00:00hello hi and welcome back now if you as you may know the last video crashed if you were
00:08haven't crashed well apparently according to the system because I've got too much geometry
00:16in the scene now I know there's not too much geometry in the scene there's only a few slabs
00:23and things like that I think he can't cope with it it's just too much I think so what
00:31I've done I've loaded in because we're not working on Red Bandana anyway because that's
00:35done so we're working on this part and we're working on the route so as I said this is
00:41what we're working on anyway so luckily we can load this part so as I said I do have
00:46the actual models as I said when I when I do the models I do export them I say make
00:53so just in case it crashes and I know if I bring in Red Bandana in here and move the
00:59actual floor this part is going to crash because you can't handle it it's too much so that's
01:08not really any good for me and I'm thinking yeah so I'm thinking is that really the actual
01:14limit of the memory in the computer I'm thinking yeah apparently so I'm thinking okay there's
01:21nothing I can do about it if that's the limit that's the limit I'm thinking what is the
01:25total limit of Blender how much how much memory can you put in it how much can you actually
01:33hold in the actual thing I'm thinking now I know I'm holding quite a bit of data I really
01:40am so don't forget I'm not just loading this part even though it looks like I'm only loading
01:46this part I'm loading a lot of data so I'm thinking it can't seem to cope with it it
01:52just can't so I'm thinking yeah I don't know it might not be the software it could be the
01:56computer itself maybe I'm thinking the computer's got quite a bit of memory so anyway all we're
02:01doing is basically just a map so what we need to do is exclude the actual you see the
02:15pavement on the floor we need to exclude this over here of course this is not part of this
02:21this is part of the road so I need to exclude the pavement for Redband Alley out so I need
02:30to load this with Redband Alley and put it over here because this is the part we need to put from
02:35here to here but not this part because it's not part of this because this is part of the road
02:42and this is part of the pavement so even though this is part of Redband Alley this part is all
02:49of it's part of Redband Alley already so I need to hide this part not that one hide that and select
02:57all of this and to top view I need to move this all the way to the end here bring this back you
03:11see it's going to twitch at the end of that it's slightly off the scale to bring it back a little
03:21bit well it's actually right just before the line so I've got a slight little gap down the side
03:27now even though it looks like a slight little gap that's a big gap believe me so I think yeah
03:36so that's basically how we're kind of doing kind of slap section so I mean it's getting better but
03:45I want to get rid of the line and I want to get rid of the camera both of these go into this mode
03:53go here go apply all transforms I want to go here I want to export as Goliath go back in here I want
04:02to call this I want to call it B1 for a moment just so it's got a totally different name because
04:15I need the actual colors from Redband Alley so how I'm going to do that is I'm going to delete that
04:24I need to open this select all of this go back here go back here go back in here import
04:44what you didn't save it yeah I said the reason why Redband Alley is not Redband Alley is the
04:59fence itself because the fence is a lot of geometry on the fence and it kind of just has a little
05:04kind of stool kind of yeah making a chilly fence whatever it's just one that moves so what I need
05:12I need the color of the slab so what I need to do in here temporarily to make some planes
05:24plane that this one to that no plane this one that I need so I need the gray for the concrete
05:48I need the slab that's it I think yeah let's just do that so we got plane one plane two so
06:02we're gonna need to open this up open the materials even though there's a lot of materials here
06:08there's actually not or they actually are so this is Redband Alley so I think in here I need a new
06:15one for that but that's my red band around the house do I have a red band around it so I need
06:27the concrete so this is concrete here I think concrete that's the post I think that concrete
06:46that concrete there I'm not too sure which one it is I know it's not these ones the post it could
07:02be the material here I don't actually know which one it is to tell you the truth it's gotta be this
07:17one it's gotta be that I'd say because I've got a different color in the crack see the crack of the
07:24concrete quite a different color in the crack so I've got a dark one and a white one yeah just
07:38trying to think so I said I can't load it in with that I don't think I'm just trying to think the
