00:00What is your activity?
00:04Our activity is primarily focused on rescue.
00:07We take care of the rescue at sea,
00:10and in the case of Venice, also in the main canals of the lagoon.
00:14Our activities then take place on many fronts.
00:18We take care of maritime control,
00:21fishing controls, environmental controls,
00:24we do navigation safety,
00:28we have a wide range of activities on which we focus.
00:34But our main function is that of rescue.
00:38We are also a corps that is based on 11,000 men and women.
00:44We are scattered over an area of about 8,000 km of coast,
00:48therefore on all Italian coasts.
00:50Divided into various captainships, some larger, some smaller,
00:54we try to meet the needs of the entire Italian coast.
00:59The Port of Venice is a beautiful initiative that is carried out every year,
01:03and we participate happily, with great enthusiasm.
01:07This year, in particular, the activity takes place on this one day in Venice,
01:13while yesterday we did it near the Port of Chioggia,
01:16where we welcome children by showing them our models,
01:20our motorbikes,
01:22the videos in which we show our main institutional activities.
01:27The novelty of this year is also the use of a visor,
01:30in which we simulate a rescue with the helicopter.
01:34So the children can identify themselves in the rescuer,
01:38and therefore they simulate the fall into the sea and the recovery of the shipwreck.
01:43So it is an activity that has also been very successful,
01:46children are very fun.
01:48Now they are very interested,
01:50in fact we also do a lot of activities in schools.
01:53In fact, in the last period, in short,
01:55we do a lot of dissemination to make our world known,
01:59from an early age, and who knows,
02:01maybe in a future stimulated also to take this career choice.
