00:03 - Joe, before we get started,
00:04 is there anything you'd like to preface?
00:07 - No, except that look,
00:08 Dynasty is a huge growing market
00:11 in the fantasy football community
00:12 over the last five years.
00:13 Most of them are super flex.
00:15 This is kind of a look at one of those super flex versions
00:18 of this mock draft,
00:19 because the quarterbacks are very important.
00:21 They're gonna go towards the top.
00:23 But Dynasty is fun if you have a group of people
00:25 that you love playing fantasy with.
00:26 You can play your redraft leagues,
00:27 but if you're really a lunatic
00:28 and you wanna go play these Dynasty leagues,
00:30 it's a huge challenge.
00:31 It's a challenge for me
00:32 in some of the leagues that I played in Dynasty.
00:34 But the top of this draft, obviously,
00:37 okay, Williams goes one.
00:38 I can make an argument for Marvin Harrison, one.
00:41 I can make an argument for Jaden Daniels, one.
00:42 This was a mock that was done on fantasypros.com last week,
00:45 kind of a consensus mock draft.
00:47 You'll see neighbors, Odunze, usual suspects,
00:49 then Drake May at 106, McCarthy at 107,
00:52 because of the quarterbacks.
00:53 Xavier Worthy's really flown up draft boards at 108.
00:56 Now that's interesting
00:57 because of the Rushie Rice uncertainty
00:58 between some of these off the field issues he's having.
01:01 Now, I love Xavier Worthy,
01:03 but I would not put him above Jonathan Brooks
01:05 because Jonathan Brooks is the best running back
01:07 in this draft.
01:07 Another Texas running back, right?
01:09 We're talking about that.
01:10 DeJawn Robinsons.
01:11 We're talking about like the Texas factory of running backs
01:15 that they're so good with.
01:16 And they're in a spot in Carolina
01:20 where we've talked about this a little bit before
01:21 with Derrick Brown in the weeks past,
01:23 where Carolina's gonna run the football.
01:25 Miles Sanders, Chuba Hubbard.
01:27 I mean, these are pieces that are not going to be long
01:29 for this world.
01:31 There's going to be an instance too,
01:33 where we get into the season at some point,
01:35 Jonathan Brooks is healthy.
01:36 Now, Jonathan Brooks might start the year on the pop list.
01:38 It's possible coming off that ACL tear in November,
01:41 but more likely than not, I think he is not going to.
01:45 And I think he's just gonna work his way in slowly.
01:48 But over time, and I mean the first six weeks of the season,
01:52 it's going to be evident who the best running back
01:54 in this backfield is in this room.
01:57 And it's gonna be Jonathan Brooks.
01:58 So I am not worried about the Rashad Pennies.
02:01 I'm not worried about anybody,
02:02 like the depth of the running back position.
02:04 I'm not worried about it.
02:06 At the end of the day,
02:07 Carolina got the right coach, I think.
02:10 Carolina knows what they have to do,
02:11 run the football to support Bryce Young.
02:13 And the guy to do that is Jonathan Brooks.
02:15 Brock Bowers coming up at 110,
02:17 then Brian Thomas at 111.
02:18 Ladd-McConkie next.
02:19 And Matt, I've been talking about Ladd-McConkie a lot
02:22 because with Justin Herbert,
02:24 this is a guy that's already proven himself at this level.
02:26 You take Keenan Allen away, who's the new safety blanket?
02:29 And to me, it's obvious, it's Ladd-McConkie.
02:32 He is that PPR guy.
02:33 It's not Quentin Johnson all of a sudden.
02:35 Johnson might get a better usage.
02:37 I think Jim Arbaugh knows what to do with him,
02:40 considering the game he had against him
02:42 a couple of years ago in the college playoff.
02:43 I think he understands what Quentin Johnson excels at
02:45 and what he doesn't excel at.
02:47 And Brandon Stanley, frankly,
02:48 could not figure that out for whatever reason.
02:50 God forbid we watch the college tape and figure that out.
02:53 But Ladd-McConkie is going to be that guy,
02:56 no matter how much they run the football
02:58 and how much Harbaugh wants to do that
02:59 with Greg Roman as the new OC.
03:00 We know they're a run-first kind of offense.
03:03 There's gonna be passes.
03:04 Ladd-McConkie is gonna be that guy.
03:05 And to me, Josh Palmer's just kind of
03:07 an average NFL wide receiver.
03:09 It's Ladd-McConkie who could step in
03:11 and be that guy that gets 100 targets
03:13 in his rookie season, if not more.
03:15 Matt, that's the first round kind of in a nutshell.
03:17 The two guys right now that I think
03:19 are going at the tail end, Brooks and McConkie,
03:21 that I think are a little bit more valuable
03:22 than people might realize,
03:24 quicker than people might realize.
