00:00J.P. Finley is on NBC4 in our nation's capital. He's also on 106.7, the fan in D.C. He's everywhere
00:12in our nation's capital. It's great to have you on, J.P. I got to ask you, what has the
00:19reaction been to how hot this football team is? Because they've been awful for a long
00:25time and now this kid shows up and they're winning every game they play. They've won
00:30four in a row. And I mean, they lit it up yesterday. What are the fans like and the
00:34reaction on the radio side, on the TV? It's got to be pretty exciting right about now
00:40in D.C.
00:41We're thrilled. It is. It's really exciting. Jaden Daniels is arguably the most exciting
00:47player in the NFL. And it's been so long since there's been a quarterback here. Obviously,
00:53it was Robert's rookie year, but that didn't feel like this. This feels like a far more
00:57sustainable approach offensively. You know, when Robert came in, they introduced the read
01:02option in the NFL and it was kind of took the lead by surprise. Jaden is certainly running,
01:07but he's getting it done with his arm. The accuracy he shows from the pocket is unparalleled,
01:12honestly. It is really exciting. One thing that's kind of interesting, though, is there's
01:18still like this Dan Snyder era PTSD that some fans are kind of nervous to to believe
01:23that they're this good. And I think this weekend's matchup with the Ravens is a huge opportunity
01:30for Washington. Almost. Listen, you want to you want to go win the game, obviously. But
01:34if you go and show you can go toe to toe with Baltimore, I think that changes the perspective
01:40of the commanders around the league and even here at home.
01:45You think they'll be able to stop Lamar and King Henry? They've been running all over
01:50people and stepping on their faces. I mean, they did it again yesterday. Those two are
01:56literally winning games almost by themselves.
01:59Frankly, I don't think they're going to be able to stop them, but the counter isn't so
02:06much. Can they stop them? It's can Baltimore stop Washington? Washington put up to 30 on
02:11the ground yesterday, and that's against a pretty good Browns defense. And if you look
02:16at their mutual opponent in the Bengals, Washington went to since he put up 38 in a Monday night
02:21win. Baltimore went to since he put up 41 in an overtime win. Like those performances
02:28are pretty similar. Now, who knows if that will translate when they get to Baltimore?
02:31But do I think they can stop Lamar and Derrick Henry? Probably not. I'm not sure anybody
02:35can, but they also the Baltimore Ravens also have to slow down Washington because I think
02:41this might be more about, you know, throwing the counterpunch than shutting them down defensively.
