00:00I'm delighted to be on site today to see the improvements made at the replacement
00:09Avish water pumping station located within our Carmoni water treatment works.
00:13The recently completed phase one represents three and a half million
00:18investment in the overall Carmoni to Strabane strategic main. This is an
00:23essential water supply system that will ensure the resilience and ongoing
00:27provision of high quality water to customers in the northwest. The critical
00:32water pumping station is needed to improve operational flexibility,
00:36increase the resilience and robustness of the network and provide connectivity
00:40between our resource zones serving the wider Derry, Londonderry and Strabane
00:45areas. Work on the strategic connections between resource zones is essential to
00:51ensure security of the water supply for our customers particularly in the event
00:56of an emergency situation. We appreciate the support of local landowners in
01:01helping us to progress the overall scheme which will deliver an improved
01:05water supply network. Finally I would like to thank the NI Water project team
01:09for their hard work and our partners the main contractor Murphy Dawson One and
01:15project managers Macadam Design.
