00:00Cat Towns! To the Knicks! The Jersey product comes home, Coach!
00:09Yes, the Jersey product comes home, and to me, I don't care what anybody says, this is a home run for the Knicks.
00:17And it's a home run for the Knicks for a couple of reasons. Number one, Cat, look at his stats when he, before Rudy Gobert got there, right?
00:26This guy was a 25-10 guy, 25-12 every night. So don't tell me that he's not rebounded, he's not rugged enough to defend.
00:33But the biggest thing is his ability to stretch the floor. He had one of the best pick-and-roll guys in Brunson.
00:40Now he can run pick-and-roll, or he can run pick-and-pop. And if you run pick-and-pop, now you have OG, Bridges, and Cat.
00:49So now the floor is spread, so Brunson's got driving lanes, Josh Hart's got driving lanes. It sets them up.
00:57Also, for a couple of other things, number one, I don't think people understand, Cat's a better 5 than he's a 4, right?
01:04OG's a better 4 than he's a 3. Bridges is a better 3 than he is a 2. They line up into their spots that's best for them.
01:14I thought it was a little much. And the other thing is, the ball's not gonna stick. Listen, I love Julius Randle. You do too.
01:21But you know, when it gets to Randle, that ball ain't moving anymore. It's gonna be more free-flowing offense, which I think, Pharrell, may make them harder to guard.
01:33I mean, listen, I agree with all that. I never thought Randle could get him over the top. Like, I always thought he was really good, but he wasn't the piece that could get him over the top.
01:47And then when they got the Villanova team, essentially, I thought they got a lot better. And then when they got Bridges, I'm like, they just got better.
01:59And then when they got this guy, I'm like, they actually got better by subtracting the guy that was good but never great. He was really good for the Knicks, right?
02:09But he was never great. He's there the whole time. He never made him over the top good, ever. And I think that now they have a team with a guy that can actually get him to the Eastern Conference Finals, at the very least.
02:23I think that's, you know, something that really we haven't seen around here in a long time.
02:27No, we haven't seen this since 99, when they went to the NBA Finals. Remember when they were that 8 seed and they lost Ewing?
02:33They lost Tim Duncan as a rookie. So, to me, Pharrell, this is the best Knicks team since the 90s. Like, let's be honest.
02:42And here's the thing. When they made all these moves, Pharrell, I think they looked right at Boston. It says, how can we compete with them, right?
02:51So, now you have O.G. Bridges, two premier lockdown defenders at that length that can now match up with Tatum and Brown.
03:00But where did the Celtics have an edge? Out of all places, it was poor Zingas.
03:06Because the Knicks couldn't go out and guard him and it was easy to guard Mitch at the basket.
03:11Now you have a guy that can stretch the floor, I would say, a better version than K.P.
03:17It's a really, really good move. But I also think, Pharrell, I also think the Knicks are a lot higher on Deuce and they're a lot higher on Kolik.
03:26I think they're going to become that back court. I loved Kolik. You did two out of Marquette. He's a tough lefty guard.
03:33And Deuce made strides in the playoffs, which I think, at the end of the day, made DiVincenzo expendable.
