00:00oddsmakers love the 49ers and they are justified in thinking so. San Francisco
00:09two Super Bowl appearances in the last five years, four NFC Championship game
00:13appearances in the last five years, and they have won the division two
00:18consecutive years in the NFC West. All four times they have reached the NFC
00:22title game, they have won double-digit games, three of those four times over
00:27their win total that they enter this year with at 11 and a half. There is a
00:31lot to like about the 49ers and yet whether it's the pessimism with some of
00:37the roster maneuvers that have happened this offseason, at least the guys that
00:41are not there at this moment, Brendan Ayuk or Trent Williams, or just the lack
00:46of Super Bowl winning pedigree we have seen out of the 49ers in the last three
00:51decades, something holds me back from fully buying in or at least betting the
00:56short numbers on Sam Frantz entering a new NFL season. Yeah and there is
01:01something to be said about that because look injuries are going to happen during
01:03the season, devastating injuries to the 49ers to any other team that's going to
01:07derail a season we get that, but we can only play with the deck that we're
01:10looking forward to coming into the season. So if you are putting in a
01:12perspective of the NFC West as a whole, like I understand McVay is a very good
01:17coach and Matthew Stafford's a very good quarterback, but they're not nearly as
01:20talented overall as the San Francisco 49ers, but granted you got to play the
01:2449ers away, but you get the 49ers at home and as I talked about also the
01:28Arizona Cardinals, I think we're gonna be much improved from what you saw last
01:31year because why? Just Kyler Murray being back at a healthy level makes for a
01:35dynamic offense and you dropped in one of the best young wide receivers of the
01:38past 15 years that we've probably seen in college football, that is going to
01:41help and the Seattle Seahawks are always tough, but I'd like the move from Pete
01:45Carroll to getting a new head coach, a defensive minded guy that maybe that
01:48defense is gonna spring into action be even better than it was last year. So
01:52there are a lot of counterparts and also been talking about how much fun
01:55that opening game is going to be against the New York Jets, where we're saying to
01:58ourselves what happens if McCaffrey isn't a hundred percent for that game or
02:02some happens with Brandon Ayuk where things haven't gotten worked out and
02:05maybe just got worked out four days before the game, the same thing with
02:08Trent Williams, those guys haven't been the practice all season long just being
02:12dropped back in. Now granted, same team, same locker room, same house, you're not
02:16moving, same playbook, I understand it, but there's something about getting
02:19those hundreds of reps in the off season, which includes the training camp era
02:24that you need to be there before game number one. So I'm high on the 49ers. Do
02:28I think they win the NFC? They probably do, but there's not one of those things
02:32where you're entering the season. Ben's like, you know what? They're untouchable
02:34at this point. They should be able to run away with this. You know, I talk
02:37about Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes. Hey, who's on that team? Is Patrick
02:39Holmes there? Yeah, they're gonna win the AFC. It's obviously not that level
02:42in San Francisco. You know, I thought they should be Kansas City last year in
02:46the Super Bowl. We'll see how it plays out this year, but I'm pretty high on
02:48the niners, to say the least.
