00:00On October 1st, Clara Sheinbaum will become the first woman constitutional president of
00:04Mexico.
00:05Everything is ready for the ceremony.
00:07What will the protocol be like?
00:09Our correspondent Daniel Rosa tells us.
00:11With a popularity rating of more than 70 percent, Clara Sheinbaum will receive the presidential
00:18stash this Tuesday and will be sworn in before the constitution, officially beginning her
00:22six-year term.
00:27Why didn't a woman become president 20 or 40 or 50 years ago?
00:34Because our society had very different characteristics of structure, hierarchy, and patriarchy that
00:40have been somewhat diluted but have not disappeared.
00:48It took 200 years of independent Mexico and 65 holders of the executive power to have
00:52the first female president, a female, as Sheinbaum emphasizes.
00:57That a woman reaches a government or a position of responsibility does not in itself guarantee
01:02a different exercise of power.
01:05But I would like to take the phrase, time of women, in its plural sense.
01:13Praise you by the next president, who will receive from López Obrador the leadership
01:16of the country for the next six years.
01:21I'm also very happy because I'm going to hand over the presidential stash to an exceptional
01:27woman, to a humanist.
01:34The chamber of deputies already has security measures in place to receive heads of state
01:38and representatives from other countries invited to the ceremony, who have arrived since the
01:43weekend to witness the beginning of a new era.
01:47I am ready.
01:49I am strong people are ready to begin the second stage of the fourth transformation
01:54of Mexico's public life.
02:00This October 1st, Claudia Sheinbaum will become the 27th woman president in the world, the
02:05first in Mexico and North America.
02:07In the afternoon, she will meet with the people in the Zócalo, in Mexico City, before giving
02:11her first morning conference and going to the southern state of Guerrero to supervise
02:15support for those affected by Hurricane John.