08:00best way to do it I don't want it to crash again let's import it let's just import the whole thing
08:07it might because you might let us do it I don't actually know so in this one I said we need to
08:24kind of still kind of modify the edge of that I said the edge of this part connects to here
08:31see here connects to that part red band I think ok let's let me delete that I want to save this one as B2
08:52just in case it crashes because I want to glue them together I can't really glue that to that because
09:06if I glue it I'm not going to glue that I'm really not what I need to do is as I said this
09:17color is kind of actually all that's the same color I think okay so what I might be able to do here
09:25I'm just going to save on textures I suppose go object I need to tilt so this got really hard
09:38to kind of see the actual faces go around the model and select all the faces and turn it off
09:51I said when you go around you just don't click that gap even though it's only a small gap it's
10:11not actually a small gap it's quite big so you can technically click on it. I said I'm trying to do it as fast as possible
10:23but I've got to make sure I don't do it too fast because I want to miss something and because now I know I want to
10:30basically limit of my even my memory or the limit of Blender. That's not very good it's got a limit like that on it
10:43not really I don't think it's the computer because it's actually a gaming laptop that I'm using it's got quite a bit of memory
10:53so I don't think it's that. I'm not saying it's not that it could well be that but it's the first time so far of using Blender
11:05and it actually hits the memory limit. But of course I know that what it's doing is actually the fence that's what it's doing
11:19so the fence needs to be separate and that's probably why most people use 2D textures for the fences because it kind of makes the memory sweaty
11:33I suppose. But I don't want to do that because I think the game engine itself should be able to run more of this without a problem
11:44so I'm going to right click and I'm going to split the slabs. I'm going to hide this first and make sure that that's the slab
11:53so I'm going to go SB. I'm going to call it SB9 not for any particular reason I'm going to call it SB9 just so we know it's a totally different slab
12:06I don't want to hide that. I want to click on the framework and add a new texture to it. Apply the texture. Now what I'm going to do here
12:25I want to try this colour and see if it's the same colour. It might be the same colour. I think actually that is the same colour.
12:44As I said I'm using Blender's default colours. That's what I'm using. So that's great. Leave that there. Bring this back.
13:01Now of course in this one I'm going to have to use the slab colour. So the slab colour is here. So if I double click on the slab.
13:21Go to here. See it's like a brown colour. I'm going to go here. Right click and I'm going to copy the colour. So the slab I can actually physically call it that colour.
13:41So that's the colour of the slab. Just in case I accidentally delete the colour. Back to here. Add a new colour. It's got a material. Delete that. Go in here.
14:01Paint it. Now of course you can't see the colour because obviously it's not part of the slab system. So I need to split this part of the road here off the actual road.
14:18I'm going to take it off the actual road and stick it back on here. Because it actually is part of this. So if I take this one now and go here and export this.
14:39If I export that with the code. Delete that. Import it. So it changes colour. You have to export it to bring it back in. Unless you go into live mode.
15:01And then it's different. That's my terrain. Oh it actually is there. I actually forgot that that was actually part of that. So this one is now part of red mandali.
15:20So in order to do this. Click this one. Go here. Click red mandali. Go here. It will join the colour. You see it's gone now. Look it's there now. So now red mandali is all of that.
15:38So it's all grey except for the end of here. Because we didn't do it. What are we doing? Go back down to here. As I said just go here. Save this again. So I'm going to call it B3. Just in case B2 crashes. I mean B3 crashes.
16:00I said I'm not too bothered about it. So let me bring back the slam. Ok now I'm going to chop the slam as well. I should have chopped that first before painting it. Because now he's going to make life a little bit harder. So I think it doesn't really matter.
16:17Now what I should do is just draw a line across that. So I might actually import that again. Because it doesn't really matter how I do it. But it's going to be a whole lot easier for me if I just chop it and bring it back in.
16:47So I'm going to go back to here. You see that one is separate to that one. Actually I don't need to chop it. I don't think. I'm going to square frame. Go to points. Go to points themselves.
