00:04People with SMA can now find and make their voice heard with SMA Talent School,
00:10an online training project of nine months,
00:13to discover and enhance vocal skills for those who live with SMA, muscle and spinal atrophy.
00:19Didactic partner of the initiative, the High Professional Training School,
00:24ACADEMIA 09 in Milan.
00:26The project is developed by the NEMO Clinical Centers,
00:29the National Network of Centers for Cure and Research on Neuromuscular Pathologies,
00:34and by the SMA family, the national association of reference for this pathology, together with Roche.
00:39We were able to create this project that includes professionalism
00:44on the objectives of the people, from singing to acting,
00:50and so we have further expanded this type of relationship.
00:56Our clinicians will be available.
00:59I think we have broken the fourth wall, as they say, in theater,
01:03and we have come to tell ourselves even more outside,
01:07and to be able to tell people with SMA,
01:11you decide who you are, what you want to do, and do it using your voice strongly.
01:18Through SMA Talent School, the voice of people has no boundaries
01:22and becomes a resonance box for a culture of inclusion centered on the value of the person.
01:27In this project, people with SMA have the opportunity to implement their light,
01:34to work on their ability to communicate, but also to communicate to the world
01:38that having SMA does not just mean being on a wheelchair,
01:42but it also means that through wheelchairs we can move
01:46and we can go into the world with people,
01:49to tell through our voice, our life, what we are and what we do.
01:54The academic path involves 67 participants,
01:58with an age range between 9 and 63 years,
02:01a project that aims to raise awareness of spinal muscular atrophy,
02:05which in Italy affects every year a child over 10,000
02:08and leads to the progressive loss of motor skills.
02:11This project was born from a collaboration with the SMA family
02:15and with the Cinemo clinical centers.
02:17We could not not embrace it,
02:19believing deeply in the possibility of creating together a more inclusive society.
