00:00The Philippines' lack of appreciation for the choice of candidate and election.

00:05This is the opinion of Professor Antonio Contreras in his segment called

00:09Punto de Vista sa Rise and Shine, Pilipinas ng PTV.

00:13According to Contreras, the public should be aware of the meaning of responsible voting,

00:19especially when the politicians running the midterm elections are getting to know each other.

00:25Politicians and the public should look at the important issues in the society.

00:34Politicians should look at the track record of the incumbent

00:40and should not just look at being handsome, beautiful, famous, an artist, and so on.

00:46Politicians should examine themselves and find out what is important

00:50and look for it in the politicians who will be the voices of the people.

00:54Politicians should not waste their vote and give it to the right candidates.

01:01What we should look at is the trust that will be the foundation

01:09that we will build for the people in Congress, in the Senate, or even in the local government units.

01:20As a body, it should have a voice just like ours.

01:24We should not look at it as a liability.

01:27We should look at what the platform is and what it is fighting for.

01:30We should match the appreciation that we remember as a body

01:35and we should know what we want to achieve in our lives.

01:41Because if we know that, we can match it.

01:45So who are the closest to our interests?

01:50The candidates.