17:12Select these points. I should have just moved this to here. Hopefully that works. How come I didn't move that? Is that special? Is there something wrong with that?
17:37Of course that's a separate frame isn't it. Ok so I might have to just basically chop them off and then rebuild that part. Maybe. Let's go back into this one. Click on this part.
17:59Go back into edit. I said it takes a few minutes because obviously because it's a different area. It's part of that isn't it. Let's have a look at this part.
18:17I'm just looking at this part. That's what I'm looking at. I don't want it. I said I don't want it part of this floor. But obviously. See how it's gluing me. I can't really unglue it.
18:39It will be harder for myself. I'm going to go here. I've got to remember to put these back. It's definitely struggling to do it.
19:05It's struggling to select it. There's only a couple of dots there. There's only 3 dots. 4 dots. I think you might crash again. Really. To tell you the truth.
19:21If it does crash then I'm going to basically just bring in the two models and then I'm going to basically cut it off first. I'm trying to delete.
19:41I think you shouldn't really do that. I said you need to really concentrate on this. I'm not going to do much on the right. You have to do that.
20:00Yeah.
20:10That is properly struggling now.
20:15As I said. I've kind of almost taken it to it's limit. Because I'm actually deleting things it should become a lot more easier.
20:25Of course. It's not really becoming any easier. Go here. Delete this. Take both of these. It's going to struggle anyway. Delete these two for a moment.
20:44As I said we have to rebuild the edge. We've got no choice. I'll just have to rebuild it.
21:02Go to extrude I suppose.
21:12Put no on that.
21:30Obviously I'm not going really slow for any reason. It's just really struggling to move. So I need to extrude this one more.
21:49That's too far in.
22:18I only want to move it once.
22:25I'm going to save that. Go back to this view.
22:32As I said that's not pavement. Of course this curve is different to that curve.
22:38Maybe it's just going to be a different type of curve. So I'm going to have this one slightly different.
22:53This could actually be like a ramp.
23:00I could keep it the same as that if I wanted to. Whatever.
23:05I think it's not really.
23:11So what I'm going to try and do is add a line on it.
23:18As I said I don't really want to add much more geometry to it because it's going to become a completely structured machine.
23:30It's really struggling to move it.
23:39Hopefully it works better in the mainframe.
23:51As I said I'm going to have to add this in here once I do this.
23:57I was going to sort that dual faces and then everything in green.
24:09Once I'm done now.
24:13I can't really wrap a face around that.
24:17I'm trying to speed up everything I'm trying to do.
24:26As you can see I'm kind of.
24:29My computer is going to cool itself down.
24:33I think it's not really doing anything. It's just leaving one line.
24:37The reason why it's struggling is because as I said it's trying to keep the fence over there.
24:43If I delete the fence it will be normal.
24:47But I think that's pointless.
24:51So put that line in there.
24:55I think now that I've done that.
24:58What I can do is here.
25:02Kind of curve the end of it.
25:06That's what I can do.
25:09Take the point.
25:12Take this point here.
25:17Kind of push it down.
25:22Not too much down.
25:26Just a little bit.
25:37Kind of ok.
25:40Not too great.
25:43It will kind of work as a different kind of curve.
25:47I suppose.
25:50I can make it kind of rounded.
25:53But I don't want it too rounded.
25:57I might actually drop the curve down a bit more than that.
26:00About half way.
26:03No let's leave it on that.
26:06As I said the computer wasn't really stressing itself.
26:09As I said you get to here.
26:13A little bit of a slope.
26:20Now I'm looking at it I don't actually like the slope.
26:29I know it's different but I don't want it.
26:32I don't like it.
26:42Let me just undo that.
26:45Let me just undo this.
26:48I'll put the story back.
26:51There's the D.
26:54There's the D.
26:57There's the D.
27:00There's the D.
27:03There's the D.
27:06There's the D.
27:09There's the D.
27:12There's the D.
27:15Okay with this one take you for what I see.
