00:00The acquisition of a historic cricket club, multi-million pound investment for a green
00:04energy firm, and more of this year's 42 under 42.
00:08That's all coming up on today's Business Briefing.
00:15Hi, I'm Robin Hewson.
00:17I'm Remy Greasley.
00:18And welcome to today's Insider Business Briefing.
00:20So, Remy, what's your top story for today?
00:22Yes, so it's one from the world of green energy.
00:25Green energy firm GeoPure has secured 22 million.
00:28Wow.
00:29That's a big number.
00:30To fund renewable energy infrastructure and sort of support that whole transition to green
00:35energy.
00:36And the CFO for the company has called it a pivotal milestone.
00:40And it brings the total capital raised in the last two years by the company to a figure
00:45of $114 million.
00:46Wow.
00:47That's huge.
00:48That's a huge amount to have raised.
00:49Yeah.
00:50It really is, isn't it?
00:51And the money will be essential to accelerate their plans to build what's called a hydrogen
00:56power unit.
00:57So they're planning on building sort of globally over 3,600 of these things to sort of support
01:04that transition to green energy all across the world, I suppose.
01:08Yeah.
01:09Exciting times ahead.
01:10Have you got a story for us, Robin?
01:11Yeah.
01:12So over in the Northwest, we are focused on our 42 under 42 at the moment.
01:15So that's something that we do every year where we have the top up and coming entrepreneurs
01:20across the region.
01:22And what we're doing a little bit differently this year is we're releasing different sectors
01:26on the newsletter.
01:27So today's is tech and media.
01:29So some of the really interesting names on that list today include Ayaan Mohamad Ali,
01:34Digitech Oasis, if you've heard of them.
01:36I have heard of them, yeah.
01:37Yeah.
01:38So that is a company that is challenging the gender gap in the tech industry.
01:42So Ayaan started herself and has sort of grown it to have lots of different staff working
01:46for her.
01:47And they've even won a King's Award recently.
01:49So yeah, really exciting entrepreneur there.
01:52And another exciting one in the tech space is Eleanor Harry.
01:55So she founded HACE in 2020, which is a company that works with NGOs to try and eliminate
02:00child labor.
02:01Oh, wow.
02:02So yeah, really impressive.
02:03And Eleanor is actually speaking at our 42 under 42 event next week, which I think we're
02:09all really excited about.
02:10So if you're a former 42er or a current one from this year, you can join us at that event
02:14next week.
02:15So make sure to get your tickets and we can celebrate together.
02:18But yeah, if you want to see the rest of that list, it's in today's newsletter.
02:22And the full list with all the different sectors is also out in the November magazine.
02:26Yeah.
02:27So in the world of cricket, a deal has been struck for a Hampshire Cricket Club or specifically
02:34Hampshire Cricket Club down there.
02:36And yeah, so it will now be under new ownership after a majority stake was bought by GMR Group.
02:43And pretty much it's been called a landmark partnership.
02:46And they'll now see the new investments have committed to furthering the whole development
02:51of their cricket teams.
02:53And also enhancing its grounds, which is in Southampton.
02:56I'm not sure if you know the Utilita Bowl.
02:58Can't say I do.
02:59I know Northern cricket a little bit, but...
03:01I don't know anything.
03:02But yeah, back to you.
03:03Exciting.
03:04So yeah, that's all we've got time for today.
03:05If you want to hear more about any of the stories we've mentioned, you can go to our
03:12website insidermedia.com.
03:13And we'll be back tomorrow with more of the top business news from across the UK.
