00:00Certificates of Candidacy for being a Congressman in Metro Manila are unique.
00:07Some are veteran politicians, some are new,
00:11but there is also a COC filer of a Gen-C teacher.
00:15This is the story of Mela Lesmoraz.
00:19It has been 4 days since the COC filing in Comelec NCR in San Juan City
00:25for those who want to run as a Congressman in Metro Manila.
00:29But until now, no one has filed a candidacy from 6 cities in the region.
00:35That includes Pasay City, Pasig City, Marikina City, Mandaluyong City,
00:41Muntinlupa City, and Valenzuela City.
00:44That's why Comelec NCR reminds us
00:47not to delay some aspirants and file a COC as soon as possible.
00:54The agency is open to accepting COCs even on weekends.
00:58We are open on Saturdays and Sundays or October 5 and 6
01:02for the reception of the Certificate of Candidacy.
01:05It will start from 8 o'clock until 5 o'clock in the afternoon.
01:08One of the COCs who filed today is a 28-year-old senior high school teacher named Barry Tayam.
01:15He wants to run as a Congressman for the Las Pinas Loan District
01:19where he has a big name in politics.
01:24For the youth, I think I would represent the JNC
01:31because I told them that the youth only complain.
01:34It's true that most of the time, no one can run.
01:38So I think there needs to be one or someone to step up from the younger generation
01:43because we are the future leaders.
01:45There are also some current Congressmen who have filed a COC for re-election.
01:51Like Quezon City 3rd District Representative Frans Pumarin
01:54and Quezon City 4th District Representative Marvin Rilio.
01:58They were accompanied by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte
02:01and Vice Mayor Jian Soto in the COC filing deal support.
02:05They still have some pending house bills,
02:08especially the four-piece that will amend the Republic Act 11300.
02:18And right now, it's in the committee hearing already.
02:20Ready for discussion.
02:22We'll see free medical checkups for all Filipinos.
02:27We need to continue what we started.
02:30Right now, Mayor Joy Belmonte and of course Vice Mayor Jian are the speaker.
02:35We built our own hospital in the four districts.
02:39The Makati City Mayor and Vice Mayor aspirants
02:43Sen. Nancy Binay and Monsur Del Rosario
02:46were also accompanied in the COC filing their support for the Makati City 2nd District
02:52former Makati Councilor Vincent Cese.
02:55We will vote for the vulnerable sectors.
03:00Our senior citizens, PWD.
03:03Aside from them, there are also some COCs like former Congressman Edgar Erice
03:09who was appointed as the second district of Caloocan City.
03:14The COC filing will last until October 8.
03:18Mela Lesmoras for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