27:18As I said, I don't want to add geometry because I've still got to fix that lip and I've got
27:41to fix that over there. As long as the majority of it is finished I don't really care at that
27:51part, not really. Join this to there to there. Can I join that or is that separate? I think
28:09actually that part is separate. That's separate from that. So what I need to do is join this
28:19part to this part. I can't agree. Just looking at it and thinking. Like here I need to join
28:40that. I can't agree. I can join. I thought it wasn't part of the same thing. I need to
29:03make sure that I move these into the correct place. This is really tiny so I've got to make sure
29:13I can't get these. What are you doing? Come on, sort out. I'm not trying to make it longer. I'm
29:30trying to connect the dots. It's not having none of it at the moment. Like these now. What I need to do
29:44here. Go back here. Select that one. This one. Select it. There we go. It's gone out and become
30:01pure white. I think it's great. That's definitely a memory problem. That's what that is. I don't
30:06know what I'm trying to do really. I've been throwing that much data actually in the model.
30:11Not really, they're not. That looks like it's upside down.
30:41Just click the dot. Come on. As I said, it's upside down. This one should be flipped around.
31:06It shouldn't be like that. Obviously it's not working. Click on the face. I can't even click
31:31on it. As I said, I'm not going to have to be able to split the face from the model. As I said, Blender can't cope with the
31:50fence. There's a little bit too much for it. I need to see how big this file is. I don't even think it's a gig.
32:15I don't think it's a gig. I don't think it's a gig. I need to do that one there. I need to do the same thing here. As I said, as you can see, I am trying to click the actual
32:31model. Again, it's back to front I think. I really don't understand why it does that.
32:58I'm going to wait for it to catch up. So I've got one face normal and one face downwards. Flip the face over. Click back on the face.
33:19As you can see, it's not working. It's doing whatever it's doing. Flip the face because it's no good. Click the dots. Try and go in a bit closer.
33:38I don't know why I don't do it the first time. I really don't.
34:08As I said, what I need to do now is look on this side. You see that little strip? That comes here. This little strip can go way down to the end of there.
34:23Normally this would take a few seconds. But because it's kind of ridiculous, I can't do it. So I'm going to press K on the keyboard. I want to go from the bottom of here to here.
34:45Press K on the keyboard. So I might have to basically delete these two again because it's not doing it. If I don't do it, then it's going to be harder to put in a very simple geometry.
35:05Of course, I'm going to try and do it the simplest way because of the speed of the video.
35:26Now this one, I have to kind of eyeball it because that's top view. Actually, if I go in here, I might be able to see how big it is. That's square.
35:48Extrude. Extrude this end.
36:06Go back to points. Connect this one. This one.
36:13I said this is the very edge of the slab. So it's a fact that I can't put it in there. I have to put it in there.
36:35That's the very edge of the slab. You have to go in there because one's going to be missing a lot more concrete.
36:58Do you know what that looks like? I want to be able to fill that gap in here. I can't have that gap under there. I can't have it. So I need to fill the gap.
37:15I'm just kind of looking. Actually, I'm wondering if I can do it slightly different. If I fill this gap here. Let me just do that because that's going to be a whole lot easier.
37:38If I fill that gap like that. Then I choose this one, this one. Do you mind? This one and this one. Now if I go top view for this. It's the same thing so it doesn't matter how I do it.
38:03I'm going to exclude.
38:18If it moves it might be great.
38:25If it didn't move.
38:42Not kind of working properly.
38:52What are you doing then?
39:00How is that snapping to the other side?
39:14Let's just leave it like that.
39:24I've got to move it because I need to connect it to the end of the fence. As I said, it's just taking it slow. I want to put this in the area in here. All I do is just join these corners. That's it. Hopefully.
39:38I need to push it back right to the edge of here.
39:46That's the guttering done for that side.
40:08Split the fence off here so it's a bit more simpler. So Blender can cook with it and then when I get into the final game I can put the fence back on it.
40:22I've got to wait for it to select the button because I can't do nothing.
40:29Back to top view.
40:34There goes a snap.
40:53I haven't tried to do it as quick as I can.
