00:00The Oasis Reunion and Supersonic Deals from Colony and YFM, that's what's coming up in today's Daily Business Briefing.
00:14Hello, I'm Simon Keegan. And I'm Robyn Hewson.
00:17So Robyn, I've just got back from two weeks off.
00:21It's like when you used to go back to school after the six weeks holidays, I can't remember what to do, I can't write anymore.
00:27So why don't you start us off, what stories have caught your eye?
00:31So one from the North West today is about Manchester's DKNY building, don't know if you know it.
00:36Oh yeah, King Street.
00:37King Street, yeah. So that's been acquired by property management group Northern Group.
00:42And they're going to be turning it into another Colony co-work.
00:45So it's the second building that they've acquired in two months.
00:49So super acquisitive at the moment and obviously a lot of demand for these co-working spaces.
00:53We featured Colony in the magazine, didn't we? You went, didn't you?
00:56Yeah, we did. So I had a little tour around. It's got a gorgeous roof terrace and lots of amenities and things.
01:01So yeah, they're super popular with sort of people who are self-employed or like smaller companies starting up.
01:06So yeah, there's got a few spaces around and coats and now they're sort of expanding a bit further across the city.
01:12So we're obviously not seeing a slowdown in co-working because I kind of, you know, after lockdown,
01:17a lot of people were coming back into the office and some people who downsized kind of did a U-turn and got bigger spaces again.
01:24But it looks like it's still here to stay, doesn't it?
01:27Yeah, I think the co-working is super popular. I mean, they've got eight sites in the pipeline and two within the last couple of months.
01:32So really growing at the moment. Brilliant.
01:35Well, a deal that caught my eye was it was actually YFM Equity Partners Fund 3.
01:42I've invested in a Berkshire company called Stacker Truck, which, as the name might suggest, do forklift trucks.
01:51So they're Europe's largest supplier of a type of forklift called the Clark forklift, which if you're into forklift trucks, that's probably very impressive.
02:01They've already had investment from Merino Capital and the investors cited the management team.
02:08They're entrepreneurial. They've got the longevity. They've also got the ambition.
02:13And others that worked on the deal, Interpath, Arbuthnot, ABL, Shoesmiths and Lockton, who we know very well from our deals events.
02:24So now talking of supersonic deals, as I alluded to at the start, you snapped up some Oasis tickets, haven't you?
02:33I did, yeah. All in a day's work. Friday pre-sale, got four for Heaton Park, so very excited.
02:39Oh, fantastic. I saw Oasis in Heaton Park, you know.
02:42Back in the day.
02:43First time around, yeah.
02:44Well, we've covered the Oasis reunion a few times on the website, haven't we, because we've looked at the economic impact of it.
02:53Because even though, you know, like bands often do, they've kind of flown the nest, I don't think they're still living in Long Sight, are they?
03:01But it does bring that economic value to the area, as we've seen that recently.
03:06Well, yeah, I mean, I also went to the Taylor Swift Eras tour, and it's been well documented the sort of economic growth that that's created kind of across the UK and beyond.
03:15And yeah, I think they're expecting it to be the same or more for Oasis.
03:18Definitely, and definitely maybe.
03:21And Lisa Nandy, the Wigan MP, who's also obviously the Culture Secretary, she's also looking at this dynamic ticket pricing, because that's been a bit of an issue, hasn't it?
03:34Well, they went up from 150 to 350 in the space of a few hours, so yeah, not great.
03:39No, but you got in there quicker, I think, didn't you?
03:41Absolutely, yeah.
03:42There you go, there you go.

03:46Champagne Supernova, got to go with the classic.
03:48Oh, that's a great one, that's a great one. What else?

03:52Songbird, that's a bit of a left-field choice, that, isn't it?

03:59Yeah, that's a great one.
04:00Married with Children, Half the World Away, and I'll tell you what, a very underrated one is Born on a Different Cloud.
04:08Oh, that sounds good, I don't think I know that one.
04:10No.
04:11Not a proper fan.
04:12You need to do your homework.
04:13Now, talking of Half the World Away, there's still time for people to enter the International Trade Awards, so the event itself is not till December, but we're judging it in the next couple of weeks.
04:23For any companies who export, you don't need to be the biggest exporter.
04:28Now, you'll see big names that have entered in the past, but we also have categories for emerging exporters, for New Markets Awards, so even if you're only exporting to a couple of countries, it's definitely worth taking a look at the International Trade Awards.
