00:00The month of October will start from tomorrow, and with the start of the month, there will be changes in many income tax and financial rules.
00:09There are also three rules related to the share market that will change from October 1, 2024.
00:15The changes in the rules related to the share market can also impact the trading strategy and profit of investors.
00:21In this case, if you invest in the share market, then before taking any step related to it, you should definitely know about these three rules, which are going to change from October 1, i.e. tomorrow.
00:33The first change is made by NSE and BSE in transaction charges.
00:37NSE and BSE have made changes in the transaction fees for cash and futures and option trade.
00:44In NSE, the transaction fee for the cash market will be 2.97 rupees, i.e. 2.97 rupees per lakh traded value.
00:52In the equity derivative segment, the transaction fee for futures will be 1.73 rupees per lakh traded value.
00:59While in options, it will be 35.03 rupees per lakh premium value.
01:05In the currency derivative segment, NSE has kept the transaction fee for futures at 0.35, i.e. 35 rupees per lakh traded value.
01:15Apart from this, if we talk about currency options and interest rate options, then this fee will be 31 rupees per lakh premium value.
01:25Similarly, BSE has also made changes in its transaction fees.
01:28In the currency derivative segment, future contracts, i.e. cross-currency futures, will cost Rs. 45 per turnover value of Rs. 1 crore.
01:37In BSE's options, the premium turnover value of Rs. 1 crore will cost Rs. 100 and these changes will be made from October 1.
01:44After SEBI's instructions, NSE and BSE made changes in the transaction fees.
01:48SEBI brought a mandate in which it was necessary for stock exchanges to have a uniform flat fee structure for all members of the market infrastructure institutions.
01:58Through this, SEBI wants to change the structure of different fees in different slabs on the basis of volume and activity.
02:04The next rule is about the security transaction tax.
02:08Let me tell you that in the Union Tax 2024, the government announced a major way in the security transaction tax, i.e. STT on future and options trade, which has been in effect since October 1.
02:19Under the new rules, a tax of 0.0125% to 0.02% will be collected for future trading, while a tax of 0.1% will have to be paid on option trading.
02:30The next rule is that you will have to pay tax on share buyback.
02:34Yes, in the Budget 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the tax on the income from the share buyback equal to the dividend.
02:44This is also being applied since October 1.
02:47Until now, the income from the share buyback of the shares was not taxed on the holder.
02:54The rules of taxation on the share buyback were applied on the companies, but they were denied it.
03:00Now, the tax on the income from the share buyback is being shifted from the corporations, i.e. the companies to the shareholders.
03:08In other words, whatever income there will be in this way, the tax on the shareholder will be taxed.
03:13The income from the share buyback will not be classified as capital gain, but will be classified as a dividend.
03:19In other words, the way income tax is taxed on the income from the dividend, in the same way, the rule of tax will be applied on the income from the buyback.
03:28The income from the dividend is added to the total income of the taxpayers.
03:33After that, whatever calculation of income is made, the tax on income is calculated according to its slab.
03:40In the same way, the total income of the shareholders will be added to the income from the buyback.
03:46And after that, the calculation of income tax will be made according to the related slab.
03:52So, if you invest in the share market, then there are three such big rules in which changes have been made and which are very important for you to know.
03:59That's all in the video.