41:17All I've got to do is click to that.
41:23I can go here.
41:25See.
41:28Just this little corner.
41:32That's basically it I think.
41:39So this one is going to be a bit tricky because this one has to go down.
41:50It's not there is it? I forgot it wasn't there.
41:57See the frame around here? See that frame there? There's no frame here.
42:08So we have to make a frame.
42:12So this dot has to go to that dot. It doesn't matter how you do it.
42:18So extrude.
42:21Extrude the single hair all the way down to the end of here.
42:26That's obviously too much.
42:29Move it back a little bit.
42:35I'll do that.
42:41That might work.
42:43That actually might just work.
43:01I can't click it. I can't click that.
43:04I should have clicked that but I can't click it because it's a slap.
43:08Of course it's a slap.
43:13I need to leave that hair there because I can't get rid of it because it's part of the slap.
43:20So this one.
43:26That's part of the slap. So that should go to here.
43:36There's two there is there?
43:40So I've got the one.
43:44How many is that? Three.
43:46Not three there.
43:48I know there's two.
43:52So this one here.
43:54I didn't see the two of them.
43:56So I need to extrude this one.
43:58As I said if you're still watching my video I really appreciate it.
44:05As I said sometimes everything goes according to plan.
44:12And sometimes everything goes a bit wrong.
44:17It's not wrong. It is doing it.
44:20It's just really slow at the moment.
44:24It's all down to the memory I think.
44:28I don't really want to say it's Blender because I don't think it actually is the software.
44:39Because if you want to click on them they're just really really slow.
44:47So fill that gap.
44:49Do you see the lip for the actual edge?
44:53That's what that gives me.
44:55So I think it's going to be great.
45:02Come on. Really?
45:07It's only one dot.
45:10Well two dots.
45:14So I can't click it because if I click it it's going to crash.
45:19And I don't want it to cut and do my video off.
45:28Can you just click the dot for me? Come on.
45:37I'm trying to zoom out now. That's what I'm trying to do.
45:41I can't do that.
45:44Come on.
45:48I can't zoom out. What's that about?
45:55I can't zoom out for some reason.
45:58So I need to make sure that this one goes down here.
46:04Maybe to that one.
46:06Because it's got to look the same as that. See that?
46:11It's got to join to that.
46:15Of course I can join that to that and join it to here but there's nothing here to join it to.
46:19Absolutely nothing.
46:25Ah. You know why I can't join it?
46:29Because it's not part of that is it?
46:35OK. I'm kind of stuck in this mode. I can't get out of it.
46:39So I'm stuck on ground level at the moment.
46:42OK. I can't get out of it.
46:46OK. That's kind of weird.
46:49You see the curb?
46:52The curb comes right across here.
46:55I need to change this to a slab. I can't have it like that.
46:58So what I'm going to do because it's going to crash I'm going to stop the video here.
47:02So basically that's the whole red band alley.
47:05As I said I can't work like that. I just can't.
47:08So I think it's almost impossible.
47:11As I said all I'm going to do basically is make that into a slab.
47:14That's what I'm going to do.
47:16So like a joint. So what I might do actually
47:19because he's kind of right on the edge of the pavement
47:23I might have like a big long drain going there.
47:26I don't have a drain. I'm going to have a drain there. That's what I'm going to do.
47:30Just so it's a little bit different.
47:33Anyway that's basically the end of red band alley.
47:36That's the foundation for it.
47:39So I need to close the window before it's going to crash on me.
47:42I know it will crash. I know it will.
47:45As I said all I'm going to do basically is just chop it there.
47:48You know that grip that we put on the road?
47:52I want to put that grip inside here maybe.
47:55And then stretch it to full length of it.
47:58So it looks like a bit of guttery but really it's not.
48:01It's just there to hide the actual concrete.
48:04So that's what it's going to be there for.
48:07Anyway as you say thumbs up, thumbs down, subscribe, thumbs down, subscribe.
48:11Thanks very much for watching the video. I really truly appreciate it.
