Meet Amberine Nawaz, owner of Heli Cars & Pink Ladies Ltd, based at Skipton, North Yorkshire, has set up a taxi business specifically catered to women, girls, people with disabilities and the elderly to provide safe transport.

00:00So I'm the owner, manager, director and driver of Helicars Pink Ladies, so I set up the business
00:10as I moved up here from Surrey and realised that there was nothing that I felt safe for my
00:15eight-year-old daughter at the time, who's now 16, who does use our taxi more frequently than
00:20I'd like her to maybe. So we are to provide a safe environment for women, children and we also
00:32do a lot of services for the elderly, wheelchair users, we offer a chaperone service as well in
00:40case they don't have family, we take them to hospital appointments, anywhere they may need to
00:45go. So to meet equality and diversity, we are mainly predominantly for women and children,
00:53however we do also take men as well. The main purpose was to provide a safe environment for
00:59women and children because we live in rural areas and you can go 10 minutes without seeing anybody
01:05and if you haven't got a phone signal it's quite obviously scary for the younger ones and women
01:09especially. Yeah, so we stand out, we're pink as you can tell, pink, pink, I always tend to wear
01:15pink as well, so yeah, women, little girls absolutely love it. So since we've had the
01:22business, it's been quite favourable, everybody enjoys seeing the pink car around. We did,
01:29to start off with, the other drivers weren't too happy but now I think they understand the main
01:35purpose of the business is to provide safety and security for individuals. The business vision
01:42at the moment, where I can see it going, before Christmas I'm constantly looking at offices,
01:47setting the office up in Bradford and then we'll be moving on towards Sheffield which is my 12
01:53month plan and then we will, I'm also looking at the franchise option for other businesses
