00:00If you look at Deadline Day, the biggest move was Marshawn Lattimore, which was made by
00:08the Washington Commanders.
00:09I'm not sure anything else really came close.
00:13There's some moves that happened before Deadline Day that you could argue were as big, if not
00:19bigger.
00:20Devontae Adams to the Jets, DeAndre Hopkins to Kansas City.
00:22A lot of the wide receiver movement was stuff that we were talking quite a lot about on
00:27our show.
00:28I think we can get into some of the exacts in a second here, but Don, was there anything
00:32from the deadline that really stood out to you?
00:36Not necessarily, because I think the teams that made the moves were in the right position
00:41for those.
00:42You didn't want to go, like for me, let's just take the Baltimore Ravens.
00:44Boy, if they could get Devontae Adams to swing for a real number one wide receiver, that'll
00:48shift the scales.
00:49No, it doesn't.
00:50That is an unbelievable offense now that added Deontae Johnson, which looks like they might
00:52want to send him packing already, which is the type of performances that he's getting.
00:57Let's take a look at the Pittsburgh Steelers out there needing a secondary threat, but
00:59didn't want to go all in and disrupt their game plan.
01:02They get Mike Williams, who I really think is going to be a help on the outside.
01:05There wasn't really anybody outside of, let's just say, Detroit, who I think made a great
01:09move with Tadarius Smith.
01:10If they really want the ladder up, which we're talking about, hey, maybe go and get a Myles
01:14Garrett to be an all-in type of situation.
01:17But I thought it was an eventful and fruitful deadline, Joe, for me, because I think teams
01:22picked up where they needed, but I didn't see one where I was like, ooh, they really
01:25made a mistake by not doing this, or maybe they didn't swing for the fences.
01:28Yeah, I like the moves that Pittsburgh made in terms of Preston Smith and Mike Williams,
01:32because I think both of those players can contribute down the stretch, especially for
01:37a playoff run, and I believe Mike Williams will have a factor, potentially, in terms
01:40of today's game.
01:41I'll throw out Minnesota.
01:42You know, we saw Darryl Shaw go down.
01:45They get Cam Robinson to solidify the offensive line, and Cam Akers, as well, is still a productive
01:50running back to bail out Ty Chandler and Aaron Jones.
01:53They've both been injured throughout the year, so that can benefit Sam Donald in the
01:58rushing attack.
01:59So not bad moves.
02:00They didn't cost a lot, but I think Minnesota did a pretty good job, as well.
02:04I think, to me, what is interesting, we don't have, within the NFL still, I guess, the level
02:11of Major League Baseball, or maybe even within the NBA, of sellers, where you can come in
02:16and call a team and actually extract superstars.
02:21Lattimore, again, is close to that situation, but, man, there's a big distance for what
02:26was done on deadline day.
02:28Devontae Adams was a very unique situation, and Hopkins is more, I mean, clearly he had
02:35a great game for Kansas City, but Hopkins is not one of the five best receivers in football
02:39anymore.
02:40That's just the reality.
02:41You know, we wondered if people were going to be able to call the Cleveland Browns and
02:44successfully get big Miles Garrett offers on the table.
02:49And I don't know if it was something that the Browns would ever consider, but I wonder
02:54if just the way the NFL is, they would never consider it, right?
02:59Where even if the Lions did offer up the outrageous suggested two firsts, gibs, two seconds, golf,
03:05you know, what would actually have the reaction been there?
03:09Because on one end, just using the Lions as the example, because that's who they were,
03:14if they brought Miles Garrett in, I'll tell you what, I also would not have been betting
03:18Detroit minus 15 and a half tonight.
03:20Like, you got to be kidding me.
03:21I wonder if there is some still hidden value within the NFL, because I think it's something
03:26that teams still don't really want to do of embracing a teardown tank and giving yourself
03:33some time to process Donnie a little bit at this level.
03:36And also the NFL is getting, because I always say, like when I was growing up, eighties
03:40and nineties, whenever we have Adam Kaplan on, it's like nobody ever made a trade.
03:43Like there was the trade deadline, but nobody ever talked about it because it wasn't a single
03:45trade that was actually going down.
03:47I think they might be even a little bit better, Kevin, holding off maybe another week or two,
03:51because then you really start to say, we're not in it at this point, but when you have
03:54seven wildcard spots and you have a team with three wins and let's just say four losses,
03:59are they really going to sell?
04:00I say, you know what?
04:01Coaches don't want to do the general managers because you can say, oh, hey, look, the owner
04:03gave me my blessing to sell.
04:05And at the end of the season, they turn out to be two and 15.
04:06You get fired.
04:07Like, well, then I was just going to cap.
04:08Everybody won three more games at this point and kept my job.
04:11I think if they push it back, maybe an extra week and also sometimes we see things play
04:14out that the Rams were up for sale for that one Thursday night game.
04:18We're even hearing stuff like Matthew Stafford's going to go.
04:20Cooper Cup is up in the air.
04:21Anybody that you wanted on defense here, they win a game or two, and now they're looking
04:24to be back in because that's seventh wildcard spot.
