00:41We are creating a lot of jobs.
00:44We have an expectation that our both labor force participation and employment will increase this last quarter.
00:54In the latest labor force survey of the PSA last August,
00:58the employment rate reached 96% compared to 95.6% in the past 2023 in the same month and 95.3% in July 2024.
01:09This is equivalent to Php 48.07 million that had a job in August 2023 to Php 49.15 million in August 2024.
01:19Unemployment rate decreased to 4% for the month of August this year from 4.4% in the same month in 2023
01:27or equivalent to Php 2.22 million that had no job in August 2023 to Php 2.07 million this year in the same month.
01:35National Statistician Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa explained that this is a result of the entry of a large number of women
01:42who joined the labor force that also increased the labor force participation rate.
01:46Year on year, between August 2023 and August 2024, about 1.03 million female workers joined the labor force
01:56and about 1.03 million were absorbed in the labor market.
02:03Overall, the labor force participation rate or LFPR remained at a high rate of 64.8% this August
02:11which is equivalent to Php 51.22 million active in the labor market which is higher than Php 50.29 million in 2023.
02:19Meanwhile, according to the National Economic and Development Authority or NEDA,
