
00:27not supposed to talk about you
00:28know your own bets because
00:29you're not supposed to talk
00:30about it. I need a 10 more
00:32passing yards at a Derek Carr
00:33in that football game where
00:34they were down in the fourth
00:35quarter to cash me in a nice
00:36parlay and send me off into the
00:38night and this guy ends up
00:39getting hurt which turns out
00:40it's oblique. Now, he's going to
00:41miss a couple games. The Saints
00:43now in danger of going two and
00:45oh and losing five straight
00:47games. What does this mean for
00:49the Saints for you with if
00:51we're looking for an extended
00:52absence from Derek Carr? Can I
00:54put my hand up Donnie and say I
00:56also suffer the bad beat on
00:58I took two or seven and a half
01:00passing yards. It wasn't good
01:01enough for me and and look, I
01:03guess we were sort of shocked
01:05at the start of the season with
01:06the Saints looking like one of
01:08the best teams in the NFL 91
01:10points combined with those
01:12beatdowns over the Panthers
01:13over the Cowboys in Dallas
01:15there as well. But since that
01:17haven't looked great. I thought
01:19they showed up and they played
01:20with a lot of heart for Monday
01:22night football against the
01:23Kansas City Chiefs in their
01:24building. They came ready to
01:26play the offense looked a
01:27little better early there but
01:29tailed off Derek Carr leaving
01:31that game, you know with the
01:32oblique he wanted to come back
01:33but obviously cannot send him
01:35back into that one, especially
01:37when it was done there in the
01:38four. So it's not a great
01:39outlook for the Saints. They've
01:41suddenly lost that that
01:42momentum that spark that that
01:44fluidity there with the offense
01:46and if you haven't got Derek
01:47Carr at the helm for this week
01:49going against the Bucks possibly
01:51against Denver the week after
01:53it's going to be tough to see
01:54this team turn things around and
01:56you look at what you are banking
01:57on the first couple of weeks
01:59not that they were getting
02:00lucky, but they've got those
02:01home run hitters, you know,
02:02Chris Alavi Rasheed Shaheed who
02:05saw some massive bombs down
02:07field Alvin Kamara look like it
02:09was a K from, you know, five
02:11six years ago, turn them back
02:12the clock. He's still scoring
02:14plenty of touchdowns, but a lot
02:16has to go in favor when you're
02:18playing that style of football
02:19you one hand away from being,
02:21you know, a 70 yard bomb going
02:23into the house to another
02:24incompletion. And I guess we've
02:26just seen a bit of regression to
02:27the mean and regression to what
02:29we should truly expect for the
02:31Saints moving forward. So I
02:32think we're sort of taken back
02:34in the first couple. I don't
02:35think they're really as good as
02:37the scorelines were telling us
02:38and here we are two and two and
02:40three coming into week six
02:41against the Bucks.
02:43It's funny like the Saints are
02:44under 500 W but their point
02:46differential still plus 44
02:48because how badly they battered
02:49their first two opponents, but
02:51now losing three straight games
02:52and your quarterback certainly
02:53doesn't hold up. They now sit
02:55at two and three in that
02:55division the Buccaneers and the
02:57Atlanta Falcons are above them.
02:58And if we are looking at some
02:59of the odds and the prices
03:01moving forward the NFC South to
03:03win it plus 410 number the NFC
03:05title at 23 to 1 and a Super
03:07Bowl championship at 40 to 1.
03:08Here's the tough part about the
03:09Saints because maybe we're
03:10catching lightning in a bottle
03:11after those first two games
03:13you lose to the Philadelphia
03:14Eagles when you probably
03:15shouldn't have lost that game.
03:16But now you say to yourself is
03:17this really what the Saints are
03:19and Derek Carr misses a couple
03:20weeks and comes back like I'm
03:21still not feeling Derek Carr
03:22like he's going to come back
03:23and be like the Savior of the
03:25Saints. I just don't see it
03:26that way.
03:27No I don't. I think everything
03:29has to be sort of lockstep for
03:31the Saints in that offense not
03:32to score those monster numbers
03:34that we saw through the first
03:35couple of weeks there. But if
03:36you haven't got Derek Carr well
03:38it's a lot easier to scheme
03:39against. The deep shot is
03:41probably going to go away. It
03:42looks like Spencer Rattler's got
03:44a very good chance of starting
03:45in week since going against the
03:47Bucs. There's a lot of question
03:48marks behind his quarterback
03:49play. Obviously a lot of
03:51unknowns. If you can't get a
03:53downfield suddenly Alvin Kamara
03:55is not going to get as much
03:56time trying to find a couple of
03:58scenes and a couple of holes
03:59and the Saints would be up
04:00against it if they drop this
04:01one against the Bucs. You
04:03sitting at what two and four
04:05you look at the division the
04:06Falcons have only looked better
04:08and better the last couple of
04:09weeks. You've got Tampa Bay and
04:10the Bucs. Mike Evans Baker
04:12Mayfield arguably playing their
04:14best football. So the Saints
04:16are right up against it and they
04:17do not have time in trying to
04:19figure things out if they want
04:20to stay hot in the NFC South
04:22if they want to keep this
04:23season alive. It is getting
04:24late early over there in New
04:26Orleans.
